I just wanted to say thank you so much for posting this and the newer vid going inside the Hobbit holes.... you've brought me to tears by allowing me to join you on your journey. I've wanted to go there my whole life, and hope to still be able to someday, but this.. this meant so much. Thank you
You are most welcome Óðinn 😊 It's truly a magical place, and I'm happy you were able to join me on these journeys through The Shire (of course for now online, until you are ready to visit in person 😌🌿🍄) I would love to hear of your adventure one day too 😊🌸
Ahh this is such exciting news to read! Thank you for commenting anteres and letting me know - I'm so glad you found this video helpful! Wishing you the most amazing travels in NZ and joyful Hobbiton experience - it is a very special place 😊
Thank you for watching Mel - so happy you enjoyed! I think you will love NZ - people are friendly & it's not so manic as Sydney (I think the population of NZ is the size of Sydney? Explains why it's more relaxed there, HA! :)
Hi I'm a musician from Liverpool England and just discovered your fantastic Hobbiton videos. I'm a HUGE LOTR fan and have wanted to visit the set for some while. Now more than ever. Thank you for sharing such fab videos all things Hobbiton. Regards Lee
You're very welcome Lee! I'm glad you're enjoying my little video series of Hobbiton. Thank you for watching and leaving your kind comment. Hope you are well and your week ahead is a wonderful one 😊
Ahhh you're very welcome! Thank you for watching, and hello all the way to Canada! (I've wanted to go to Canada since I was a kid! 😍) I am keen to film more of New Zealand and Hobbiton in particular, so if there's anything you'd especially love to see, do let me know and I might be able to capture it and share here for you 😊 Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week, and keep well in this new season setting in!
Almost ashamed as a kiwi and decades-long time Rings reader (and daily multiple b'fast eater!) that I've never been. Enjoyed that video very much, thanks-enough to subscribe! Keep it up :)
Thank you for watching Dominic! Haha love your daily multiple breakfast habit! ;) Hobbiton's definitely worth the visit - I've had such a positive experience here in NZ with people, I don't want to leave! HA!
Thank you. That was incredible, seeing all those familiar scenes, especially the stone bridge. The only thing missing at the inn was the mysterious guy lurking in the corner in a dark hood with 20 names who turns out to be a king. Since the hobbit houses are so small, I'm surprised the vegetable plants don't shoot up above the roofs.
What a joyful and fun comment to read! I really loved your story addition about the inn and also gardening perspective 😍 Haha. Now I am thinking! Thank you Maulena for watching - much appreciated 😊
Hello Liz! 😊Thank you for watching and for leaving such kind feedback - I am happy you enjoyed the video! Wishing you a wonderful weekend and hope you're keeping well 😍
Thanks Judes for watching - NZ has been incredible! And the people were so lovely 😍 I didn't want to leave....LOL. Ummm I'm going to have to go back and totally deck out in costume, if I can get it through customs. HA! 😅
Smashing video Gem. You seemed to get a lot of very good shots without a pile of people in them. Did you hang back a bit (or race ahead) of the crowd to achieve that? I've heard you don't get a heap of spare time to shoot content, so I was contemplating booking a second tour a week later so we can sort of sneak off... shoot some stuff.. and then just meet the rest of the crew back at the Green Dragon at the allotted time.
Thank you kindly Des! 🥰 I'm so happy you enjoyed! I had a few things coincide which made the shots possible: 1. The Second Breakfast tour is the first of the day, so there is no group in front of you in shot; 2. I tended to walk ahead most of the time, but in some shots I walked behind to get more quiet moments; 3. A LOT depends on the group that happens to be with you on the day - some groups are super noisy, some people have zero social awareness and literally walk in front of other ppl's shots. But this group was amazing! Everyone was polite, took turns to take photos, stood back so not to get in shot of others etc. 4. Your tour guide also has an effect - Sonny was AMAZING - he was so aware of the group and let us have a little more breathing room to walk ahead a little if we wished, and trusted us to not act like idiots and we all followed the rules (ie. stay on the paths, don't steal props etc). I suspect time of year has an impact too - I went in Winter time, and I believe the Spring/Summer/Autumn months are much more packed and boisterous in general. haha (personal theory!) I hope you get some amazing shots - and yes! I think your proposed idea of ducking off to get pics, and re-joining, will be OK 😃 I think a lot of trust can be created with the tour guide too, when you're a responsible adult and assure you won't lose the group etc. haha Have an amazing time! 😃
Thanks for watching Christopher - glad you enjoyed! I stayed for 3 days in Matamata, and went to Hobbiton over 2 days. I wanted to go again, it's that magical! Wishing you an amazing trip there - I'm sure you'll create some epic memories too! :)
Great Gemma, me and my wife are going to be there on the 13th of August. Just wondering if its worth to go "second breakfast tour" or just go with the normal one? Also, why is it called "second breakfast tour"? Does that mean we will get breakfast twice? 😅
Hi Assem - thank you for watching! Glad to hear you and your wife are going to Hobbiton! 😊 I personally feel that the normal tour will be very enjoyable and provides a lot of opportunities to create wonderful memories for anyone going (a complimentary beverage at the Inn is included). There is enough time to get good photos, videos and walk around the gardens and famous Inn and scenery from the movies. I found the normal tour to be so enjoyable, I wanted the additional experience of a full breakfast after the tour, which (for the price), was exceptional, and I wish I had a bigger stomach, there was so much food! Hahaha - Second Breakfast, for those who were worried they needed to eat before coming (which would be a mistake! Come starving! haha) Wishing you both an amazing trip! I will be going again this year. Each experience is unique (the other attending guests will be different each time), but truly, there is no disappointing ticket option, and I found it just came down to my budget for the day 😊
@@AussieGem I appreciate your thorough feedback! Very insightful and informative. Thank you We decided to go the hobbiton tour in the morning and then head to the Waitomo caves for the afternoon!
