You show where hard-work can take you. Thanks for your video’s. Love the fact you work for yourself by yourself. Could really help the younger generation if they listen and watch.
Trying to locate part 2 that you mentioned towards the end of the video??? Also? If I were doing this on top of current working plumbing in basement basically for relocating drains in remodel, I can assume I wouldn't need the pooppump (lol) but since I'm using the existing drains could I get by using 2x4 rather than 2x6 or 2x8? The new drains wouldn't be far from originals, it's mainly for a little reconfiguration, likely only a couple feet or so from the original, the raised floor would then be even with the rest of the raised floor in the basement yet still allow access to the plumbing should it ever be necessary? Thank You Mr. (I love your) Beard.

Love your channel! I am a Ace of all trades myself and a GC working mostly by myself or with a couple helpers. I could definitely see you are a problem solver. I would bet your local building codes would still have you use pressure-treated lumber. I would assume those would count as base plates on slab. Just because your floor is covered with tile would not change that in my municipality. I would always overbuild if in doubt. That being said I'm sure it will be fine.
@@TheHandyman1 thanks Handyman! I’m replacing some 55 yer old awfully squeaky sub floors in my home and noticed they were just fastened with nails back then, figured I would glue and screw the new floor down but maybe I’ll go with a good ring shank nail, would be a lot quicker that’s for sure.
@@joemully6666 Glue and modern ring shank nails are for new construction and remodels. Maybe they didn't use glue on your house or they didn't have the right nails. My house squeaks like crazy it has wood planks for subfloor and everything was hand nailed back then.
Great job! how high is your ceiling? Im working on a similar project. The issue I'm having is that I have 85 inches from the concrete floor to top of joist. My question is do i have enough room for a shower.
Of course lol. Did you level your floor then or just let it lay? Something that small I might just let go. Have to do the same relief in my floor some day, previous owners didn't and the tub barely drains.
I put in a similar pump about 25 years ago when I decided I wanted to finish my basement. It was a different design but it's worked well all these years. I decided I didn't want to have to step up on to a platform so I jack hammered a hole in the concrete floor and put the tank below grade. My only regret is, and your client is about to make the same mistake, was not putting in a shower. I had room to frame the bathroom anyway I wanted but made it into a half bath. Wish I had included a small stand up shower when I did it.
See my instagram instagram.com/the_hand_e_man/ This not a slab on grade it is a suspended structural slab. With a fully concreted in crawlspace under it.
Bro I desperately need a part 2 to this lol
The handyman literally elevates crap to a whole new level, with his videos.. this one specifically
Where’s part 2?

Great content. Great video editing. Great entertainment. Great lessons and info that everyone can use in life. Thanks!
I can't find part two - I'm invested !!!!!
Lol I'm over here waiting still for part 2 OMG
Thanks for the tips. I’m looking to install a bathroom in a basement with septic. Ejector pump is probably my best option. Minus the skid marks
I love the idea of raising the floor and using a standard toilet. I have the rough in plumbing done in my basement to install a Saniflo.
I appreciate your dedication and focus on the work. You can clearly hear the Gran Prix outside like we can, yet you stayed at it, building instead of going outside to watch the Formula1 races in the street.
Hey Handyman where's part to of this video. I like the idea of being able to use a regular toilet with the Saniflo pump
I need more on this video lol I'm about to do this to my basement and need part 2... 9r a better instruction/tutorial on how this works.
Handyman living in fast forward while we sit and try and keep up. Love the videos as usual
This was great, and thanks. But where's the Part Two you mentioned?
That old floor is beautiful.
Great work and thanks for sharing this with us take care
Before placing a toilet, one must confirm its location with a squat test lol
It's science.

I just started watching now. Are those 9x9 Asbestos floor tiles?
I have similar setup. What did you use to raise the flange?

Hey Handyman, have you made any vids on building a rear flush toilet & sink inside a garage that connects to a septic? Or any vids that are similar?

Where does the poop pump go? How do you connect to the main stack?

Thanks for your videos. How do I add a bathtub to a basement restroom without breaking up the ground?
Its not easy to do without breaking cutting the slab and routing the drain lines. Its not as complicated as it sounds and can be done in a few hours.
I have one toilet flange in the basement. Can i tie in a shower and toilet into without breaking the concrete floor?
You have great skills 😀😀😀😀💯💯💯💯💯
I’ve been to your website, but I’m having trouble finding part 2 of this video. What is its name? Or do you have the link? Thanks!!
I've been looking for it as well.

