So you made a commitment to the Navy and fucked that up because you thought you knew better. Then you made a commitment to the Legion and left on bad terms cause you thought you knew better. T. Cav I am not bagging on you bro but you are still making the same mistakes in life. Ego is a powerful ally of the devil. The more success you experience, the stronger that evil called ego becomes. It reassures us we are right, makes us stubborn and eventually leads us down a path of destruction. And the sad part is that it is never a clear path. It is a smoke we can never see through. And it will do it over and over and never look the same twice. Ego will always try to convince you to put the cart before the horse. A calm, patient and truly humble man will have the the honor of finishing a commitment to the very end before starting the next adventure. You will know if the evil is present the next time you are tempted with women or drugs or alcohol or money or opportunities that don’t align with your current commitments. Don’t let that ego win. It is a road to disappointment. Take it from an old and honorably retired deputy sheriff. There is self respect at the end of the high road. Even at my age that damn thing called ego still tries to get me. It is a life long battle to know when it is ego and when it is a path of righteousness.

Reflecting on that I believe there is still a lack of impulse control going on :
    1) Punching a civilian out of rage and anger leading to be kicked out of the teams.
    2) Deserting from FFL for money (coaching), fame & ego on social media when you just had to wait a few more months to complete the contract honorably...And then start your social media which would have been the sensible choice.
    The rest is self justification.
No military organizations would ever allow an active duty personel vlogging to self promote his lucrative coaching business. Not specific to the legion.
Just imagine seals operators with their aura in the US, all starting coaching businesses, vlogging while on duty...Beyhond the obvious security issue, that's not loyal to the institution, very individualistic & unethical.
The sad reality is that this story might fool men with weak frame/troubles in life looking for an inspiration/model/gourou as there are many in the internet and in this very comments section.
Nevertheless I wish Tcav all but the best, hopping he will not fall for his addictions & self sabbotage again.
I believe he genuinely wants to grow as a men but it is quite messy...Because still to grips with inner demons (lack of impulse control/maturity/self sabbotage/ego/individualism etc.) ...While firmly disaproving his choice, I feel somewhat compassionate in his struggle to be a better person.

I see both sides and this is clearly a complex or complicated matter. TcAV clearly has type A/impulsive/substance use/PD traits and has been fortunate to rebound given his charisma and skills. I genuinely mean no disrespect! I hope he can find a stable path of redemption (if pursuing or needed) or success.
If he can amass a social media following, this may prove to be wonderful and/or a downfall given what this may entail. But it seems clear, when he is in an environment demanding structure and when motivated to gain acceptance/succeed, he is a true juggernaut. He has a level of self- awareness that is uncanny but lack the conscientiousness to stay the course.
I wish him and all others the best with their pursuits and challenges. Life is messy and complex, and they is no perfect path. I wish him the best with his endeavors and pursuits.

You signed a contract and your word is your bond!! The message that you're sending out is one of: It's OK not to be loyal or keep your word. Maybe the time you had left in the FFL can now be spent in therapy to continue to heal the inner demons within, thus saving the money you were able to save while in the FFL, now using those funds to pay lawyers. When I was in the submarine service I got fed up with the shit on my second boat and demanded transfer to surface craft then got a navy commander in the medical corps to write “remove from submarines” in my medical jacket. My command ignored this so I filed a complaint against them. Finally COMSUBLANT granted me an early discharge six months ahead of time since there wasn’t enough time remaining for a transfer. So I got out and went to the Coast Guard to get sworn in as a merchant seaman. I then spent 8 years in the merchant marine working for the military sealift command during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Sometimes enough is enough.

Quite a few hours difference here Taylor, I'm on the panhandle of Florida. I was up early, watch your interview Podcast with Mike Ritland as well. I saw you foresaw possibly living in Florida. My dad was carrier USAF and wound up here at Eglin AFB. This coast is awesome, sugar white sand, and growing just like you've seen the CA coast. You may have friends that were at Pensacola NAS just west, or Tyndall AFB just down the coast. It may freeze a day or two here in the year. You should give it a visit.
I feel the good Lord has more in store for you, helping your brothers and sister. He finds us when we are at our lowest, brings us to our highest. Glad your still here :>)-

Soooo, long story short, what could have been a beauriful story boils down to being a schlabor. Kicked out of one and Deserted the other...you're no help to anyone considering joining.
Then again, I guess that old saying may have something to it, " those who can't do, teach".
8 months left, mdrrrrr. The psychological pressure was apparently too much, proof.
    LPN, from a real Légionnaire
*Most deserters, are from 1st world, English speaking countries because they come into the FFL thinking they're better than everyone else. And, as proved, this is false. Humbling expérience I would've hoped.

Having spent 8 years in 2REP during the 90’s was sorry to hear you deserted.
Legion was never going to put up with a Vlog from a current member.
With only 8 months left would have been good if you could have seen out your contract.
Unfortunately now you’ll never be able to return to France.
I remember a deserter in the 90 who was stopped by the gendarmes and they run some check in a routine traffic stop and found he was a deserter.
He was takin into custody and returned to Aubagne where he did 30 days en toll and then was dishonourable discharged.
And this was some 10 years after he went missing.
Wish you the best mate, helping people gives a great feeling of satisfaction.

Made some more bad decisions, but buckled down and got yourself in the Legion. But now instead of breaking the cycle of mistakes and making progress, you're repeating yourself here. Idk how you're going to spin this one dude. We've only seen you already climbed outta the hole you dug for yourself. Now we see you stuck down there in a new hole. The other hand super proud of how you’ve turned around your life and decided to share that positive experience with others so they could possibly benefit. You can’t always just walk away??? Your message still resonates with people who are in need. Tough one for me I guess??
