    Sales price is a must to help us narrow down what choices to investigate further. The Leisure Travel Wonder (Rear Lounge) is superior. Given their backlog and the industry habit of copying floorplans, why hasn't, say, Thor or Coachman, stepped up to mimic it on a Transit B+. I don't want to wait 2 years for a Rear Lounge like the Wonder. The Jayco Rear Lounge missed that mark, especially the bed size, but it's a start.

    Overall a nice motor home. Love that it has no slides!
    Like the rear living room/bedroom area. The big windows are nice. Like the L shape sofa.
    Like the full body paint. Nice design.
    Suggestions:
    Rather than 2 benches in the front, make at least the one on the passenger side a swiveling seat, similar to the front seats. It would be more comfortable than a bench. Make it swivel forward for a 3rd passenger.
    Mount the TV higher. It seems awkward above the sink.
    The exterior storage doors should swing to the side, not up.
    Do away with the over cab bunk and streamline the front cap.
    Nice job Jayco.

    I wouldn’t waste my time watching a review video that didn’t include the actual pricing (unless I was already familiar with that unit and wanted more) so thank you for including the current sales, it means a lot.

    This is a carbon copy of the Leisure Travel vans Unity RL. The only difference is Jayco added the bunk over cab. Leisure also has this on Ford chassis in their Wonder line. It has been available for couple of years. On the plus side, now that Jayco has this same floorplan, people don’t have to be on Leisure Travel’s 2-3 year wait list to get their rv.

    I like this van a lot. I went to the rv show to look at it. I love this layout. I think if they use the front bed system as the wingamm oasi 540, I would've have bought it. Also, they should put the microwave where the t.v. is and the t.v. where the microwave is and the toilet should not be on a pedestal.

    There is no scenario where that is an LTV killer. The LTV Unity Rear Lounge is it's equivalent, and it starts at $168,940 MSRP. Loaded it is $191,530 MSRP. As Matt always says, you won't pay the MSRP. The only thing this has that the LTVs don't is the bunk over cab.
    I'd get an LTV Unity with the corner bed and U-Lounge Dinette with an MSRP of $190,870 loaded.

    Thus is a nice leisure travel van. My dislikes are not so sure about working the back bed before the Murphy bed comes down and don’t like the tv placement. Don’t like the front seats that make a bed. They look uncomfortable. Love the pantry the shower the bunk that sleeps up to 750 lbs. the Murphy bed. It’s a nice leisure van within no slides which is great. Love back room when the seats are up to watch tv. Thank you Matt and Andrea for showing this Rv.

    Great review! We have the Pleasureway On Tour. 2.2 on the Ford Transit and although it is smaller and not on the Mercedes platform, it is $15K less with the following advantages: it is 3 ft shorter, almost 2 ft narrower and a foot lower, allowing us into a lot of very secluded areas. It comes with 200 amps of lithium, induction, cooking, a larger sink, and a more comfortable bed area..
    I must say the Jayco wood finishes are super luxurious!
    I just think as soon as you move away from the true class b you lose a lot of flexibility in where you can go.

    That is so cool, i got a taste for off-grid working from home using an Ecoflow River Pro which i recently did a review for, and its changed the way I see work now, there's no need to be stuck in an office for the rest of my life. Now the inspiration is to get an RV/Motorhome and work on the road and live off-grid.

    I own a class B. This motorhome is fantastic! Two things that would go a long way in improving the layout. The first would be the lounge in the front. If there was some way to swing a pedestal table so that you would not have to mount the table every time that you wanted to eat. For our previous class be, we found that so cumbersome that we bought a small folding picnic table that we used instead. The second thing that needs to change is the rear bed. That is way too much work to go through every single day in order to convert to a bed. Put the bed on an elevator or something in such a way that you keep the lounge when the bed is up in the air. That would make a huge difference. Remember, we love class B motorhomes because we like nimble, and efficient.
    I would be remiss if I did not mention the great things about this unit. Firstly, THE BATHROOM/SHOWER! WOW! They knocked it out of the park. The kitchen is magnificent! The huge fridge, the pantry, the convection microwave, and the cabinetry! I love the MB chassis.
    I agree that having the sale price available is huge for the consumer. It is much easier to plan your expenditures having a good idea what it will take to buy an RV. Most of us hate haggling, and the mind games that go with it. As always, great review!!!!!

    • @travellingslim
      @travellingslim 2 года назад +1

      The design is a copy of the Unity RL from Leisure Travel Vans and in the Unity, those two seats turn into a single bed that is quite long (about 6'6" can sleep comfortably). I agree though, on both the Unity and this, I don't really see those seats being used very much as seats, at least being used primarily (maybe for some guests on occasion)

    • @FuzzyChesterfield
      @FuzzyChesterfield 2 года назад +1

      @@travellingslim that’s right! I forgot about that! Since there’s a bunk over the cockpit, it isn’t necessary here. But, yeah. That Unity is amazing. Last summer, we were looking for one, but they were extremely hard to find. So, we went nuts and ended up with a Fleetwood Pace Arrow LXE 38f. Wasn’t planning on a 40 footer, but 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • @kathyb2201
    @kathyb2201 2 года назад +2

    If you're going to claim that it's lower priced, you should check the other manufacturer's MSRP first. This is a lesser copy of the LTV Unity RL floorplan and the Jayco is more expensive. The only advantage I can see on this one is that the lead time might not be as long as an LTV. I wish RV Retailer sold LTV so you could see what this RV looks like when it's really well done. Pleasureway is only makng B vans these days, so not competing with this model.

