- Hey everyone!
This is a moment i've been waiting for for a very long time!!
Finally got to see the F-35 demo and what better way to see it than be the first airshow in the US for the full demo by the new F-35 Demo Team!!
Filmed today (29-3-2019) as the plane did a practice rehearsal over Melbourne!!
Hope you all enjoy!!
Haters will always hate, people that don’t know jack will always shoot their mouths. Flew the Viper for 24 years, and I’ll tell you, that was one impressive demo, by a very impressive jet! Great job Dojo!
@W J Which people are canceling the jet?
@W J foreignpolicy.com/2018/06/22/the-countries-where-f-35-sales-are-taking-off/
@W J The only places orders have been cancelled are in the USAF, which was done by a former Boeing executive in favor of Boeing F-15X (wonder what's happening there), and eventually Turkey, and that's by the seller, not the buyer.
@W J Doesn't fly like one?!
@W J Thought you trolls already lost trying to get the program canned --- now the 35 is out waltzing through missiles systems as the Israelis play around in other people's airspace. More countries want to buy it today than ever before -- they're turning people down, not canceling orders. The order for the 15 missile truck didn't come at the cost of ANY F35s. Still making stuff up I see.
That pirouette just after 2:15 and again at 5:40 was perfect on its axis. Perfectly trimmed rotations! Amazing!! When viewing from the sides as it flies by, you would not think the trim would be so perfect that it could handle such a maneuver with such perfection . Amazing for sure!!
I wanna take a moment to thank the Camera Man for not zooming close, thus giving us a better Perspective of aircraft. I noticed other videos they are so zoomed in you cant see how tight of the turn
The camera man would be me haha thank you though. I like to get big picture to put some of the maneuvers in perspective
I can't get over the acceleration and climbing capability. "All ate up with motor!" Fantastic filming too. Great job!

Cory Stansbury not compare to other jet fighter planes . Like SU-35 can eat a F15 for first then this on second . SU -35 do not have to use it's radar locate the F- 35 all the SU ploit has is use he forward looking infrared thermometer .
@@jajasmile4473 The f 35 has a very high power to weight ratio, even more than an f 15.
11:38 "can't turn, can't climb"
I remember people said that. Either Russian trolls and I even think the "National Interest" got in on the F35 hating. Always knew that they were wrong. Saw yesterday's practice and some of today's demonstration and it reminds me of the F22 Raptor, though not quite as maneuverable due to the Raptor's exhaust vectoring. The F35 certainly seems to bank much faster in a much tighter radius than the Raptor.
Blob B Every airplane sheds a ton of energy, thrust vectoring or not, in the high AOA regime. The 35 handles very well in post stall maneuvers, but you’re quite right. You better get the shot off fast, it better hit and the prey better not have a wingman lurking in the weeds.
All that air show stuff with the thrust vectoring is very pretty. But it’s air show stuff.

That sound is just amazing!! Well done Jake! :D
I was there at MLB on Saturday with a huge crowd and it was a superb demo and gave a glimpse at just how advanced the software is on the 35 with the advanced maneuvers it is capable of accomplishing, sans thrust vectoring. The software is even more lethality enhancing in giving the 35, by far the world's most advanced sensor suites. Trust me, in combat, she is one very lethal girl. Also, which I thought was very cool, when the 35 made her "High Speed" pass it came damn close to breaking the speed of sound...the bubble was briefly visible at the rear of the plane and was just starting to go up the fuselage when the pilot banked to kill some airspeed...fastest low altitude pass I've ever seen "at an airshow" (a PhD. Great video! Badass jet! It’s great to see the demo in “public” now!
Crazy views! Nice channel...
Wow, that dude was seriously pulling some G’s there!
Haha, no. He significantly reduced bank angle after 90-120 degrees through the turn because that jet fell out of every turn sideways due to the weight and high drag. Turns were initiated at 85 degrees and 9G became 70 degrees and 3.5-4G due to the drag and jets incapability to continue a sustained turn rate. An F-4 phantom can turn as well. The F/A-18, definitely F-16 can probably out turn this turd twice in 3 rounds.

