Fun fact, there was a whole fleet of these explorer ships all around the galaxy, with American and international crews exploring the far reaches of space 😊
Casting suggestions for a remake: Chris Pratt as Captain Dan Holland Karen Gillan as Doctor Kate McCrae Christoph Waltz as Doctor Hans Reinhardt. Anyone else can fill the gaps? I would have Vincent and B.O.B. as humanoid robots and give this BLACK HOLE remake an even darker and twisted spin of the story giving it a 12A certificate, with Karen/Kate undergoing her cybernetic surgical conversion into one of Reinhardt’s humanoid robotic zombies like in the 1979 original - but more terrifying and slightly graphic. Also for other scenes unsuitable for very young children featuring mild violence, occasional horror and strong language. I would also like to see the opening title sequence of the original film recreated as well as the great John Barry’a haunting score.
My cast: Bradley Cooper as Captain Dan Holland Tom Holland as Lieutenant Charles Pizer Tom Hiddleston as Dr.Alex Durant Gillian Anderson as Dr.Kate McCrae Stephen McKinley Henderson as Harry Booth Bryan Cranston as Hans Reinhardt
@@Emeraldman Excellent suggestions! I should have thought of Holland in the first place. I would stick with Gillan though as she’s younger than Anderson, and has box office appeal. Gillan has said recently that she wanted to do more dramatic roles as opposed to the comedies she has been doing, and to see her being subjected to a horrifying and gruesome fate worse than death - or in other words, will lead to her tragic death, being surgically converted to being one of Reinhardt’s dehumanised cyborgs - will be a drastic change to her acting career. Perhaps a shocking death scene where her partially converted body lies on the operating table. Another nod to the original 1979 version I would like to see is the opening titles recreated with Michael Giacchino adapting and expanding the great John Barry’s score.
@@MarkFoster321789 I would also have Simon Pegg as Vincent and Nick Frost as Old Bob. They work well as a pair and I'm sure Nick could do a Texan Accent.
@@MarkFoster321789I respect your opinion on the Casting suggestions for a remake of The Black Hole and I think if they ever do a remake of The Black Hole I think there should be flashbacks set on Earth in my opinion. Just Saying?
Ich habe mir den Film auch als 4K restauriert... auf deutsch :) Und das Ergebnis ist genau so gut. Leider konnte ich ein Videovergleich hoch laden da RUclips es verboten hat.. leider !
There are many opinions on that topic, but I get it that people don't like denoising. I like it in that degree I have done on that cut and I could have taken out more noise, but on that level it makes sense to me on that movie. Maybe I'll make a version with less denoising. We'll see 🙂
It wasn't meant to be watched as a movie snippet, but as a hint for the consumers and producers how cool a 4k remaster could look for that all time SciFi classic.
The USS Cygnus design for deep space exploration with crew of families onboard until it was a ship filled of it's dead mummified crew and a mad scientist to lead the doom ship into the Blackhole.
I forgot how 60s television this script was _ so sterile, unrealistic condescending mansplaining while introducing characters by name ... if it were for the heavy weight principles and John Barry's music, this film could have ended badly.
This movie gem URGENTLY NEEDS a proper restauration!
I agree! 😃
Notice the crew hand at 0:30 seconds turning Vincent from below.
I never noticed that. 😲

Dantes Inferno and a red guy with horns....nice foreshadowing ;)

Those ships are still out there searching for 'habitable life' teehee.
AI Upscale looks good. But Disney+ Version is better. I wish they release it worldwide on Blu-ray Disc with Disney+ Version.
What was used for the upscale ? Topaz video AI or others ? Thx
Yes it's Topaz Video AI
Full movie please :) 4k AI :)
Nice!
The 4k version looks absolutely stunning, how do I get hold of it?
The best version is the one from amazon prime video. No public 4k version available yet.
not yet :) @@stefane.4663
ooof that pal speedup makes it sound like they've mixed helium into the Palomino's oxygen supply :p
this reminds me of the transfer for the first Predator movie. Waxy faces and all. There's no detail.
Joseph Bottoms (who played Charlie) looks an awful lot like Michael C Hall
And sadly he's the only surviving cast member of this movie now.
Taking out film grain is not an improvement.

I think the denoising was done well.
Not really watchable with the text popups. But the upscaling looked good.
