Taxi speeds are high back then.

Kind of yeah
@Josue Omari fuck off nigga
@Ayden Myles you too dumbass
That delta MD11at 3:30 is still flying as a Fed EX freighter. The Alaska airlines 737-400 at 5:45 is still flying as a cargo plane. That 767 at 6:09 is still flying. The 747-400 at 6:40 is still flying. The 767 at 7:06 still flying. The MD11 at 9:32 still flying with UPS .The 727 at 11:01 last registered in 2009 status is unknown. All others were either scrapped or I couldn't get the tail numb.
S C Thanks for information ;)
American 767 at 3:50 is also still flying cargo
@@jr13227 It's registered to the New England Patriots.
unfortunately The 747-400 at 6:40 has been retired in 6/2019 by Qantas

I sometimes wish I was born earlier.

WinginWolf Me too... I born 2003 but i want to be born 60s...
Me too
@@nipafilms236 I was born in 1967.
I borned in the year when NWA existed and TWA went bankrupt. I was too young to remember NWA at schiphol
Back when plane spotting was a thrill
Oh, it's a thrill today but just not for the reasons it was back then. Today you always have to worry about some jackass calling the cops on you claiming that you're a terrorist scouting the airport out or some BS story like that.
Yep
You definitely can't be as close, but I still find it a major thrill.
No apps for identifying planes though
3:11 wow the MD-11 looks very gorgeous in old delta livery. 😊
Yes it sure does as the Boeing 727-200. Miss this livery.
Can't believe that Egypt air was at lax
It's kinda sad that most of these jets have been or are soon to be retired...
yeah it feels bad since they are old nowadays
true
Wow. I couldn't believe how dirty the air was in LA back then. It's so much cleaner now.
NO KIDDING
Thats about the only good thing about the present
It's nice to see someone not bashing california for once
That Delta MD-11 looks so beautiful.
How do you differentiate an md11 from a dc10?
@@kinkisharyocoasters dc10 has no winglets while the md11 has winglets the length of the both planes are different and some older dc10s like dc10_10&20 did not have the middle landing gear until the dc10-30&40 had them like the md11
I was only one year old in 1992, what an amazing video.
Nice to see a 767 from American so new.
Greetings from Uruguay.
Its strange seeing a A320 in 93
@@jovanholland36 Certainly. Excellent video
Love the Air New Zealand take off at 3:53, especially how it takes off into the clouds, and NZ is known as the "Land of the Long White Cloud"