Beautiful catch, my friend!
This thing can out accelerate any jet out there along with f-22.
F-22 was crazy. There's a video where an F-16 flies past a stationary Raptor at speed. The Raptor then gets going and passes the F-16 in the time it takes to pull the gear up that too in a climb.
That is an extreme change of direction at 11:40......That had to hurt

Massive engine, if memory serves me it still remains the most powerful powerplant ever placed in a jet fighter.
@@David-hw5xk You are correct and the engine will be upgraded.
This article discusses the Growth Option 1 upgrade that has already been implemented Growth Option 2 was approved and implemented in 2018. Check the link at the bottom of my post
The F-35 Could Get a Better Engine
Proposed upgrade would consume less fuel, produces more thrust.
By Kyle Mizokami Jun 1, 2017
The maker of the F-35's engine says it can provide an engine that uses less fuel to create more thrust, improving the performance of the multinational jet fighter. The company, Pratt and Whitney, claims it can deliver the engine by the early 2020s-if the Pentagon and participating countries pay for its development.
The engine, tentatively called F135 Growth Option 1, builds upon the original F135 engine with technology gathered from Navy and Air Force programs. The engine would be a drop-in fit for all three variants of the F-35: the Air Force's F-35A, the Navy's carrier-borne F-35C, and the Marine Corps' vertical takeoff and landing F-35B.
According to Defense News, the improved engine "could improve thrust by up to 10 percent and reduce fuel consumption by up to 6 percent." An increase in thrust could help make the plane be a better dogfighter and respond quicker to new threats, while reduced fuel consumption would increase the jet's range. The F-35A has a range of 1200 nautical miles with internal fuel, the F-35B has a range of 900 nautical miles, and the F-35C has a range of 1400 nautical miles. A six percent decrease in fuel consumption could add up to an extra 72 miles to the F-35A's range.
Pratt and Whitney says Growth Option 1 would also be "cost neutral," meaning that if it is developed, it would cost about the same as the existing F-35 engine. Development costs, however, would be shared by Washington and other partners in the program such as the Netherlands, Norway, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Japan, and others.

The manoeuvre at 9:30 was great !
Yes - thought for a second he was trying to be the B model. I've seen f18 do that but they don't pull out of that flat stall where you are standing on engine thrust tail wise. Such moves shows very high confidence in the f35 by pilot since you have such low airflow - so it's engine + really big control surfaces that do all the work - not airspeed. Transition from that tail stand was also impressive. Tons of power.
@@Albertkallal yeah very impressive and it seemed very fast at times and the fast turns followed by a steep climb showed plenty of power too !

