Dude, you are right on the money. The next generation coming up needs to hear this! I went through Army warrant officer candidate school with a SEAL that lateral transferred over to the Army to fly. The rest of us would be getting smoked and hanging on by a thread, the SEAL would laugh and act like it was fun. He just had a different mindset. Much respect to you!
Man I’m a 68yo 6th generation Texan. Can never do what you do but I train everyday just to make sure a can defend my family and friends. Thanks for the videos! Now I’m just waiting for your book!
After 12 years in the Marine Corps I left in 1995. After 9/11 I was going to return for additional duty, instead a co-worker had me join the 19th SFG(A). After reenlisting and a few months of work up, rucking, and training I went to selection. I ended up fracturing my back and permanently damaging my spine to the point the Surgeon pulled my AB status. Career was over. I was discharged and 10 years later I got cancer from my years at Camp Le Juene. After 2 bouts of cancer, expiring in surgery and being revived, I’m still here and train as much as I can. It’s the Warrior Code.
Brother, you have wisdom beyond your years. I love listening to Special Ops guys. You all seem to have the ultimate positive outlook on life. Thankyou for sharing your story with us.
I'm a 46 year old dude seriously contemplating taking out a $100k loan for a commercial flight school. I hold a private pilot's license and I was far from a prodigy through that training . Self doubt of my aptitude to make it through has me on edge. The FAA doesn't just give out licenses like the state DMV. I don't know why youtube recommended your channel, but what you said about not being able to imagine a world where I fail is exactly what I needed to hear.

Thanks for this motivational Monday!!! These are the pep talks I need to hear to get me through life. I did Iraq and Afgh back in the day as a grunt. At Ranger School I saw a car driving on a road outside of Camp Merrill and RI told me, “no one cares”. Stayed with me because I was young and idealistic. You are doing the best thing for anyone in the military. I wish you nothing but brilliance and happiness. Thank you.
I am convinced that in a previous lifetime the work of being a Spartan Warrior or some other elite soldier has gifted you with the mind-body discipline to push thru any hardships.

Former Swedish arctic ranger here. I totally agree about the mental toughness part. During basic training we had to march in the mountains on high altitude. Marching with the ice cold wind in your face while youre carrying a 35 kg backpack plus weapons, ammunition, heavy boots and other gear definitely wears you down mentally and physically. It makes you question your decision but you can't just give up. The shame of giving up is worse than freezing to death. You just keep going one step at a time. You empty your mind and the only thought that remains is that you have to make it. You go all in as you said.
Spot on! When I went through French Commando School, the instructors beat the French soldiers. Hand to hand combat training was really hand to hand fighting. They did not care about safety at all. You got injured, oh well, go home. Twisted my ankle real bad before the 80k final march, taped it up with 100MPH tape and made it. The Legion instructors hated any weakness and expected the same from us!
You are killing it. Thank you, again for having total transparency and with the presenting the reality of what being in SpecOps is really about. Much admiration for you and your journey.

I went to OCS in the New York Army National Guard (when all of you out there stop laughing ...trust me I feel you). We started OCS with 200 candidates. We finished graduating something like 80 Lieutenants. And, Navy boot camp was tougher if you ask me, but that is another story. It truly is all mental outlook. The Guard was my last shot at finishing my military career and failure, for me, was not an option!

You are correct ! All in ! I was in the Old Corps Marines during Nam and for me it was all in, honing my craft and physical fitness beyond anything the Corps expected while also perfecting my hand to hand and pugiling. Live it, breathe it and expecting nothing less than victory. There is a point where the body can break down, it is just a matter of knowing the symptoms and doing something about it immediately because that is a serious if not lethal condition. Either way, you will be set back in your training. Our bodies are our armored vehicles that give our heads and eyes a ride to wherever we need to be. There are many disciplines other than the ones I have mentioned which must be exercised in perpetual repetition, especially those of a chosen specialty. I am happy to see your drive and I will pray for your victory in every case. No obstacles are too great for you and there is never anything beneath your dignity because you do what you must do. You are right about the Legion and the Seals and it goes for the Legion and the Corps as well. I have had several friends who served in the Legion that were initially trained as Marines. I'd been waiting on a new one to post! This is excellent encouragement and what many younger people need to hear when considering these options. You're absolutely correct, it's all or nothing.
I did basic for the CAF in '93 and then RCMP in '99. Had a good career. Looking back, the guys who quit were whiny from the get go. I was excited to be there, like I won the lottery. I just had to get through this and I was set, I never once thought I wouldn't. Don't attach yourself to the whiners, they are always waiting for it to get better. It doesn't, training and discipline is the job. I can't wait to hear about your life with the Legion. Cool channel brother.
Your use of one's lineal heritage being identified by the name on the back of the helmets of the recruits who decide to quit and ring the bell during buds training was on point!😮 My question is if you don't speak French when you first arrive, how do you participate during the pre-selection process if you don't understand them?, I'm curious to know.
Great story, you turned yourself around just like my old man did. Takes a lot of courage to do what you did. I was all in for joining the Army and Combat, but the schools and garrison weren't my bag. I would have loved to hear your story two decades ago.
With 7 combat deployments with the corps, 8404 green side Corpsman, was going through some shit, but with the help of my ex wife medicine Dine nation folks Peyote and El Sapo (DMT) cure my salty ass. Appreciate your straight up life stories.....Anchors Aweigh!! shipmate....

