Very pretty stitch! Cool tip about the elongated stitch vs. the shorter one. Very helpful! Thanks for sharing!

I just love your tutorials. I love the fact that you keep repeating the stitch so I don't have to keep stopping and rewinding to learn. Thank you so much.

I tried both the cobble stitch and crunch stitch...I like both of them. I'm currently working on both as a blanket.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!! I am so confused... It's supposed to be multiples of 2, so to practice I made a chain of 20. but starting and ending with a slip stitch leaves me 19?? And then the same on the next row with starting and ending on a half double??? I really like this stitch and want to use it, but that part is driving me crazy! Especially since I am super OCD about counting my stitches, pretty frequently... can someone please help?! Is this how it is supposed to be?? Start with multiples of 2 and then it ends up being an odd number after the first row, and stays that way?? Thanks in advance for any help!! (Also lasting this comment as a reply to other people's comments who seem to have used this stitch, since the video is a few years old I don't think I will get an answer otherwise... Sorry, not trying to be annoying!! Thank you!!)

You weren't kidding when you said it was a bit difficult to see at the beginning where to put the stitches. Thank goodness you were not kidding when you said it got easier to do! I've just recently taken up crochet again - big goal is to use up all my wool. I've been loving your tutorials on stitches - easy to follow , and it's filled me with ideas on how to use it.

@@neesacostello9821 When you look at the multiple, you need to include a turning chain - so it's 2xchain + 1, on the foundation chain.

Ok that helps some. Still don't understand how I'm losing 2 stitches at that point though, starting with 20 +1 and ending up with 19. but at least that explains the part of starting and ending on the same stitch. Thank you so much for taking the time to read that comment I had left and respond! I appreciate it!!!

Because you are starting your first stitch in the chain “next to” where your beginning chain ended you will only have 19. You’re right.

I think it's funny how you said you were doing a double treble instead of a half treble which was what you were doing. I used to get the double and half double crochet confused because they both have the word double in them. At first, I thought yarn insert and have three loops on the hook and yarn over pull through all three was a double and I thought half double was yarn over insert yarn over pull through, yarn over, insert, yarn over, pull through two and yarn over, pull through two was a half double.

Help! I keep trying to do this simple stitch but I get to the 8th or 9th rows and somehow I keep messing it up. I’ve frogged this project like four times now. I’m counting my stitches carefully but I’m getting messed up.

    • @bellacococrochet

It helps to remember that if you start the row with a slip stitch, then you should end the row on a slip stitch; if you start with a chain two (which counts as your first half treble) you should end on a half treble too. This should help you keep track of which row you're working for the repeat 😊

It can be really confusing because although you chain a multiple of two, by working into the second chain and skipping that first one, you're then working with an odd number, which is what you need for the pattern to work correctly. 😊