    Thank you for giving the sales price again. I love your reviews because the consistency of what you compare in every unit helps me compare apples to apples. As for 3 things I like, no slides, over cab bunk and the rear lounge. I have been searching for models with a rear lounge like Lazy Daze has with lots of windows so I can sit and paint while enjoying the view. Hopefully more manufacturers will start putting a rear lounge in smaller motorhomes. I've been focused on Class C's but you have been showing some fantastic B+ motorhomes.

    Where to begin? 1. No side cameras. 2. Outside storage needs to reflect REAL WORLD RV use: Measure Actual chairs, table etc. Then fit in a larger outside compartment (Hint: change rear cap design. I understand the weight limitations of these Sprinters, but these items don’t really weigh all that much. 3. Living room tv in the wrong location. Looks like they placed it to share the input wiring. Also, how many seatbelt locations? Keep up the Great Work! Stay safe!

  • @travellingslim
    @travellingslim 2 года назад +21

    Well, it's certainly a carbon-copy of the Unity RL from Leisure Travel Vans (aside from the bunk-over-cab which appears to be an option thankfully). The pro's I see hare are: you can probably get one of these faster than ordering a Unity RL and it seems pretty much the same price (if Unity RL's $164k is sales price and not MSRP before discounts) and you'll probably have better luck getting any warranty work done compared to a Leisure. The con's: Bed seems much smaller compared to Unity. Window situation in back not as good as the Unity. Rear styling with the bed down to me screams "every RV ever" with that wall color and that RV mattress that looks like one of those hard-foam ones every RV gets that folks throw out after one night of sleeping.
    Overall a solid effort and pricing, and this will likely sell in today's still-hungry market. Will be interesting to see owner's experiences with build quality and resale value down the line compared to Leisure.

    Love seeing a great layout on a B class unit without any slides. It is also nice to hear the sale price along with the MSRP.
    I agree with Andrea, I would get rid of the kitchen area TV in lieu of a portable projector against a solid wall, which could also be used outside if you wanted. You could us the TV space as a 2nd pull out spice drawer
    I wish the bathroom door had a magnet latch like the shower door has to close off the whole bathroom without being cramped.

  • @lyndonfoster1090
    @lyndonfoster1090 2 года назад +2

    I encourage prices not for competitive reasons but it let's people decide if a unit is a realistic choice for them or not,which is important when shopping. I have learned a lot about RVs since watching Matt's channel and it is great that he and his wife do them.
    As for this new Jayco, I agree the TV in the kitchen is in the wrong place. It needs to be in a swing out from the upper bunk or something, but not at the sink. a spice rack or something would be better. The rest of it, is pretty nice for a small couple but limited fo taller people i think. I am worried too about the horsepower at altitude and wish it had swing side storage doors outside as upper opening get in the way,and I wish it was 50 amp too as one can never have too much power.
    but keep up the good work Matt and Andrea! Keep safe.

  • @larrygray1557
    @larrygray1557 2 года назад +1

    Glad you are mentioning current sale price as it save me some site research and thought it was interesting "accidently" showing the sale price window sticker during your walk-around. With my living in an RV One city, that sticker is normal for inventory on their lot and occasionally shown online. Likewise with the RV Retailer corporate sister in Texas. Another key feature I love is that both have pdf downloads of the factory generated window sticker itemizing actual options for that unit. Sadly, the pdf hadn't been uploaded for the unit reviewed, nor the twin Entegra Quest 24N models incoming to the Texas dealer. (Having Jayco and Entegra twins is great for availability, but far prefer Jayco's paint scheme to the Entegra busy swirls).
    Great to see the Jayco copy of the LTV RL, but due to the issues I knew of and mentioned in the review, tend to lean toward the FX (small slide resolves the jumpseat issue) floorplan or the classic murphy bed "R" floorplan with it's two living areas (not the single either/or living area floorplan) of other manufacturers. That should be huge in terms of reasonable availability as at my age it is asking a lot to give away 3 years of my life awaiting delivery. Matt and Andrea, you will understand that as you get older.
    The N is a great floorplan and much to like, and I believe the corresponding RL floorplan is LTV's highest demand seller. Glad to see that Jayco kept some of the innovation like the counter extension is part of the jump seat. Like noted earlier, if ordering from LTV, the RL would be my first choice, but in the Wonder as the FX would probably edge out the RL in the Unity.
    Dislikes? Noted earlier that great the Jayco copied a rather innovative floorplan, but the key word is "copied". Nothing is perfect, so why copy when with a clean slate, the word should be "improve." Lack of comfort in the jump seats was a known issue - opportunity to improve. Likewise, the bed. Throughout the industry the "short queen" 70-75" rather than 80" is normal, but consistently keep the 60" width. LTV dropped it down the 57" so why did Jayco copy when had the opportunity to improve by simply adding the 3" back in? If you do a Transit based floorplan (please), here's a hint - raise roof slightly to accommodate ducted air rather than putting in that noise monster installed in the Wonder.
    While normally I like the non-overhang front, in this case I far prefer the overhang option on the reviewed model. By photo, rather than retaining the aerodynamic design of the overhang by simplying shortening it with minor adaption for slant angle, not certain what Jayco was thinking (or not thinking) with that B+ bulbous superstructure as it certainly doesn't keep the corporate signature identity common in their entire C line.
    Final dislike - Price. This has me scratching my head, as it seams "less is more". While the lack of slide and not duplicating construction with overlapping floors and ceiling has a positive impact on that great OCCC, it also reduces construction costs. Why is the MSRP higher than the other Melbourne Premiere (or Entegra Qwest) floorplans that have the slides and more involved construction requiring more material.