Im 17 year old female. Just went through meps and swore in. I did early college and Jrotc so ill be going the officer route ive had this planned since 6th grade. I have to tell you after I swore in I started thinking WTF have I done its a 7 year commitment. But watching your 4th video really helped know its maybe not the right decision but its a decision none the less. You basically took a leap of faith i too dont know about organized religion but in a higher power or whatever. Truly appreciate you remember us when the channel blows up
My initial enlistment in the USN Advanced Electronics Program was for six years. It seemed to go by slowly at the time, but I'm 62 now and I don't know where the time has gone. After USN was OCS and another 18 years as an Army officer. Best decision I ever made. Even though I had no idea what I was doing at 18. Even if you only do one hitch it will set you up with a winning mental attitude for life. Good luck and welcome aboard!
OH & don't let the short-timers affect your attitude. If they can't hack it, well that is their problem. You will be fine. Soldiering is an honorable profession! @@John-n5v1r
Hey, no sweat, worse case scenario you'll be out by 24 but you will be prepared for life, for anything. You can transfer over and fly a jet, you can do a million things in that 7 years and maybe a pension ......officer, ma'am...definitely a pension at the end.....economically life will be predictable and better than jack in the bank, hey, you might make colonel....Lt Colonel....its an interesting ride, go for it.
There a few people on RUclips that sound like you, have the same voice all that stuff. Mainly dudes that have been in prison. Now with that being said I don’t know those people I don’t know you but the difference is you are a part of a organization that’s world known and we’re a part of one in the SEALs. That’s why I listen to your channel I may not know you but I know you are solid. We have all been in trouble have checkered past or whatever who cares it’s what you do now that matters. Keep killing it my guy love the channel gets me fired the fuck up everytime to stack some wins. Thank you
Bravo to you Sir! Like they have said in the comments already, it would be nuts to watch you on some podcast, to hear more stories from you. Greetings from new SF soldier from Slovenia! 🫡
Awesome stuff brother. Can’t wait to hear more. Been diving head first into the channel. I’m an Army Infantry vet and I need to hear stuff like this from people like you to remind myself to keep pushing. We made it through rough situations in this life and to just throw the towel in when we get home and everything slows down? That’s absurd. But how many of us do that? We find regular life more difficult and we lose our drive and motivation. You going the path you did is what you needed. You’re motivating me to find a new path as well. Since finding your channel I’ve found the motivation to get the foundations of a business together. Just like you going to that gate and knocking on that door. That’s the hardest part. Saying “fuck it I’m going all in.” Then once the decisions made you stick with it. That’s what veterans do and I needed someone to remind me of that. Much love brother
Brotha, your channel is addicting lol! You should start a podcast and tell your stories and get paid for it! You are a very interesting person with great stories of failing, motivating yourself, and overcoming insane odds! I’m glad there are ppl like you on the side of good🙏🏻
I read somewhere about the recruiting numbers in the United States military being in the hole so to speak. It said out of all the new eligible military age males between 18-23 only 20% were eligible for military service. The rest were too fat, stupid, had criminal history or other mental issues that would stop them from enlisting in the military. Says alot about the current state of the younger generation at this time.
doesn't help that mhs genesis disqualifies candidates for random diagnoses by doctors from years ago and demands stringent documentation fo treatment for conditions or illnesses they never had.
As a french , i can totally get the feeling of isolation far from homeland, in a foreign country, with akwards army rules. You need to dive into yourself to find the strength for not throwing the towel.
"Its like getting prepared to get kicked in the nuts, it just happens and you just have to deal with it" no doubt...some shit you just cant really prepare for
Take pride in yourself and the work you do. I went to Marine Corps Boot Camp in 1989 and looking back it was too easy. Once in the FMF it got tough. Being in a Raid Company was hard. We only worked at night in the cold Pacific Ocean. OTH Raids in a Zodiac is a challenge and looks cool in movies or on TV but actually doing it sucks. A reason we call the Corps is reffered to as the SUCK. Semper Fi. Great information brother.
Can you talk about the chow in the legion. I know we get spoiled in our (U.S.) military. I worked with the legion in Afghanistan back in the day, and they said breakfast was coffee and bread. My mind was blown. 😂
This was the mentality that got me through Army OCS (it used to be really hard). They stressed the shit out of us and ran us into the ground. Then, 9/11 happened one month before we graduated. It was a fucked up time
I have the mental toughness because I had too. That's why I'm here. I broke myself down owned my shit ...now I fully rely on God.... now I'm 41 and blackballed it seems . . Thanks Cavanaugh your A TRUE INSPIRATION THANKS . I WILL EVENTUALLY PROVE DEATH BY PSYCHOLOGICAL MURDER AND COVERT MANSLAUGHTER WITH NO PHD HA! HA ! I respect your mindset. Great advice and usually free advice is always wrong.
I watched each video, and I am happy for you. You've done what so many never get a chance to do, rebuild your life from the brink of the abyss.
God Bless you be safe, you're in my Prayers

