when I was a young teenager friday and Saturday nights Epping station and the community hall down the road was the place to hang and Abo Henry was the local legend .He saved my brother and me from a bashing by some older guys one night .Once saw him deck 3 guys who were playing a pinball machine. Abo was a skinny guy then but could fight like pro . Never harassed anyone younger than him .One time Saw him run down the steps of the station and jump onto the tracks and take off with the cops running after him .local cops hated him . cheers for the podcast.

Does anyone else have a Dad who spoke like Graham & miss that generation of men (baby boomers) who ALL spoke similar when women weren't around? I mean, doctors, teachers, tradesmen, business owners, etc... All walks of life & income levels. I miss it. My Dad's company worked a renovation job at the late Kerry Packer's country estate ("Ellerston" it might have been named). Even that billionaire spoke similar when out in the fields.

    Enemy of the state
32yrs ago when I was 20,in mount druitt 2770 ,I was receiving death threats over the phone from mt druitt cop shop traced by telecom and all evidence provided too nsw state ombudsman, and a reconciliation took place…but to this day all encounters with police have not been above board or pleasant at all..this is the why…..that cop shop before I arrived in Australia had just sacked 150 corrupt officers….in a royal commission! Seems some remain…clearly racially motivated police ..my white as skin .their data base has me labeled different !

Look up some of these colourful Sydney crims, starting with Darcy Dugan, Stan the man Smith, Arthur Neddy Smith, Lennie MacPherson, George Freeman, Jockey Smith, Dave Kelleher, & all their criminal associates?. That was Sydney's best, from the 1960's, 70's & 80's. The decade of the 1990's, was the decade of the changing of the guard, there was a changing of the guard on the inside(prison system) & on the outside(in the community). And the changing of the guard occurred in the Sydney criminal world, but also in corrective services & in the NSW police force??. That changing of the guard started in the late 80's following a couple of royal commissions (Nagle, Fitzgerald & Wood), then changes in sentencing legislation in NSW with the introduction of truth in sentencing. Major changes in the nsw prison system after the riots, with new minister & commissioner Yabsley & Woodham, loss of remissions for inmates, electricals, etc. The Ron Woodham plan of divide & conquer of the NSW prison population by race segregation & tasty dog biscuits for telling on people they started giving out to good tellers😂?. And by the turn of the century 2000, a new NSW prison system was born, a new type of crim, a new type of screw, a new type of cop & a whole new world now?. And all that change only took 10 years, the decade of the 1990's. The decade of the last of the Mohicans, there's still a few old soldiers left, a shout out to you & God bless you, & the many already in the ground, rest in peace brother's & sister's ❤🙏.

Only 15 min in and this is the best interview with Graham to do date. There's an energy of mutual respect between these two that's self evident early into the piece. Better than Isaac fucking Butterfield anyway.

@sigmadeez420 Yeah, I'll second that. In fact I pretty much said the same thing I said in this comment except to data this interview just knocked the Jubelin interview off the number one spot for best interview.

Alotta Aboriginals back then were either taken from their families you know Stolen Generation and all that or they kept their Aboriginality on the down low in fear of being treated differently which is why some Aboriginal kids grew up not knowing they were Aboriginal it was what it was but this is why in our community we have the dark skin/light skin dynamic because light skin Aboriginals had their own problems dealing with White Australians back in the day it creates a commradery between dark skin light skin Aboriginals but colourism is also another aspect that happens too which is why I got a Uncle called Uncle Blacky because he was Black and another Uncle called Uncle Chalky because he was White it's a interesting dynamic

@@ChiralityPracticality most of Abos stories come from his own mouth. Easy to make yourself look like the shit when nobody else is around to confirm or deny the stories. He's always making himself out to be golden, you don't follow Neddy smith around for that long without doing some shady shit. Both were too close to the police for my liking

One of the best episodes that went right deep in to detail. Street names, get aways, standovers, the whole crime mentality was mad.