Curtis Hotchkiss why soooo mad, don’t you see a question there? Stupid. 😂😂😂😂 peace ✌️😂😂😂😂😂😂
At 4:45 you can clearly see it pushing Mach 1 with ease and no after burner. My guess is that it can super cruise .
@W J
Well by the pure definition of super cruise the f35 does not. But with a kick of afterburner it can be bumped over supersonic and then you can throttle back down. I don't know if f35 can break supersonic without AB.
@W J Since you are calling people names, why don't you do the same ?? F-35 cannot super cruise .. Do some research !!
The F-35 can supercruise for 150 miles.
no, at combat load F-35 can not super cruise.
Hum but you have to define combat load. Most weapons loads for the f35 are "clean", and thus having weapons on board, or not does not effect top speed.
It is only if you hang weapons on the wings will this issue be effected.
In fact, compared to say f18, f16, Typhoon etc., the F35 will achieve a higher top speed. A f18 tops out at Mach 1.8 at 38,000 feet. but that is WITHOUT any junk on its wings. Hang just 4 aims on that f18, and now your top speed is only Mach 1.3 (and will drop even more as you drop in altitude).
The f35 will still hit Mach 1.6. And remember, the top speed of the f35 is NOT engine + drag, but is a software limit. So, with weapons on board, the F35 will fly faster, and do so with less fuel consumption.
And as you drop in altitude, then the f35 can feed in more throttle, while those other legacy fighters will find their top speed drops even more.
In the Falkland's war, those sub sonic Harriers were able to best and take on Mach 2.0+ Mirage jets. The reason of course at lower on the deck (lower altitudes), the top speed and performance of the Harriers was equal to those Mach 2.0 jets. In fact lower down, the Harrier's were actually better performers then those Mach 2.0 jets. The Harrier was optimised for sub-sonic speeds but had VERY good engine power.
The result was the Argentine fighters stayed up at 30,000 feet, taunting and waiting for the Harriers to go up high (where the vast superior top speed would become a advantage).
Of course, the Harriers would stay down low, taunting the Argentine jets to come down low near the ocean floor. Because Argentines did not have air to air refueling they could only stay out in the battle theatre for about 20 minutes before low on fuel, and having to head back home.
This dance occurred over and over. And when Argentine jets came down low, then Harriers were on even par, and losses of Argentine fighters were terrible if they engaged the Brits this way.
In fact, about 1 year before the Falklands war, a group of Harriers took on and beats the pants against Germany f15's. (and again they used the lower deck trick to nullify the speed and performance advantage of those massive fast and powerful f15's).
So, just lookin at top speed can be VERY misleading.
The F35 top speed is NOT an engine limit, and its performance envelope due to clean hidden weapons results in a fighter that will in real world terms fly faster then f18,f18, Rafael, Typhoon, and will use less fuel doing so.
The f35 engines are not optimized for super cruise, and it does have the power to (edit: stay ) pass the sound barrier without afterburners, but when it comes to the overall flight envelope with weapons?
Well, you better tip you hat to the F35 - it is no dog, nor any kind of slouch when compared to the fighters it replaces.
Keep in mind in Vietnam, we saw the opposite of Falklands. The lighter and less powerfull migs were able to take on the F4 phantom jets.
Of course after the famous top gun school in which pilots were taught to use the huge power advantage of the F4's over the migs then kill ratios return back to 8 or 10 to 1.
The f35 is likely the best fighter in terms of lower altitude performance, and due to clean internal weapons, it will outfly and fly faster then every jet it replaces. Top speed of F35 is NOT engine limit, but is a software limit. I can feed in more throttle when other jets have LONG past their max top speed at full throttle.
Did the FA18 get into air? Doesn,t look like there was to much action on e,other day. John Gumm.
Also, what set up did you use to film this?
The Gen 6 stealth fighter drones we now have will cover this jet in Combat in the near future and when you put the human outside of the cockpit with unparalleled abilities to the performance and technology that makes the F 35 already obsolete this conversation about what it’s capabilities are really have no substance in a conversation. The physics of air combat have gone drone and its capabilities are going to be endless That capacity to change every limit placed on a human body is here in the States right now. War in the sky’s are unmanned and anyone that thinks a manned fighter will be able to defend against those odds will be greatly shamed . We can now do with one drone what a Nation will try to do with 75 manned fighter and the drone will prevail.

no way.
It only takes the Chinese and Russian agency propaganda trolls to find the comment sections of F-22 and F-35 videos. That should tell you how worried they are.
1 way to find out.
First: Fantastic video.
But it shows exactly what has been said about the F-35 - It's an over weight pig.
This thing needs so much Angle of Attack to stay airborne, even at medium to high mach. And with empty weapon bays at that. This looks like we're watching an F-4 Phantom performing with one engine out and full fuel.
Example: 3:27 note as he enters the turn he sets a typical 85 degree bank angle for a 9G minimum radius turn, but after just 90degress through the turn, the jet is falling sideways like a brick as it bleeds speed. Note the pilot reduces bank to approximately 70-75 degrees for much of the remainder of the turn. That's only between 4-5 G's for a sustained, same altitude coordinated turn, which this is. See the graph here krepelka.com/fsweb/lessons/private/privatelessons02.htm
On exit of the 360-degree minimum radius turn, the jet is now flying significantly slower than on entry. It's noticeably sluggish to respond to max-elevator pitch control. It then climbs using it's very good thrust to weight ratio to maintain that speed, that thrust was in full effect through the previous 360° turn, but was far inadequate to overcome the enormous drag created from such a small, highly loaded wing that is obviously operating on the back side of the curve at a G-loading of only 4-5, without a full loadout, or any weapons at all.
It's a turd of a fighter.
And with all that AoA required to simply fly, it's going to be an unstable turd of an A-10 replacement as well. It's like shooting hoops while standing on a basketball.
I disagree that the F-35 is a flying turd. All stealth platforms have some trade-offs but I think it will be a successful platform. However, I agree fully that this is the wrong aircraft to replace the A-10. If they are replacing the A-10 (which I don't think they should) it should be with a purpose-built, less expensive, survivable airframe.
@@sjesgreg It cannot replace a single aircraft mentioned. It cannot fly toe to toe with anything built in Russia since the Mig-21, which would clean it's clock, radar excepting.
@@ascissordollynamedgwen9409 I'm a pilot, and I fly aerobatics. It's the same concepts of physics.
This jet is a turd, I've been to dozens of airshows. I've seen the F-22 perform, I've seen Harriers perform above my head. And I used to live in an MOA (military operations are) and saw F-16s, F-15s and A-10s performing ops on a weekly basis. This thing is supposed to replace all of those jets, except the 22. It cannot. It's pathetic compared to an F-16 in performance. It is pathetic against an A-10 in load carrying ability, survivability, and slow speed stability and maneuverability.
You can see this thing needs about 6 degrees of nose-up angle just to stay airborne at 250-300mph. With empty weapons bays. What a flop.

