I finally completed my first job and although the pay is quite low but for now I'm trying to build my profile before I charge higher. I'm also getting more interviews so alot of connects which usually people run out of but I just don't face the scarcity of em anymore and I'm lovin it.

    Hi Josh
    Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge about Upwork.
    I first got to know Upwork from a friend and he immediately recommended your RUclips Channel.
    Then I joined one of the Upwork groups in Indonesia and it turns out that many people find this channel helpful.
    If allowed, I would like to make Indonesian subtitles for your videos so that more Indonesians can jump into Upwork and learn from your RUclips Channel. At least it will be useful for those who are new to Upwork and not very proficient in English.
    I will not charge for this subtitle. Everything is free as a form of my thanks to you and also for more people to watch this channel and learn Upwork here.
    Thank you for all the knowledge and I am waiting for your reply to my request.
    Best Regards
    Nana

      MySQL is a RDBMS, like SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc. It could take you 3 months, it could take you 6 months, it could take you a year, it could take you 2 years, etc. The time it takes to learn a skill is 100% dependent on the person learning the skill. Just go to skillshare and look at the courses with the best reviews. 👍

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH Josh for sharing your experience and tips. Keep it up. I came back today to prove it WORKED 100%.
    It had been a month since I got my first $100 job which was completed with 5 star review. I (re)watched your videos and try to be client centeric in everything.
    For those of you who don't get your first job, just watch the videos again and again, try to apply on your profile, proposal and communication with clients. Good luck!

    Great Tips as always Josh. I need help regarding hourly jobs, I haven’t got one yet in my 2years on Upwork with over 70 fixed jobs won. I am a Top Rated Video Editor and Motion designer. Is there a tip for winning hourly jobs on Upwork? Thanks

    • @JoshBurnsTech
      @JoshBurnsTech  3 года назад +4

      Thanks so much! There's not really any secret or tip to win hourly jobs on Upwork. It really comes down to your skill set. For Video Editor and Motion graphics, if you're looking for hourly projects then you will need to sell based on your quality and speed. A lot of clients will be looking for fixed-budgets, so your goal should be to convince them that you can edit faster and with higher quality on hourly jobs.

      Hey! Earning a badge only helps you on Upwork. The decrease in views and job invites could be from a vast variety of factors.

    Hi sir ! How much of SQL experience do I need to acquire a job on Upwork ?. I'm a newbie and I'm wondering how long it will take me to become a SQL developer.

    • @JoshBurnsTech
      @JoshBurnsTech  3 года назад +2

      There's no specific amount of experience. It comes down to having the skills and confidence to complete jobs. I worked as a SQL DBA in a full-time salaried position for 2 years before I started freelancing.
