Vox is probably my 2nd fave on the show (like Coley, my fave is Lucifer), he's just really fun. He's an awful person who's also super-pathetic and insecure, with a one-sided "rivalry" with Alastor that reads like an over-dramatic mean girl who got turned down for the dance by her crush and has been SUPER salty and vengeful about it ever since (they say in the show Alastor turning them down was for a business partnership, and for Alastor it probably was, but Vox seemed to have genuinely wanted something romantic with him). And it's all wrapped up in a package that just SCREAMS "former theatre kid." He's just so unintentionally hilarious.
Watching the fandom go from pitting Lucifer and Alastor against each other to realizing "WAIT A MINUTE they could be DADS!" was the best thing to come from this show.
Well, not ALL of the ships, but the most common/canon ones, yeah. Well, actually not even there, because I'm not seeing Lucilith, so... And Chardio is more commonly known as Charlastor or Radiobelle.
Fun moth facts: They produce aphrodesiacs, as does Valentino, and its implied its done with his saliva, adding more layers to him licking charlie. And when Angel almost gets drugged at the bar, it was using Vals drugs, hes involved in almost every level of Angels abuse even outside of the set. Moths cant fly properly if they are missing an antennae, and Val's is damaged. Based on pictures, it was intact before Vox and Alastor fought, and now its damaged so he cant fly properly. Vox activates his mesmerism towards Val, but most moths' vision isnt good, so he didnt see it. But when Vox turned up the brightness Val noticed and was briefly focused.
I just love the idea of Val getting mesmerised by the glow of Vox's tv head and just smacking head-first into Vox's screen-face one day, like an actual moth, lol.
kind of strange to me, tbh. fizzarolli can get ALL of his limbs replaced, but val, AN OVERLORD, who works closely and is romantically entangled with the most prominent inventor in all of hell, CAN'T get a prosthetic antenna? does he not want to? isn't flying a huge advantage to have that one would be loathe to lose? just cant comprehend why he doesnt have something to fix it.

Alastor and Lucifer are definitely the epitome of the "they were never together, but they're definitely exes now" dynamic, and I for one I'm here for it.
Lucifer said "usually i charge a sacrificial lamb" and showed Dazzle on the chopping block. In the final fight, he shows up shortly after Dazzle dies. No i dont think its the cause but i do think it was a deliberate reference.
I think it was the cause personally, but only because the deal Lucifer had with heaven for the exterminations exempted hellborns. So when Dazzle, a hellborn, was killed the deal was voided and Lucifer could intervene! It's still sad Dazzle died but it at least gives some meaning behind it

I am a bit disappointed that Vaggie didnt have to address her codependency, in fact it got rewarded. She had to fight for love, but didnt have to confront her own issues other than the lie that they moved past pretty quick.
She hasn't had to confront her issues _yet._ It was rewarded _for now._ If it doesn't eventually blow up after too many things are stacked, I'll be mad about it. It would actually seem kind of cheap if at this point in the story it was addressed, we only just got to know it was a problem. Even if canonically Charlie and Vaggie have been in a relationship for a while, it wouldn't feel earned for the viewer at this point, we haven't seen the past damages, we've only seen ONE issue stemming from this. The problems with a codependent person are a slow build in real life, so a resolution should come after a fair few problems of varying intensity get the chance to stack up.
i think the reason the vaggie being an angel was such a big deal was she was an exterminator specially. if she was any old angel she would've told charlie but she was a part of the thing they were fighting against
I only know him from Tangled the Series and yeah... the Varian stans were... nice. It's a little weird going from a child character to a Daddy character, but it's not jarring at all just listening to him! And the fact I haven't seen a Ready As I'll Ever Be animatic/reference is clearly a sign that the internet wants to move on from that era. Wish they'd do the same with The Other Side lol. Or just, recognizing that if anyone's gonna be starting a fight than it's gonna be Charlie, or maybe Eve/Roo. Lucifer and Lilith clearly don't want the Heaven rebellion to happen, which makes the song contradict the character. I'm not sure if Varian specifically was what you were alluding to but yeah, the man's voice is straight heavenly. Straight fire, if you will. Now, I'm a little surprised I haven't seen this mentioned in any fic centred on a certain musician yet...honestly everyone in Heaven/Hell seems to spawn in with a naturally Braodway-talent singing voice (especially contrasting with characters like Vaggie and Husk, you'd think they wouldn't be that talented lol) so maybe Jeremy's just eh in comparison. Which is hilarious.
Not to mention Jeremy Jordan also played Light Yagami in the English concept album of Death Note: The Musical- (he just voiced him he didn’t actually play him since it was only a concept album there was no official English production) he was also in the Bonnie and Clyde musical and Newsies-
Alastor is so hannibal coded and it's probably why he's my favorite. Also bless the casting director for the use of Christian borle, Jeremy jordan, Alex brightman, Erica henningsen and so many other musical talents.
He's Hannibal coded because they're basically in the same "field." Alastor's confirmed backstory is that in life, he was a radio show host who moonlit as an elusive serial killer who cannibalised the bodies of his victims. He was only "caught" post-mordem, and his death was because one night a random hunter mistook him for a deer and shot him in the head, while Alastor was out in the woods burying the remains of one of his victims. (That's why he sometimes has an "x" in his forehead, Sinners have those when they recieved a mortal wound at or just before, death. For instance, Angel Dust died of a drug overdose, so no Xs). It's also why he's a deer in the afterlife, their demon forms are usually a reflection of their sins, death or "something they deeply dislike about themselves."
I cannot tell you how far this dumbass demon cartoon has dug its little claws into my brain over the last month. It started off innocently enough with me watching my friend Cholvoq’s redesigns of the characters on Instagram before slowly spiralling into watching clips of the show on YT to then actually watching it in its entirety with my bestie and my mom. I just randomly watched Helluva Boss, got addicted to it (watched every helluva episode in 2 days) then I got told that its only the sister series to hazbin hotel.. Actually the day I watched Helluva Boss, the last Hazbin Hotel episode dropped. Normally I am obsessed with a fandom for like 1-2 months and I quickly lose interest. But with Hazbin, man, I still have as much interest as when I first watched the show and that is crazy.