So that’s what a trillion dollars look like?
Critics are paid to be critics. The stupid that believed them have no excuse.
Putting on a show like this is not the real point of the F-35. Obviously it cannot match the things an Su-35 can do, or even a MiG-29R...but it wasn't designed to. Instead, it was designed to take those planes out very quickly, without being detected (or being extremely difficult to detect). That is the whole point of this aircraft. And there is little doubt that it can do just that. Air forces around the world in real-life mock combat are reporting the same thing: that the F-35 kills them over and over, before they even know they're in the battle space.

Which Russian fighter is the F-35 trying to emulate?
Russian counterparts are not stealth nor do they do the f35s job, the f35 isn't an air superiority fighter its a stealth multi role jet (mainly for air to ground), also afaik the f35 is actually limited by software and newer software increases manoeuvrability.
f35 isnt designed to dogfight but it can still do that just fine (look at its red flag stats) and it has lots of technology that can make up for its agility shortcomings.

Probably about the only place the US military could win a battle. Hasn't done well in Afghanistan, Syria, Vietnam, Korea...
Is it me, or does it seem to fly like an A4? It is an attack aircraft more than anything, cause it sure can't fly like a fighter. Any G4 aircraft once pass the initial volley of missiles, would eat this aircraft alive in a dogfight. It just seems too heavy and slow for a fighter.
the f35 isn't an air superiority fighter its multirole and can dogfight fine with the technology making up for the agility shortcomings.

With the Billons of dollars in this plane along with F22 it should be lot better than a turn n burn a/c. Delays in production alone with Massive cost over runs, better we colaberate with NATO countries on universal fighter. EUROFIGHTER IS very capable fighter and on time on budget,OR revamp F 15 FA18 as proven fighter.
Eurofighters are more expensive than F-35s, and the Austrian Air Force is actively looking to ditch its Eurofighters. In Britain and Italy, F-35s are being purchased in the hundreds to do what Eurofighters will never be able to do. F-35 defeats Eurofighters in competitions often, as it did in Belgium, Denmark, and Japan.
In fact, the wide range of allies using F-35 actually make it the closest we've ever had to a NATO Universal fighter, other than perhaps the F-86 or F-16. But neither of those ever had a chance to be integrated network wise with ships and other forces and sensor fusion.
F-18s outperform F-35s in literally only one metric: maximum speed, and only by .2 Mach.
Mach 1.8 F-18s vs Mach 1.6 F-35s. Payload, radar, stealthiness, maneuverability, electronic warfare, range, everything is done better by F-35. F-15 is nearing the end of its production life, and F-15X was inserted into the budget against the USAF's will by a former Boeing executive, Patrick Shanahan, the current Secretary of Defense.
There's a reason we sell F-15s in their most advanced forms to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and others without batting an eye, while only Israel, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, and other direct and much closer US allies get F-35s.
Also, speed on a 5th gen is better than speed on a 4th gen. A 4th gen's max speed cannot be attained with missiles, fuel tanks, or whatever else loaded. A 5th gen can reach its top speed fully equipped for war. An F-22 can actually go and do Mach 2+ with its payload. An F-35 can actually go out and do Mach 1.6 with thousands of pounds of bombs chilling on the inside.
F-15s, despite being able to get to perhaps Mach 2.5 clean, rarely go above Mach 1.3 in USAF service _at all_ and the time they spend at that speed or higher is measured in minutes, not hours, of flight.
Jani Gumm have you applied for a job in the defence department?, they could use your advice.
Eurofighter is obsolete and expensive, not stealth and with his weapon load under the wings his performances are degraded and his radar signature boosted. You dont know anything about fighter jets!

