Thanks for the C-5 clip! My dad was a flightline NCO for MATS and MAC back in the 60s-70s, and as an AF brat I saw many aircraft in the traffic patterns of Amarillo, Norton, Rhein-Main, and Jacksonville AF bases. Nothing, but nothing, sounded like a loaded C5-A "FRED" (F-ing Ridiculous Economic Disaster) clawing its way into the sky, and I would always run outside to watch in awe as the grey and white gloss-painted beast slowly paraded by. Planes left quite an impression on me back then, and I'm happily still an Avgeek all these years later... In the last two days I went outside twice to follow Navy V-22 Ospreys passing by my home, thanks to Flightradar24 custim alerts I've setup.
Only you could pull off what you did during the go around portion of this video. Great job that was a lot of fun to watch!
That is one big honkin' plane!
Kevin, stellar videography
That’s very cool! 😀
Love how coverage of everything and anything else comes to a halt when that C-5 comes in. Only until it is finally out of view does the show go back to it's "regularly scheduled programing".
Go around, then come around! 💪🏼✈️
That is one amazing giant. It’s just amazing that something that huge can fly. Great video thank you for sharing 😊
Amazed Kevin new what it was as he struggled with a C130 a couple of days ago!
Great shot.
I see these things every time I drive past Dover Air Force Base. Let me tell you, you truly don’t understand how big these things are, until you see one in person!
This was my favorite aircraft when my dad was in the Air Force.
Good catch getting the gear retraction! I've been watching C-5s go over on their way to Moffett Field since the early '70s, but it's rare that I get to see them actually land. What a beast! I wonder why the 380 gets "Super" status while the C-5 only gets "Heavy"? I'll bet that leaves some _nasty_ wake turbulence behind it.
Nice catch. Before the engine modification that go around would’ve had that old school C-5 Sound. Looked like a Travis Tail
I miss that sound
It's got to be a good one for Kevin to take the camera off the tripod. Great shot, Kevin!
Wow. What a machine!!
Smooth landing! Loved it! Really enjoyed listening to the ATC at the same time. Thank you so much for catching the C-5! GO USAF❤❤❤
Nice catch Kevin. On the fly racking up some firsts 🙌🏾👌🏾
Really great catch Kevin
Love these clips you do, thanks, and don't stop.
Amazing to see these fly. Prestwick in Scotland has had its fair share of them on fuel stops recently. Mega planes!
VERY COOL GREAT CAPTURE LOVE SEEING OUR MILITARY'S TOOLS THANKS KEVIN
Spectacular looking aircraft. Nice work Kevin!
Totally agree Cheryl. An unexpected bonus to the stream for sure. Watched it live and thought Kevin did an amazing job.
@@peterwalsh1357 Hi Peter! Not every day you see something like that! 👍
Made up for no Queens @Cheryl Reichardt - see you on the next LAX stream hopefully!
these were great shows! I was excited when you were on the news Kevin ☺️👍🏼✈️
Great catch
The C-5 galaxy is an awesome machine. Never bettered since its introduction.
That is one LARGE aircraft! I remember seeing one fly overhead as it was on approach to Dobbins AFB in Atlanta...AMAZING...everyone just stopped and watched it.
Yeah that is a BIG BOI.
Loved working with C5s. Great shot Kevin.
All that rain made it to New Mexico as snow! We have a white St Patrick's day
Been inside this aircraft several times at airshows, most recently a few months ago at the Wings Over Houston airshow (also was the last time we saw the Texas Raiders perform before that ill fated collision/crash in Dallas a few weeks later).
The most amazing jumbo ever. I sure miss the GE engines tho.
Beautiful!
😍🔝✈️
Very nice video as always @airlinevideos 💪💪💪
Awesome @AIRLINE VIDEOS keep up the great work let's get you to 600K

Amazing footage of the C5 Kevin ❤
WOW, that was amazing.

Just like at LAX, you never know what you’re gonna get at PHX! on Sunday!
It has my name on the tail! Love it!
the C-5 Galaxy was at lax too i seen a video of it landing in lax 1 day ago
Awesome
Awesome catch of that Go-around, Kevin.,
Incredible machine eh @Gus Leon
@@peterwalsh1357 Indeed, it is.
I live close to Westover AFB we had a flap fall off one of these as it was doing touch and go. It dint hurt nobody!
Living in San Antonio, that C-5 Galaxy is the only HEAVY I get to see with any consistency. Since I was a boy, they come and go from Kelly Field all day, everyday. Great catch Kevin!.
Hefty!💪
I got to fly in a C5 from Mildenhal UK, to Dover in 1987… loud but comfy…
I love that airplane❤❤
OMGoodness - what a catch!! Well done Kevin - that was fascinating. A rare treat. Hope you got back to LA safe n sound. Hello from your London crew : - )
C-5s regularly practice touch-and-go here at Pease AFB, Portsmouth, NH. They are based at Westover AFB near Springfield, MA. Their older engines had a very distinctive and appealing whistling sound. You knew they were in the air and nearby. The new engine upgrades are much quieter and blend in with other air traffic around here. Same with the old KC-135s at Pease. You knew when they flew over the house. Their replacement KC-46s sort of slip on by unless you are looking for them. Much quieter. Alas.
TY,,,,,,WOW incredible very interesting great information super kool,
AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work.
It was worth going to Phoenix for that alone!
Love the C-5. 🇯🇲hope to join thr USAF one day
Very cool
In a previous life, I logged way to many hours in the C5.
Congratulations on 595K subscribers, Kevin 🎉🎉🎉
Here in the UK these massive planes are a frequent sight low in the Skies above the counties of Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire. Taking off or landing at RAF Brize Norton and sometimes at Fairford. The latter being the site of the RIAT "must see" Air show ..
I have flown on C-5 as a space-A dependant flying from Japan to California when my ex was in the military. They are such a cool aircraft with great crews and pilots! My question is why is it landing at Sky Harbor when Luke AFB is nearby....
Thanks for a great video!
It's on time
Quite the wing sag on that aircraft.
I believe these Galaxy aircraft are a lot quieter today than when they used to be are they not?, they were famous for their very loud engines on take off IIRC??
Do you see that all the time in LA?
We've got so used to seeing BIG engines, these look tiny!
Timestamp of the arrival in the broadcast?
Not very modern but I'd like
to see you guys do something on a B-17.
What did she bring in???
It arrived to collect 3 x AH-64E's (ZM728-730) for delivery to the UK Army Air Corps, by flying them to RAF Mildenhall
That thing looks like a flying mall.
nice livery on that one...? LOL
Pretty much blew the approach…oh well, try again…