@@matthewdunne6889so? At least we know something/aviation unlike you you don’t even know anything-
It’s Interesting to see how planes were back then.
I really wish I could somehow bring them all back when I grow up.
I am so thankful for these amazing videos of an incredible time in commercial air travel, 1988-1998. It really is something to see the 747’s coming taxiing around, coming in on the approach, and taking off. What a marvel those planes are. I was also a fan of the DC-10 which got an unfair rap, my first flight I remember being on was a dc10 USAir flight in 1989. Great memories
Hi,
This was not filmed in 1992. N658UA was not even built and delivered to United until 1993, so I am assuming this was mid 1994 especially based on the Asiana Visit Korea 1994 sticker. Great video!
Also the battleship grey livery of United which is shown in the video was introduced in 1994
Yeah, definitely
What day is that event?
1992 doesn't seem that long ago to me (for whatever reason) but looking at this video and these planes it seems like a generation ago!
PETER ZARI it is not.
Amazingly now to see the mix made with planes of different generations. Some of them still in use and some of them retired. Respect to Old Good Horses B727 and older generation B737. A rare bird 747-300 KLM was there too.
Klm b747-200sud not 300
They just don't make spotting locations like that anymore. Really cool video. Makes me get all nostalgic.
I like how in most of the scenes the pilots wave to you as well. I think that's cool!
Amazing! The old AC and OZ liveries were cool to see, and I went legitimately crazy when I saw the Saul Bass livery on the UA 763, 732, and BAe-146, as well as the NWA 744 and UA DC-10. This is gold!
12:26 my favorite livery, on my favorite airliner. Amazing video all the way through. I remember seeing those AS MD80 series at YYZ. Thank you so much for the memories
No MD80s In Toronto anymore? That surprises me.
i love L.A. and LAX, i love the 90s and i love aviation!
perfect video, 5* and added to favorites.
Perfect sound!
0:54 I forgot there was a time before AA flight 261. Rest In Peace to the flight crew and passengers
N963AS was the aircraft, not N946AS
Some of these aircrafts are still in use. The Alaska Airlines N763AS (@ 5:43) that aircraft has now been turned into a combi. It was first delivered in 1992.
Those United 767-300s are still active too.
N763AS is no longer in Alaska’s fleet and is currently in the scrapyards.
@@JTDanteGaming at least it lasted that long, I love that livery
Tanay.imiss Boeing 737.200huge speed pure sound old planes much better nowadays I really miss this planes nice vedeo nowadays planes look sound a passenger bus.
well fargo bought it 2018
Magnificent! There’s something so thrilling about the sound of jet engines and the sight of commercial airliners. Thank you for this post.
Great video! I really miss the beautiful paint schemes on EgyptAir, Air Canada, Air New Zealand, United, VASP, Cathay Pacific, and Canadian. Also, awesome catch of N658UA at 7:05. I flew on her IAD-ORD back in 07.
just listen to those sounds ... we don't need noise reduction anymore 😢😢😢
I like the Alaska md-83.
Socalfishing11 tf is your problem
The 727s almost sound like rockets.
This is the golden era of aviation
Oh my goodness. What sheer bliss this is. 1080p, check. Transfer to 37" TV screen, check. Transfer sound to surround sound system, check. This was amazing. To be able to watch these classic birds in the old colors from the last of the great era in aviation. It was amazing to watch my favorite 727 in old Delta colors, slowly rotating off of the runway. I love how the 742 and DC10 pilots did the same, slow rotation. Always seemed so magical. Wonderful upload, thank you for sharing!
Ah only 5 words....the good old days!!!
woops, Lol
The good old days is right.
Whole video was worth it just for the United B737-200! Loved it all!
Probably one of the oldest 737s around at the time. United received the first batch of 737-200s built, including the prototype (N9001U, which was also the 5th airworthy 737). That order of airplanes were delivered with the short nacelles and retrofitted with the HPTR later. Interesting that this airplane never received the post-1973 inlet mods and retained its blow-in doors (presumably, until the end).
Fond wonderful memories visiting LA / LAX in the 80s and 90s. This is the airline industry I will always cherish. It was fun being an avgeek in those days. Thanks for the upload and the wonderful memories. 😀😀😀😀😀
I could watch these videos all day. VERY good job!
I miss these days! I just wish I was born in the USA in the 80s just to see these amazing aircraft
awesome vid! love those classics. im happy to see someone with this awesome footage of the canadian 737-200, Delta 727 and Continental MD-80!
Thanks. Awesome memories.
This is later then 1992. The United Grey Battleship livery is shown. That was introduced in 1993.
11:47 into the video. I love those NW colors plus the bird.
So MANY beautiful liveries 😍
I Love These Classic Plane Spotting Videos Ryan! Keep Up The Good Work! 😎
I love the era before a full of A320s
Yeah more diversity in the types of aircraft being flown back on the day hell even in the late 2000s early 2010s nowadays its just 320s and 737s shame
Mr. Bomar definitely has one of the most valuable accounts here on the 'Tube, it's a precious gem that hopefully never disappears before I get my fill.... If I was on my death bed, all I'd need is a constant loop of all these classic aviation videos you've uploaded. Thank you so much!!
Awesome reminder of our yesteryear. I started with CO in 1988 at LAX. Great see and hear some aircraft without the hush kits or newer engines.
1:52 for once a clip where the buzz from CFM56 engines on an A320 are higher pitched than IAE V2500's (1:37) lol. Usually the CFM engines are lower pitched
The Brazillian airplane (VASP) appears at 9:01
I'm very surprised to see Britannia at LAX !
That was one smart livery
...a Britannia 767, Alaska 727-200 Northwest 747-200 and America West 737-200, defiitely a trip down memory lane there. Wonderful video quality for being nearly 30 years old.
Boeing 767-300s N652UA and N658UA are still in use! Just refitted with United's new Polaris seats, in fact.
I miss seeing many of these aircraft and liveries; I regularly saw them traveling as a child! I traveled by a few of these birds over the years. Its crazy to think that many aircraft shown here, such as 747 classics, DC-10s, MD-11s, 727s, are no more:( Thank you for this gem of a video! I think this was taken in 1993 though, not 1992, as I saw the "Visit Korea 1994" label on the Asiana 744, and from a little research, for LAX Singapore Airlines didn't switch from 743 to 744 until 1993.
Never get rid of your RUclips Account. You are the best account ever. I haven't come across one with amateur footage from the early 1960s.
Love it! It's like going back in a time machine. I also love the nat sound too! I hate when people dub music into aviation vids.
This feels just like yesterday!!
Love the whole video but especially the Delta MD-11.....awesome!
Aviation is always great
TANAY.ITS VERY GOOD TO SEE OLD AIRPLNES COMPARE NOW IN PAST GREAT DAYS SPCIALLY 90S DAYS AND ALSO EARLY 2000S I WAS BORN 1993 I WISH IF I BORN SOME EARLY SO I FIND THIS DAYS BUT NOT BAD I SPENT MY CHILDHOOD EARLY 2000S TIMES ITS ALSO GOOD TIMES COMPARE NOW NOT BAD I GROW UP WATCH THIS PLANSES SPECIALLY I MISS OLD UNITED LIVRARY 737.200 SEREIS .CONTENENTAL AIRLNES ALSO . AMERICAN AIRLINES MANY MORE THOSE DAYS ARE SPECIAL MAN I MISS MY CHILDHOOD NOW SPECILLY 2000 TO 2006 MY CHILDHOOD BUT ITS VERY GREAT TO SEE THIS OLD PLANES WHEN REALLY PLANES LANDING TAKE OFF ARE MEMORABLE .
This is rad. Grew up a spotter and recently came back into it.
Another classic video! Great work Craig/Ryan! :)
The variety of aircraft from the 70's to the 90's was endless. I never saw a Delta MD11 before or the United Express aircraft in this video with 4 engines. Flying is a horrible experience today.
Another brilliant look into aviation history, enjoyed seeing the TWA MD80 (and L1011), the Britannia Airways 767 looked very nice and is missed here in the UK. Also nice to see passenger MD11's from Delta & Swissair and 146's too.. just a brilliant piece of film.
Great retro footage!
Back then, US sky was almost ruled only by Boeings and DC's airlines.
Very nice! Good memories of liveries and airliners long gone. Who would have believed a TWA MD80 or SIA 747-400 looks classic one day? Video should be 1993 or 1994 though: the grey UA livery was introduced in 1993 and the Asiana says "visit Korea 1994" (which of course it could have worn in 1993)
American Airlines paint schemes have not changed, well at least until the updated versions. :D
1994 video. I like this. Plus, I like that American DC-10 takeoff. The sound reminded me of Delta 757 takeoff . Beautiful turbofan sound
3:08 Gotta love that MD-11 in its older Delta widget
yes for the Swissair MD11. and dude, that CO MD80 still had the old style tail cone. and that AA DC10 takeoff was amazing. awesome :)
9:34 - That's a close one.
WOW, FANTASTIC VID, BROUGHT BACK SOME GREAT MEMORIES...THX FOR POSTING IT!!!
Look at how smoggy it is!
MD 11 da Vasp em LAX no min.8:56 que nostalgia ver isso , é uma pena que nenhuma Cia. Brasileira faz essa rota hoje?
The airlines do a better job of keeping the outside of the planes clean these days I think.
Now that was good
So many 747-400s
then ETOPS 240 killed it
Back in the good days...