Sorry, but the F-22 spoiled me over a decade ago. To me; the F-35 is just not a snappy maneuvering plane. Maneuverable enough, I suppose. Just not as much as I expected. Especially when compared to the Raptor and even the SU-27 family of fighters, especially the later incarnations of them. I'm not impressed. That being said; I know most of her capabilities lies within her stealth and weapons systems. We shall see if it becomes a good bang for the buck.
The RAPTOR is impossible to beat. Stealth, super cruise speeds, over the horizon radar, impossible to see, attack's from ambush and travels in packs. NOW fitted with Lasers. STOP all the bed wetting. Have a nice day!!! YOUR DEAD!!!
F 35 walang binatbat sa gripen sa maneuvering.. Pangkaraniwan na lng ung moves nya para TORA TORA lng..
The Su-27 and Su-35 aren't even manuverable enough to avoid hitting the ground.
Single jet is a bad design.
without the single jet im not too sure it could do stovl which was kinda a big part of the f35s purpose.
A way overpriced plane.. The F16s were good enough and so were the F18s. The government loves to spend money.
The F16 is not a survivable day one warfighter unless Air dominance and AA suppression is assured. That’s a big assumption, and one I’m glad the pentagon didn’t just accept as gospel.
This will eat those two for breakfast !!
F35 is much agile than f16 and f16
@@facemaker6899 it is at low speeds and near supersonic speeds.
I think they should bring back the F-86, that was good too, cheaper than the F-18s.
The most expensive flying metal piece of crap this planet has seen
There are far better planes than these.
None in heavy contested air space. This jet out classes all others as a pure dogfighter also in manueverability within visual range.
Ok guys let me know how long the F35s last at sea. Will see how long before the salt air gets to them like it got to the f14s. The f35 is a cool plane for sure but in battle will really find out how it goes. The A4 skyhawk was a real good plane and cheap. These modern day companies rip people off with outrageous parts prices. A f35 engine cost 30 million. I bet it cost half that for the company to make them. The CEOs of these company's are driving around in 140,000 dollar cars to go to there $35 million dollar homes while ripping of the government at the same time. Look at Boeing. Get the MAX 8s out the door will let the airlines test them for us. Who cares about human life.
The F-35 is cheaper than Eurofighter, Rafale or F-18
You can brag and boast about this disaster, but none of that will change the fact that it's egregiously expensive and notoriously unreliable. NOTHING this plane is capable of doing (as feebly as its attempts have been to do what it was designed to do) will EVER warrant the amount of moneys put into the program. Making it EASILY the most expensive aircraft program in the history of aviation. Over one and a half TRILLION dollars. I understand some people's enthusiasm and everyone has the right to their views, but the history of this aircraft speaks for itself and it's yet to have all of the kinks worked out.
You are quite mistaken. The projected program cost by the end of its fifty-nine year service life (2006- 2059 ) is $1.098 trillion USD spread over twelve countries.
It does not matter the entire program costs, it is the cost we pay per fighter. This jet is a bargain at 85 million. Almost less than any western fighter by a high margin.
This thing is a terd compared to the F-14, this is new technology and this is the best we can come up with....? Yawn.......
lol
Love the F-14, grew up next to Miramar in the Top Gun days.... but you sir, are delusional!
Your comment. Yawn.....😫
yes because the f14 is totally a stealth aircraft.....
id like to see the f14 beat an f35 in a combat loadout, chances are the f35 would beat it because of the internal weapons bay.
good demo. but sorry, nothing extraordinary. i've seen better demos from Rafale, Typhoon. plus no touches the Russians when it comes to airshows.