C130 Crew Chief flying ass and trash all over the Pacific. Japanese girl friend says if you leave 1 more time we’re over. Told her “Sayonara baby” and that was that 😂
As a retired Air Force O-6 our military (US) needs more physical training like what TCAV is describing. We're weak!
I'd been waiting on a new one to post! This is excellent encouragement and what many younger people need to hear when considering these options. You're absolutely correct, it's all or nothing.
Hey brother. My son has watched your videos. These are a great dose of reality for him. You and Luke should do a video.

Lol the rcmp
Gtfo of here
Great video my brother. Stay safe n healthy!!
Your use of one's lineal heritage being identified by the name on the back of the helmets of the recruits who decide to quit and ring the bell during buds training was on point!😮 My question is if you don't speak French when you first arrive, how do you participate during the pre-selection process if you don't understand them?, I'm curious to know.
he is correct about selections. YOU HAVE TO WANT IT. period.

Im about to try for legion and you've motivated me man, thank you

If I can go back and do it again. I would have joined The military in 95 when I was 18 just coming out of High school. I was told by several of my friends that went to the military that I would have loved it, And I know I would've .....Maybe in The Next Life. But to all the Veterans past present and future, I just want to say Thank You for Your Service and Your Sacrifice for Our Great Country. #Respect #Salute 💪🏽🇺🇲💪🏽 #WeAreGenX
Love the channel! Appreciate your work, stay safe, Semper Fi
I don’t know if you intended this but your advice is more than military, it’s guidance for life. You are awesome man!

🤙🏼
are you making the legion a career ? perhaps get into the pioneers .. how awesome are they with the beard, leather apron, white Kepi and shiny axe... and the slow march,, hell I won't even cal it a march.. it's more of a swagger
Gotta love that Legion swagger pace i agree👌🏼⚜️
Don't look back, keep on going. No room for self-doubt. Your future depends on it.
Awesome content thanks
My pleasure
There a few people on RUclips that sound like you, have the same voice all that stuff. Mainly dudes that have been in prison. Now with that being said I don’t know those people I don’t know you but the difference is you are a part of a organization that’s world known and we’re a part of one in the SEALs. That’s why I listen to your channel I may not know you but I know you are solid. We have all been in trouble have checkered past or whatever who cares it’s what you do now that matters. Keep killing it my guy love the channel gets me fired the fuck up everytime to stack some wins. Thank you
That's what's up bro👊🏼
Bravo to you Sir! Like they have said in the comments already, it would be nuts to watch you on some podcast, to hear more stories from you. Greetings from new SF soldier from Slovenia! 🫡
We got some on deck! Will be doin Journey to Win podcast tomorrow and @GreenBeretChronicles this Friday
Thank you for doing these videos!! Keep up the good work. Very motivational! What you are doing is HUGE!
Momentum's rollin
Have you heard the ones that make it, by chance? Alot of them that do make it, get in for all the wrong reasons.
doesn't help that mhs genesis disqualifies candidates for random diagnoses by doctors from years ago and demands stringent documentation fo treatment for conditions or illnesses they never had.
As a french , i can totally get the feeling of isolation far from homeland, in a foreign country, with akwards army rules.
You need to dive into yourself to find the strength for not throwing the towel.
Well said
"Its like getting prepared to get kicked in the nuts, it just happens and you just have to deal with it" no doubt...some shit you just cant really prepare for
Thank God I'm in the right stage of fear. Fear of failure.
👊🏼🇺🇸
This is some awesome stuff Taylor. You've given me so much to think about. Thank You so much for sharing and keep making these badass videos!
We're keepin the project raw and down to earth🤙🏼
We Nephew are 1 Man
interesting to hear most people quit the morning of seal training.
Can you talk about the chow in the legion. I know we get spoiled in our (U.S.) military. I worked with the legion in Afghanistan back in the day, and they said breakfast was coffee and bread. My mind was blown. 😂
Loving your story mate, looking forward to hearing so much more!
More to come!
@@tcavofficial excellent!
Been there and done all of it!
Ive definitely seen you somewhere in coronado 2015 2016ish.
Yeah brotha that was the time for sure
Would love to see you on the Shawn Ryan Show! Shawn would love you!
That's what's up bro
This was the mentality that got me through Army OCS (it used to be really hard). They stressed the shit out of us and ran us into the ground. Then, 9/11 happened one month before we graduated. It was a fucked up time
Enjoyed the videos. Keep up the good work.
We on it!
HA !
