Hi, I've got a quick Upwork freelancing question. I run an existing business, and just want to do some freelance writing on the side to get extra money that I can invest back into the main business. I'd like to make an extra $1k to $2k per month from freelancing jobs. My question is, do you have any tips for how I can get enough work to earn that amount. but not so much work that I end up over scheduled and unable to meet my obligations for my primary business? Thanks.

I have completed 85% of my profile settings. As I am a newbie here, hence could not give anything in 'work history', 'portfolio', 'employment history', or 'other experiences' sections. But I have a good knowledge and off line experience in the fields of works with typing and data entry jobs. I am unable to showcase my offline experiences in portfolio in Upwork. I am trying to obtain a job for three months, but not getting still. Please advice me that how I can get my first job in Upwork.

How many job postings do you respond to each day? For most new freelancers, it's a numbers game. Which means you have to respond to a LOT of jobs.

Hi Bro. What do you think if the client with no payment verification method, new user, and with no review?
Is it good to accept the offer? I worry about that kind of a scam

Great question. To see the individual feedback of each Upwork project or client, try this:
      1. Go to My Jobs › All Contracts
      2. Check the Include closed contracts box (this is important to see previous projects)
      3. Click the title of the contract to get to the details page
      4. Click Terms & Settings to view the feedback (it's kindof hidden, but should be there!)

Im new on freelancing and in upwork, Is it normal to be asked by the employer to pay first for the "insurance deposit"? They say its for the assurance that you'll finish the job and will be refunded when you finished the job before the deadline. Or its just a scheme to get money from people. Please tell me your thoughts about this sir.

It’s definitely a scam!! Don’t do it. And keep all communication on the Upwork platform. If they make this request via Upwork, report them. More details here:

That can definitely be frustrating. Some industries have higher response rates. In our experience it’s a matter of testing and refining your pitch and profile. It takes time and a small investment.

@@milloteam Okays! I would definitely feel it's a loss in the part of those clients who failed to browse for good Freelancers like me. Because I know how dedicated I am with my work and talent-wise, I got through those exams in which 999 others got failed. I do Freelancing domestically. Will never priorities money over my clients' satisfaction.

Yes, definitely. But keep in mind that a client's time is valuable. So they don't have tons of time to search. you have to make yourself stand out.

Hi! Was just noticing in your blog post related to this video you say the Upwork fee is 20% until the client spends $10k.
But it’s actually 20% on the first $500, then 10% til you hit $10k. It then drops to 5%
You might want to fix that.
    Great quality video btw!
    From your article:
“Upwork takes a 20% fee until the client has spent over $10,000 with you, where the fee then decreases to 10%.”

"How to Get Jobs on Upwork in 7 Days", what a BS title! Your success on Upwork depends on your reviews and to get reviews you need to do jobs! Meaning it won't happen in seven days. Once you get your first job things can change but for sure it won't happen in 7 days. You will be very lucky if you get ONE job. It can take a while for you to land your first job at Upwork!

    • @milloteam
      @milloteam  2 года назад +5

Thanks for sharing your experience! It can definitely take time, but we’ve worked with freelancers who were able to land jobs within 7 days. What we’ve seen is it varies widely by industry too. I’m curious why you say you can’t get your first job in 7 days… How long should it take and why? Thanks for the honesty!
