Great footage! I always like to see actual day to day things people might no know about, like setting the simple device at the end of the turntable to keep it in gauge or the guy "walking the trolley pole" to the other end of the car. How I wish a fan with a camera had filmed a trip through the valleys and tunnels when the line was still in operation!
I was so glad to find this after all these years. A trip to the E.B.T. is definitely on my bucket list, but got more and more frusrated because the guy kept ignoring the train. Without the train, there was never any reason for the power to exist.
Nice video! I like the steam locomotives and the trolleys of the time period, learning about the history of the East Top Broad Railroad, and the beautiful scenery in the background! Really nice!
There is a small strip mining operation going on at Alvan but the EBT has decided not to buy from them which I don't understand and why don't they fix their coal dock?
This Is Great Watching The East Broad Top Railroad In The 1950s in Orbasonia Pennyslavina & Rockhill Furance Pennysvilania With 2-8-2 Mikado's #15 & #16 & #17 & #12 & #13 & #14 😊😊😊 🚂🚂🚂
So does anyone in the railfan community k ow what's up with the EBT? Last I heard a few years back waa that I was being sold for scrap, I hope that didn't come true
Several heavy hitters in the railroad industry, including former CEO of Norfolk Southern and, later, Amtrak, Wick Moorman, bought most of the EBT in February 2020.
Yeh they cut out most of the footage from the 50s except for 2 scenes and they also cut out the scene of #15getting filled with coal at the coal dock. Wonder why?
Welcome back EBT.
Me and my fiancee rode the EBT this month. So much fun such a beautiful road
Would be amazing to see more coaches back in service soon

Good thing the East Broad Top has returned.
Green Frog and Emery Gulash, were always a winning combination. I will soon review this show on American Train Video Reviews. Looks good!🍀

was I the only one amazed by the picture quality when number 12 was on the turn table?
I never rode on the East Broad Top before!
I really enjoyed this video John, I will definitely have to buy a copy of this on BluRay at some stage. Best wishes Rowan.
Awesome Rowan, Thanks very much and glad you enjoyed the video - Emery Gulash was one of the best!
I've seen some of this footage in Volume 2 of the Top Frog Series.
After years of abandonment, the E.B.T is back and steam will return soon.
Hopefully the EBT will decide to take advantage of the strip mining operation going on up at Alvan that one of the conductors told me about this year
Mikados are underrated locomotives, the EBT is an example of this.
I wonder why Railways to Yesterday’s mailing address was Allentown, PA which near me.
Everything is bigger here in America. Even our narrow gauge engines are massive.

Welcome Back East Broad Top
Where/how can I find a video or footage of number 16 in action? I’ve found a video before but I can’t find that video any more
Was this just a preview? Because I noticed that the scene of #15 getting filled with coal was cut out
What is the music called

As of today, she is back open for business. Now under the name "East broad foundation"
They just aired a large briefing, re opening the railroad

OldsVistaCruiser it makes me super happy that people want to preserve what built our nation.
It has now been sold, not scrapped, and is expected to reopen.
This is not from the 1950’s. 60’s and 70’s
Good call!! You beat me to it. Much of the video is from the old Winter Spectaculars, which ended in the early 1980s.
