I also would love it if FEBT would have one or more of Ron's tours professionally filmed (and miced up). It could be sold or used at the museum for those who can't make the trip up the hill.

Great tour. As one who has difficulty hearing, I especially appreciate the closed captions. Thanks!

Thanks so much, as rarely the actual mining is discussed, not just here but other videos and books. I have been trying on and off to learn about these coal mines for a long time. I'm a retired underground hardrock gold and base metal mines miner from Timmins Ontario Canada, who researches old mines and of course railways, and I really enjoyed your video is I learned some more of the Robertsdale coal mining history.

How much coal was there at Robertsdale in 1956? The book "East Broad Top" by Lee Rainey on page 156 says that at the start of the war, the RC lands contained 30 million tons of coal. So how much would there have been when the EBT closed? Jim Bacon found an estimate that put 50 million tons of coal at Robertsdale and Alvan in 19956 which disagrees with Lee Raineys book so I'm curious.

I'm also embarrassed to say I never knew that the Huntingdon and broad top RR was a standard guage railroad