I just saw your Instagram post. I came as quick as I could. I hope I’m not too late lol
That tool you hit with a hammer that drove a nail in the concrete flooring , can i have a name or link please,
I have two anywhere toilets on my property, they are fantastic. 10' of head at around 200' in a 1" line. In some cases, a miracle.

@@jfromtn7410 Yes, twist and turns acceptable.
Did you ever do part two?
Interesting. Never knew there was such a thing.
I didn't either. I only knew about the old way to do it with a big pit in the ground then grinder pump out to the main line.
Since it’s a water area, shouldn’t it be all pressure treated lumber??? I’m curious
Pressure treated wood is only used when it is in contact with concrete. You will not find it anywhere in a house outside of that.

what is that orange spike you hammer the wood into the floor called? some kind of explosive floor anchor?
It's a Ramset, uses .22 cal ammunition to drive a nail into concrete. credit to BenJohnsonDotNet
.22 Blanks bought from your local box store. Please dont put live rounds in it.
Can’t wait till the next video just curious to know the operation of that new toilet 🚽😆🔨👍

What's the dimension of the 2×6 build up for the shower and toilet? Trying to get an idea how big the whole thing is? Love your videos, thank you.
2x6 then 3/4 subfloor then tile membrane then tile. I'm using a schluter pre sloped pan for the tile floor in the shower.
Was there a part 2 video
Handyman definitely took a shower for that outro. It grooms. Dramatic stuff
Where did you get the toilet flange and the 90? I can't find anything to fit in the space of 2x6 joists on a slab
It came with the pump kit.
did you connect all of your plumbing before you fastened the floor to your joists?
Yes
enjoy your videos and presentation style. A+
Where is the second or follow up video?
Good job
Thanks
I'll let you know when I get it done

Would I still need the pump to and raised floor plumbing in the garage?
This is something I will be needing in my basement. Thanks for sharing!
You are awesome as usual but I miss the whistling. Haha ... look forward to the next one.
Did you perhaps use pressure treated wood?
What is the pumping system your using is that a saniflo
where is part 2 of this video? nice work

Awesome
Sanigrind, so this is really just a Vitamix for the lavatory deposits is what you're telling me :D
Just curious why nail the sub floor down? Shouldn’t it be glued and screwed so deflection doesn’t eventually cause the floor to start squeaking?
Subfloors are never screwed down. Only nailed. It is glued as well.

hi wheres the second video? To show the rest of the project?
#91!!!! September 15 is first day of Bow in NH
Bow season in Bow NH 😄
Honest question. What about a vent for the drainage or does that poo machine handle that as well?
The pump is vented through the roof. If the shower run was longer it would be vented too.
Still looking for an excuse to buy a Ramset... one of these days!
Great job! how high is your ceiling? Im working on a similar project. The issue I'm having is that I have 85 inches from the concrete floor to top of joist. My question is do i have enough room for a shower.
60 inch shower pan next to toilet? Looks like wet vent lav but not sure with saniflow stuff
Can you please tell me the result. I am doubting since I couldn’t find the next part. Does it work?
What type of tools you used
Curious as to if you designed the bathroom or going off someone else’s? Either way great job. Really enjoy the videos!
Do you need the pumpernator because the sewer is too high to get proper pitch?? If so why did they build it so high??
You could be Forrest Gump lol 😂 great videos like normal
goals.
Was that home a pool hall at one time? The tile reminds me of a bar/pool hall in Wayne, WI that was called Barney Strobel's Bar on County Hwy W.
No
Was that floor level?
Not even close. 2 inches out across the room. The ceiling is all off too.
And the walls are out of square and plum also.
Of course lol. Did you level your floor then or just let it lay? Something that small I might just let go. Have to do the same relief in my floor some day, previous owners didn't and the tub barely drains.
I just put it down. The shower pan still has enough slope. That short 8 foot distance it's only out a little bit.
How are your knees?
What was that chisel? And what were you loading into it?
It's a Ramset, uses .22 cal ammunition to drive a nail into concrete.
What Ben said.
LOL love it!
And who didn’t understand the raised deck for plumbing? Gotta do what you gotta do!
I have the same situation in my basement
Why didn’t you put liquid nails on the joists when you nailed down the sub floor?
I do. It is easily to see me put glue on every joist before putting the subfloor down and nailing it. ruclips.net/video/vi8x8fIcH2k/видео.html
Good call on the skid marks. That'd be nasty to deal with.
This was very dramatic, and waaay confusing! 😳🤯

@@MarkH10 have you installed other saniflow toilets?looking for a system in a new detatched garge about 90 feet away
@@jfromtn7410 No toilets. I suggest strict attention to the slope over that 90 feet. The steeper the drop the smoother the flow.
