Mesh shoes!! I never thought of that!!! Wish I had seen this a lot earlier. I am getting married soon and trying to add bits and pieces of hobbit life, clothing and decorations into the day. Thank you for the idea!!
You mentioned something about sticking to earthy tones. I'd like to object- the very first chapter of the book says that hobbits like to wear bright colours, particularly green and yellow. Of course, most of their clothes are functional, for field work and stuff, so brown breeches and white shirts are common, and I'd definitely stay away from any gaudy colours and stick to more natural dyes, but definitely definitely do include colours in your hobbit outfits! Especially green and yellow. (As long as they're not unnatural-looking dyes.)
This is actually super helpful both for cosplay tips and for inspiration on incorporating more "hobbity" attire in to my everyday wardrobe, with the textures and basic styling. All part of my eternal quest to gradually become more and more of a hobbit until one day someone finds me literally living in a hole in a hill in New Zealand.
1. I don't think I've ever enjoyed watching the sponsored part of a video as much as I did this one. 2. ZOMG i need to be a hobbit for halloween now. *sits at home i. Hobbit costume* 3. Frodo is absolutely adorable. I just need a Frodo shirt that says *Mornch* on it.

I've been looking for a tutorial for this exact thing for MONTHS! There's a million and one tutorials on how to be a Tolkien elf, but the hobbits are so overlooked. T-T Thank you so much for this awesome content! Also was literally just rewatching LOTR today, so this is brilliantly timed!
Great tutorial! I have an alternative suggestion to the foot hair, based on a costume I put together for a convention. I've always imagined hobbits as having REALLY hairy feet, because they need that hair to keep warm in the winter! So I ordered werewolf shoe covers from eBay and trimmed them to fit over a pair of sandals (this part was pretty messy - fake fur everywhere). I stitched some yarn onto the sides to keep the shoe covers attached to the sandals. That way I could walk around with the hairy feet and not have to worry about stepping on something painful.
OK that wall at the end not only looks like its straight outta the shire, but almost definitely identical to the wall from stardust! Anyone else see it?
That movie was my guy and I’s first “Out And About” date, and has been our special film ever since. (The poster is even in our living room. 😜) The soundtrack is tops, too, and so many great costumes and beautiful scenery! Check. It. OUT! Rachel, it’s right up your alley, M’Dear!

I would LOOOVE if you did more movie-outfit-breakdown-videos! :'D Some suggestions: Anne with an E (!), Jane Eyre, Harry Potter (but maybe the more complex looks like the professors), Fantastic Beasts, Game of thrones, Mary Poppins :) You are the only youtuber of whom I watch all videos^^ keep being you!
Love seeing you still be you and also getting a sponsorship :) you do you!
