@@GenX_in_the_wild Absolutely. Not even many casuals know the difference between the DVD and Blu-ray! Why do you think that is? Did Sony and other companies not properly market to the masses when they first came out?
I'm hoping in 2025 people that quit collecting, or buying physical media will get back into it. Even if only a little bit. I've been focusing on quality over quantity the past year. Those Hamilton Book price cuts sometimes talk me into buying 10 movies for a $1.95 a piece that I probably wouldn't purchase otherwise. Happy New Years to you!
Hi Mike, I highly recommend picking up Riddick. I have it and this transfer is pristine! I dare say Shout Factory did an even better job than Arrow did on The Chronicles of Riddick. I have that video also but I was blown away by Shout Factory’s transfer. The visuals and audio are excellent! 👍🏻
@@Dark7Tidez Hopefully pickup in a sale. Scream Factory hasn’t seen to have had many awesome sales as of recent though besides their going out of print shout stuff. I wonder why? Do most buy them at day 1 prices?
That is good news that alien Romulus is stll number 1 on the market sales charts. And I think alien Romulus will be in the top 6 on sales charts at least for couple weeks. Bc alien Romulus is a good alien sequel & the people that didn't go to the movie theater and watch it. Are picking it up either on bluray or 4k. And I think the market chart sales will continue being strong bc of all the upcoming releases. That have been announced for January & February for a bluray & 4k release
It does the heart good to see a Godzilla film in the top sellers. Oh look at those 4Ks % they're gaining ground. I too say there's no reason for physical media outrageous prices. But as a horror fan unfortunately some titles that were not even limited went out-of-print fast because of how well they sold. Will they come back in stock or reprinted? Maybe. But maybe not. That's where FOMO kicks in lol!😂 I'm never gonna forget the Black Friday only Four Flies On Grey Velvet 4K set from 2022 that sold out the same day and never came back. Anyway good numbers and cool video Mike!👍
After all these years and 4k only has the same market share 3D had at its height...and they've taken that away from discs. As for pricing, guess you aren't up on current events. Prices are going to go up, along with everything else, per the incoming "administration." People will have less disposable income. $45 steel books will seem like the "good old days"...assuming some studios don't drop them completely.
@megamikethemovieman It will vary. Some may quit...I've seen RUclips vids of some quitting, as many people are starting to stockpile $ in general in preparation for the year to come. Others will sell their collections (seen plenty of ads for that). Many will certainly buy fewer discs than before. It doesn't help when a certain individual declares an invasion of Mexico...where most discs are made/replicated.
@@mlowe7245 It’s awesome! Different than the American blockbuster action ones, much more a human drama story. Hopefully that studio does more Godzilla ones.
Watched part of th Ravens game. Then turned on basketball
4K Blue Rays picked up. Movies still coming out slowly to be released. Hope you had a Merry Christmas. We just stayed home.
@@craigosterberg5045 I did the same thing besides the theaters. Watched a lot of movie at home, what about you?
Mike watched football and basketball yesterday. I’ll watch a movie today.
@@craigosterberg5045 Did you see that brutal Ravens and Texans game? What happen to the Texans offense?
I see a 4k hype on RUclips, but zero mass market advertising or retail activities.. Normal people don't know what that is and buy dvd