There has been a famous theory going around that Lilith is the one who holds Alastor on a leash since they both disappeared on the same timeframe (7 years). It would explain why he can't stand Lucifer and why he is so persistent in wanting to have favor from Charlie by contract. In the pilot, there was even a moment wherein Alastor was staring at the Morningstar Family portrait and seemed to smile wider when focusing on Lilith so this may be a plotline that has long been in the making.
Ya know I totally thought Lilith being the holder of Alastor's leash was canon for some reason and Idk when it happened or how it happened bc I've been binge watching reactions to Hazbin Hotel for days now 😂😂😂 So I was definitely thinking the same thing about Charlie being a way in to get to Lilith

The only thing i am disturbed by and I don’t even watch this show, is the amount of very young children that are excited and or know the names of all the characters when they browse merch in artist alley. Like I helped my friend out last weekend and she had new Hazbin hotel merch and multiple times there were kids with their parents (who either did not know or did not care) and those kids were very excited for the merch my friend sold.

I loved your reactions to this! Almost as much as I loved the actual show! Alastor is DEFINITELY my favourite in this, his whole concept is amazing (old and reliable medium vs mass minsinformation, his power of absorbing demons and using their voices in his radio, his basically eldritch deer god form that I NEED MORE OF), he's every bit as sassy and chaotic as needed, his voice acting is great and his relationship with Niffty is just off the charts. Of course I like everyone in the show (well, except for, y'know, Adam and Lute and the other extreminators), and I guess after Alastor, Charlie and Lucifer are my second favourites. "Hell's Greatest Dad" is probably my favourite song from the show, both cause Lucifer song exposing a lot of the initial issues in his relationship with Charlie, and cause Alastor absolutely kills it after invading it. Overall I really CANNOT wait for season 2. Definitely hope to see more content on it from you! ...Did I watch Helluva Boss just to sustain the post-watching depression for Hazbin Hotel? Mayyyyybe...
What sucks most about Dazzle’s death is that it was needed for the plot. Lucifer couldn’t interfere with the exterminations until a Hellborne was killed, thus rendering the deal made with Heaven null and void.
I love how we focus so much on Angel in this season, it's a perfect set up for him to be redeemed, only for them to pull the rug out from under us and redeem Pentious. The two theories at this time are that Angel's not quite there yet, or that Angel can't be redeemed because Valentino owns his soul and you kinda need to that change locations lmao. I suppose there's also a third in that whatever entity decides someone is worthy of Heaven just doesn't think Angel was worthy yet, but that kinda ties into the first theory, just more about the redemption process itself as opposed to Angel's actual progress. More than anything (pun fully intended), I'm excited to see more of the Vees, more of Lilith, hopefully more Carmilla, I'd love to see Charlie actually train her abilities, and I can't wait to see more of Charlie's arc as she learns how to truly redeem someone (though it is partially resolved in S1). It was subtle, but I really liked it. People like to get on Charlie about her methods and how they shouldn't work and she doesn't know what she's doing and like, that's the point lol? Charlie doesn't actually know what it means for someone to be redeemed in this world, and that's shown on multiple occasions. She's not stagnant, she's growing. You just gotta pay attention ^^

I am a bit disappointed that Vaggie didnt have to address her codependency, in fact it got rewarded. She had to fight for love, but didnt have to confront her own issues other than the lie that they moved past pretty quick.
She hasn't had to confront her issues _yet._ It was rewarded _for now._ If it doesn't eventually blow up after too many things are stacked, I'll be mad about it. It would actually seem kind of cheap if at this point in the story it was addressed, we only just got to know it was a problem. Even if canonically Charlie and Vaggie have been in a relationship for a while, it wouldn't feel earned for the viewer at this point, we haven't seen the past damages, we've only seen ONE issue stemming from this. The problems with a codependent person are a slow build in real life, so a resolution should come after a fair few problems of varying intensity get the chance to stack up.