    This is a phenomenal entry into the B+ market. I do think this ends up being more expensive than the Leisure Wonder RL for essentially the same RV except the bed over the cab. Although, as you were able to give us the sales price, I imagine they're pretty competitive. Especially since you wouldn't need to go out of the country to get this one. It isn't a Leisure Travel Van killer but it is definitely going to do well competing against them. My only dislikes are the high gloss cabinets and the price honestly, everything else is amazing.

    • @travellingslim
      @travellingslim 2 года назад +3

      A fairer comparison would be to a Unity RL which is also on the Mercedes chassis (of course it's going to be more expensive than the Ford chassis on the Wonder). When comparing to Unity, it's actually about the same price, give or take a couple thousand depending on what options you choose.

    Nice layout. I like that you can give the sales price. Not fond of Mercedes, but a nice RV none the less.

    Not bad! I prefer Class C but I may consider this model a B+ as a confirmed bachelor who has no wife or kids to worry about. The Class B Sprinter vans are to small for my liking. This one seems just about right.

    It’s not competitive with leisure travel or pleasure way unless the quality is top notch. Most rvs not good enough quality.

    I can understand the reason for not giving sale prices. As customers knowing your sales mantra we assumes as customers we can get s better price if we are serious about a purchase.

    It is said imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but Jayco will never come close to deliver the quality found in LTV and Pleasureway products.

    Damn, Andrea is looking fine in the vid. As for the vehicle, the back sofa/Murphy bed adds a lot of flexibility. Hopefully they incorporate that idea in more small C’s. I just wish it had a true dinette.

    Wait.... isn't this a complete clone of the 2021 leisure travel van unity RL?
    Honestly I'd rather see that floor plan be cloned by others, ideal b+ material

    While not what I would want, I can see this as a solo unit or day tripper. Price is not bad and the cargo is good for a B+

    Wait, you're acting like Jayco stepped out on a limb and took a big risk, and other manufacturers are going to rip off Jayco's design.
    You mean the design they ripped off of Leisure Travel Vans?

    Love this RV's floorpan, especially with the cab-over bunk - excellent for grandkids or storage. This is a huge plus over LTV who don't take advantage of this space. This is the first time my wife has been interested in an RV that isn't a Leisure Travel Van. Thanks for sharing the sale price. It really matters when so much decision making is made on-line. We enjoy watching your review channel almost daily.
    Three things we love about you: 1. You are entertaining! 2. You are knowledgeable! 3. We love the two of you as a team! Three things we don't like about you: - ... can't think of a single thing!

    You do know this layout is a 100% copy of a LTV model, right? There’s no innovation here other than slapping cheap substitutes together in an hour in the shape of what craftsmen are spending days doing right at LTV.

    What a cute motorhome. Love hearing sale price. Hopefully you can actually have water in the tank when traveling. Apparently for jayco that voids warranty in some RVs.

    I really prefer the Leasure travel. First the cabinets are bigger, and you can have it on a Ford chassis ( less expensive than the Mercedes-Benz when we go at the dealer.)
    For me it's just a poor copy
    I love to know the sale price

  • @lkayh

    This is an awesome layout, but how many people does it really need to sleep? The bunk should be plenty. I’d rather totally skip those seats behind the cab (and the additional bed). Move the table so it works with the seats in the cab, or back to the living/sleeping area. Use that space to expand the bath and add more interior storage. Those cabinets are cute but tiny.
    And yes, the sale price is very helpful. People who love this smaller RV might still be shut down by a price over $2k. Knowing that the sales price drops nearly $40k makes it more doable for a lot of folks.

    Now this video is back to format I love! Good, bad and sales price. Nice colors and finishes. Love there is not a clunky over range vent! Would have liked a video inside bathroom with both doors opened. I do think the camp side chair in kitchen could be a bit more comfy. It depends on how captain chairs. This is more like our older Starflyte we are looking to upgrade but wanted the nimbleness. Jay I is now on the very short list.
