Thank you for watching Boilermaker Rick, greetings from along the East Broad Top Railroad. The friends of E.B.T. they plan to get all the steam locomotives to running condition all in go time/eventually.
Thank you for watching David I know they aren't done yet, the friends of E.B.T. plan on eventually having all the steam motive power up and running, also brand new old style coach cars are now in use, and the friend of E.B.T. are expanding Southward reactiviaing more of the ROW.
Thank you vtsurogat vtsurogat greetings from along the East Broad Top Railroad in Rockhill Pennsylvania one of America's best examples of our industrial railroad history..
that's awesome that steam at East Broad Top is coming back to life! not a narrow gauge fan in general, but I would like to visit EBT someday. in the meantime, thanks for letting us armchair railfans enjoy it!
♥Thank you Benjamin, greetings from along the East Broad Top, as time goes on.. The friends of E.B.T. plan to have all the steam locomotives in working order, I do recommend that sometime in the future for you to get out here perhaps make it a few day trip as Altoona & Horseshoe Curve area is around 50 miles away from here, make it a mini railfan vacation.. As for myself now I really want to see something smaller now, like that 2 foot gauge railroad at the Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington Railway Museum in Maine. Perhaps to see the 2 foot RR in Portland as well..
@@LibertyRailfan I went to the Portland ME museum years ago - personally I found it a bit of a disappointment, the ride is way too short and they didn't have any steam running the day I visited (they used to only fire up the steam engines a few days out of the year, not sure if that's still the case). not to discourage you from going if you're interested, just my two cents. the WW&F looks way cooler, from videos I've seen
@@insearchofthemuses I mostly want to visit the Portland operation for the fun of it seeing the tiny little RR, I know it's not original to the area as that former line/row was standard gauge... The main focus or highlight for me would be the Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington Railway as that is original.. We have something similar here in New Jersey to the Portland train, the Pine Creek RR it is a 3 foot gauge RR but it was moved once but now is in a state park put there around the 1960's I think.. All the Pine creek does is have a loop of track around 3/4 of mile long they go around the loop twice.. They have some nice equipment though, I guess they are just about preserving the equipment even though the setup of the ROW is more of what you would find in an amuseumt park..
Thank you for watching Dave, greetings from the E.B.T. If you can get the chance definitely come back to here again.. Everyday with the friends of the E.B.T. everything is changing they are getting things done, and for the better.. This whole railroad is just 100% a step back in time...
Man Adam, the railfan grapevine must have kicked into overdrive before last weekend! There's LOTS of EBT videos poppin' up all over. Don't worry, I give YOU priority! Fantastic work on your part, brilliantly photographed! I enjoyed every minute! And especially that bonus shot of the "Liberty Liner" (fomerly the North Shore Electroliner) in operation. I wonder if the old on-board kitchen still works and makes Electro-Burgers? I don't think my life wil be complete if I never get to sample an Electro-Burger. 🤩 Thanks so much for being there and sharing the experience!
Thank you very much Wayne ♥for your comment. Yeah this was a sight I did not want to miss. As for that Liberty Liner I wasn't expecting to see it, but when I was done with EBT I was hearing a cruise ship coming through Rockhill, lol. So I knew with a horn that loud it had to be the Liberty Liner I just had to go see it.. hmm perhaps at the Illinois Railway Museum they may make those Electro-Burgers....
Thank you John well keep an eye out on their website for when they are going to be running, also keep an eye out for the Rockhill Trolley Museum as well make it a two-for-one to EBT.. Possibly this year make it a few-day trip as EBT is around 55 miles East of Altoona, so you can plan to spend one day here at East Broad Top than the rest of the time of your trip around the Altoona/Horshoe Curve area.
Nah double header steam will be better than steam and diesel especially on this heritage railroad. EBT crews/volunteers are working to get all 6 of the steam locomotives working again on the railroad.
Thank you for watching Konlin Kuykendall, the name of the railroad is in the title, lol. The East Broad Top Railroad is a heritage narrow gauge railroad that only recently was revived thanks to the many volunteers "Friends of the East Broad Top"...
@@TravelingRailfan501 no problem Konlin.. If you ever do get the chance to come out to the east coast be sure to stop by at the East Broad they are really friendly and this is one of kind operation with the most complete operations due to their shops which date back to the early industrial revolution. This whole railroad now has a Smithsonian Institution affiliation. Also East Broad Top is only around 50 miles east of Horsehsoe curve / Altoona area. It could be made into a decent railfan vacation..
Right now it's 3.5 miles of useable mainline from Rockhill, North to Colgate Grove. They have been and are doing a great job on the maintenance of the right of way. They are pushing further south as well at least 3 miles to the south as well they are past the high school from what i understand.
Thank you for watching John, greetings from along the E.B.T. When you get the chance you gotta make the pilgrimage out here especially with your birdie capabilities.. EBT there is nothing else like it East of the Mississippi for being narrow gauge but having such a complete, original, and historic RR. One of the most in tact preserved railroads in the whole nation.
@@LibertyRailfan That'll certainly have to make it on the to do list! Looks like some incredible images most across the country don't get to see and only a few hours away from North Jersey
@@northjerseyaerialrail9597 What's good about East Broad top too as I tell my friends here in Jersey it's actually closer than the Norfolk Southern Altoona District stuff. So if you can check the EBT website maybe you can make it a mini vacation see the NS Pittsburgh Horshoe Curve West Slope area but then spend some time on the EBT. EBT is only around 45 miles East of the Altoona area via Rt 22, the EBT's ROW "OOS" still technically touches the NS Pittsburgh Line in Mt Union so really isn't far from the NS action.
@@LibertyRailfan I might have to take a road trip. I'll have to figure out when they run those steam trains out on their line and go from there. Should be pretty incredible to see
Love the old steam locomotives