I only know him from Tangled the Series and yeah... the Varian stans were... nice. It's a little weird going from a child character to a Daddy character, but it's not jarring at all just listening to him!
And the fact I haven't seen a Ready As I'll Ever Be animatic/reference is clearly a sign that the internet wants to move on from that era. Wish they'd do the same with The Other Side lol. Or just, recognizing that if anyone's gonna be starting a fight than it's gonna be Charlie, or maybe Eve/Roo. Lucifer and Lilith clearly don't want the Heaven rebellion to happen, which makes the song contradict the character.
I'm not sure if Varian specifically was what you were alluding to but yeah, the man's voice is straight heavenly. Straight fire, if you will. Now, I'm a little surprised I haven't seen this mentioned in any fic centred on a certain musician yet...honestly everyone in Heaven/Hell seems to spawn in with a naturally Braodway-talent singing voice (especially contrasting with characters like Vaggie and Husk, you'd think they wouldn't be that talented lol) so maybe Jeremy's just eh in comparison. Which is hilarious.

Alastor's confirmed backstory is that in life, he was a radio show host who moonlit as an elusive serial killer who cannibalised the bodies of his victims. He was only "caught" post-mordem, and his death was because one night a random hunter mistook him for a deer and shot him in the head, while Alastor was out in the woods burying the remains of one of his victims.
(That's why he sometimes has an "x" in his forehead, Sinners have those when they recieved a mortal wound at or just before, death. For instance, Angel Dust died of a drug overdose, so no Xs). It's also why he's a deer in the afterlife, their demon forms are usually a reflection of their sins, death or "something they deeply dislike about themselves."

I cannot tell you how far this dumbass demon cartoon has dug its little claws into my brain over the last month. It started off innocently enough with me watching my friend Cholvoq’s redesigns of the characters on Instagram before slowly spiralling into watching clips of the show on YT to then actually watching it in its entirety with my bestie and my mom.
I have been actively involved in fan culture both on and offline for going on 8 years now, and y’all are BY FAR the most insane, chaotic, feral, foaming at the mouth, h*rny, fruity, delinquent filled fandom I’ve ever been in.

There has been a famous theory going around that Lilith is the one who holds Alastor on a leash since they both disappeared on the same timeframe (7 years). It would explain why he can't stand Lucifer and why he is so persistent in wanting to have favor from Charlie by contract. In the pilot, there was even a moment wherein Alastor was staring at the Morningstar Family portrait and seemed to smile wider when focusing on Lilith so this may be a plotline that has long been in the making.
Ya know I totally thought Lilith being the holder of Alastor's leash was canon for some reason and Idk when it happened or how it happened bc I've been binge watching reactions to Hazbin Hotel for days now 😂😂😂 So I was definitely thinking the same thing about Charlie being a way in to get to Lilith

I loved your reactions to this! Almost as much as I loved the actual show! Alastor is DEFINITELY my favourite in this, his whole concept is amazing (old and reliable medium vs mass minsinformation, his power of absorbing demons and using their voices in his radio, his basically eldritch deer god form that I NEED MORE OF), he's every bit as sassy and chaotic as needed, his voice acting is great and his relationship with Niffty is just off the charts. Of course I like everyone in the show (well, except for, y'know, Adam and Lute and the other extreminators), and I guess after Alastor, Charlie and Lucifer are my second favourites. "Hell's Greatest Dad" is probably my favourite song from the show, both cause Lucifer song exposing a lot of the initial issues in his relationship with Charlie, and cause Alastor absolutely kills it after invading it.
Overall I really CANNOT wait for season 2. Definitely hope to see more content on it from you!

What sucks most about Dazzle’s death is that it was needed for the plot. Lucifer couldn’t interfere with the exterminations until a Hellborne was killed, thus rendering the deal made with Heaven null and void.

I love how we focus so much on Angel in this season, it's a perfect set up for him to be redeemed, only for them to pull the rug out from under us and redeem Pentious. The two theories at this time are that Angel's not quite there yet, or that Angel can't be redeemed because Valentino owns his soul and you kinda need to that change locations lmao. I suppose there's also a third in that whatever entity decides someone is worthy of Heaven just doesn't think Angel was worthy yet, but that kinda ties into the first theory, just more about the redemption process itself as opposed to Angel's actual progress.
More than anything (pun fully intended), I'm excited to see more of the Vees, more of Lilith, hopefully more Carmilla, I'd love to see Charlie actually train her abilities, and I can't wait to see more of Charlie's arc as she learns how to truly redeem someone (though it is partially resolved in S1). It was subtle, but I really liked it. People like to get on Charlie about her methods and how they shouldn't work and she doesn't know what she's doing and like, that's the point lol? Charlie doesn't actually know what it means for someone to be redeemed in this world, and that's shown on multiple occasions. She's not stagnant, she's growing. You just gotta pay attention ^^
