Well as far as I have seen almost every recent release gets all 3 formats. Sure there's the trick of releasing the Blu-ray and some time later the 4K. Very slick very talented of these studios!😡 And now even boutique labels are upgrading their catalogs. I personally don't mind because if I like the movie a lot I buy it on every format. But I understand most collectors being pissed of by this trend. Good rant and cool video Mike!👍
And when you get it getting disappointed over a bad transfer. To the point of boycotting said release. Like Goldeneye 007. I just stuck to my laserdisc. The level of DNR was that bad.
@@Dark.RoomReviews I’ve shown different sections of it over the years. For the entire collection in 1 video, that would have to be a mega movie master request as that would take a lot of time and work to put together.
Do not double dip, have a wishlist and budget $$$ stick to it. Double dip and u missed out on that other film 9n ya wishlist. Studios cutting own wrists playing this dirty game of wait and see. Guess what i will wait out and wont purchase, dont blame the consumer for low sales. We have budgets too. I wont pay for a DVD ; extra few $ u got a bluray. 4k is good for old classics however after seeing JC and glossy AI restorations, i have at times gone back to Bluray. In meantime am waiting for "Master & Commander" on 4k
I want Jack Frost with Micheal Keaton in 4k.
It’s still stuck on dvd 🤷♂️
@@HomeCinemaEnthusiast That would be awesome! That’s a good family movie.
Do y’all wait for the 4K to be released?
You know what movie I want on Blu-ray or 4k it was on HD DVD balls of fury
@@IDoctor_WhoI That would be awesome if that got a 4K upgrade! Do you think it will?
@ I hope it’s only on dvd and hd dvd but not bluray
@@IDoctor_WhoI

Waiting for even a Blu-ray is tough at times
@@Dark.RoomReviews Absolutely!! What movies are you still hoping to see on Blu-ray?
Well , Dantes Peak was announced for 4k. I'm hoping the movie Volcano' gets the same treatment next year
@ And did Daylight get announced for a 4K? I heard that’s a good disaster film.

Still surprised Poor Things has not released on 4K.
@@bigfil2093 Has most of that Director’s filmography gone to 4K?
@ not sure, haven’t checked, but the color palette of Poor Things seems like it’d be a good fit for HDR
Mike, will you ever show us your physical media collection?
