The great actor Joe Pesci was interviewed by Tom Snyder during this 1998 appearance on The Late Late Show with Tom Snyder. Joe tells a great story of Bob De Niro contacting him when Pesci was working in a famous Bronx Italian restaurant, Amici's on Arthur Avenue circa 1978/79.

Snyder was also the pioneer anchor of the primetime NBC News Update, in the 1970s and early 1980s, which was a one-minute capsule of news updates in primetime.

The way he describes the call, I can hear exactly how DeNiro was talking.
Basically luck is like a ball thrown at you. Either you catch it and score or you don't.
There's a great clip with Helen Mirren, she says, "when you have a chance at a rock'n'roll moment, you better take it," when she describes her regret for not letting Keith Moon of The Who come on stage with her one night.
THANK GOD...Joe did not give up acting Raging BUll, Good Felllas and Casino would not even come close to being the all time greats they are

When I think of his role in Good Fellas. I would not be messing around with a guitar toting Joe Pesci.
My scenario
The wise guy patron at the table Joe is serenading says to Joe " are you George Harrison,because your guitar is making me weep"I can just hear Joe saying " you think this is amusing, I'm here to amuse you"? Wham, wraps the guitar around the schmuck's head, guitar strings and all ,making sounds guitars are not supposed to make. And everbody around neighboring table chuckles, when Bob De Niro says to the motionless heap on the floor " well you did insult him,just a bit" and then De Niro turns to Joe and with disgust says " you got the part but now your digging the frikkin hole". As Joe with tears in his eyes is apologetically saying to his boss "I didn't mean to get the spaghetti sauce on your carpet". Then Joe with excitement exclaims " I'm moving to Hollywood".
He has his mother’s mannerisms.
Mr. Pesci you had a good boss tell you to go read he was a good man in the fact that he wasn't denying you to get ahead good boss is like that are hard to come by.
All I can hear is Pesci saying "Ok-Ok-Ok"