Brings tears to my eyes
man what a pretty plane those 727's where right?
S C pretty, yet one of the reasons for their downfall was the fact they were noisier than most planes
4:17
HL7482
Delivered to Korean air in 1991 and converted to a cargo in 2008(BCF) and retired in 2013
NO WAY YOU EVEN HAVE EGYPTAIR 767-300! You my friend are a true legend!
@6:14 - wow that bird (N652UA) is still in service! @6:48 THE BEST UA LIVERY EVER!
The General Electric CF6; A true masterpiece
I Like that Delta MD-11, That United 737-200 in blue colors looks great that canadian 737-200 also looks awsome, OMG, Northwest Boeing 747-200, I LOVE THE CLASSIC 747, I LOVE IT.
It's interesting that a lot of those planes, are 747-400, MD80, Airbus A320 series, B767. Panes still in use :P
9:18 into the video. That's always something. A Swissair MD-11 in those colors.
The video seems to date around 1994 or 1995 since I saw an Alaska 737-400 (introduced 4/92) along with the United Airlines "battleship" paint scheme (introduced 1993 or 1994).
AIR CANADA 767-200!!! As all we know that could have been C-GAUN "The Gimli Glider!!!
6:26 old asiana airlines b747-400
I love the classic airplanes
Well there not actually what am I saying
Their old airplanes
Gotta love AA's Luxury Liners!
9:00 ohh Vasp MD-11!!
Does it have to be Starbucks frapp? I was more of in the mood of an iced latte
Absolutely allowed :)
I love your content, man!
1:40 That's my favorite one.
Nice to see some airlines that we lost along with aircraft flying no more, in a video Morris Air a plucky little carrier was fun to fly in. The new United color schemes were the worst. I liked Canadian as Canadian Pacific before the merger
I'm a former Continental Employee and these videos are priceless. Keep them coming. Do you have any from Seattle back in the 80's and 90's?
So beautiful! Awesome video :D
They are so gorgeous
I always thought the UA livery (the gray and blue one) was introduced in 1993!
You even have airlines that no longer exist today.
They were a SLC based airline who eventually were purchased by SWA...
N652ua at 6:10 is still with united airlines and soon should be painted in their new livery. That would make it 5 different liveries all with the same airline, pretty unheard of.
