Wisconsin is a Democrat shithole. I'm surprised they didn't drop the charges and give him a settlement.
@FURTIVEGESTURES the fact you think the police has any say on that shows how smart you are
bail also doesnt mean dismissed charges. it just means that if you cant pay it, youll have to stay in jail until your court date and then the sentence will decide if youre free to go or if you go back. its a shitty system for things like this, but it doesnt mean hes going to get out of this situation scot free
@FURTIVEGESTURES Oh, but the Ju Ju Ju applies to every situation. /s
I’m so sorry for the people who actually have him in their family.
I guarantee he's the relative nobody wants around on Thanksgiving or Christmas for obvious reasons
We have had several drunks on both sides of out family's and after we were married we disowned all of them. Some of them we only seen at weddings and funerals over a 40 year period. If you have a drunk in your family, just stay away for as long as you can between seeing them. My brother was a drunk who cheated on his wife, I was only near him five times between 1972 and 2003, my wife and I were much better off for doing so.
He might have lost everyone and he was at low. Poof just went hard. Bet he doesn't even know he punched a kid. Probably just went after the shortest figure in the dark. 😂
What an idiot
@totaltrol I don't like or feel sorry for drunks, and I'm not about to make excuses for them. I just hope the courts hold him accountable.

Never is.
People like the driver are despicable. This jerk has obviously been endangering the lives of countless people as long as he has been a drunk. Like every DUI it is more like between reckless disregard for life to attempted murder, beyond just manslaughter because all know the staggering toll and victims of good people who turn into something else when they drink. With a case like this the judge has to be an idiot to know this is routine behavior, just the first time caught. For that sentence the freak on each charge, to be served consecutively. He should get a little calendar that shows him which idiot act he is sitting in jail for at the moment because he won't remember what he did when he sobers up either.

Badges do not grant extra rights, they impose extra responsibilities.
Every officer is required to make a solemn and binding oath where they first and foremost swear their allegiance to the Constitution of the United States of America, the supreme law of the land, and the law. The law, as declared by the supreme court in Brown v. Texas (1979), requires the police to articulate the law that has been violated and their reasonable suspicion that a person has or is violating that law before they can be detained. That has been the legal requirement (the law) for 44 years and is or should be law enforcement 101 for every recruit in the academies on how to deal with people on the streets. If you are not legally detained then you are under no legal obligation to stay there or continue interacting with the police
The officer had more than enough to detain the man but he refused to state that the man was detained even after being asked multiple times if he was being detained. If the officer was actually a professional he would have obeyed the law and told the man he was being detained and for what reason. But the officer chose to escalate the situation by refusing to obey the law, then assaulting the man (which is a crime).
If the police want to be respected then their attitude should be that they are not above or exempt from the law and that they have the extra burden of obeying the strict letter of the law at all times.
All of this could have been avoided by simply obeying the law. But the office refused to do so. Why? And why do you respect someone who violates the law he swore to uphold and enforce. Why does their violation of the law, their abuse of the authority that we-the-people lend them so they can protect us, not worry you. Why do you think that sort of behavior engender your respect for them? Is it because it is happening to someone else and not you and yours?
"It is the common fate of the indolent to see their rights become a prey to the active. The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt."

Badges do not grant extra rights, they impose extra responsibilities.
Are you stating that you believe that the police are justified in violating the law?
Would stating that the man was detained how he behaved? Maybe, maybe not. That is beside the point. The primary duty of the police is to ENFORCE THE LAW, not violate the law. The police are not above the law or exempt from the LAW. The police must obey the LAW just like everybody else is required.
We-the-people are only legally required to obey LAWFUL orders. LAWFUL orders are those that have a law authorizing them. The police are not the LAW, they are the LAW'S ENFORCERS.
And in Germany after the national socialist (nazi) party gained control of the government they started attacking and violating the rights of what could be called the less desirable people in the country. German Pastor Martin Niemöller was a staunch nazi party member and supporter at the beginning but when he later expressed dissatisfaction with the brutish behavior of the government, he became a victim and was imprisoned. And there was no one to speak out to defend him.
That is why an violation of the rights of anyone is an attack on the rights of everyone.
It is not like the officer did not have more than enough to justify arresting and charging the man for what he did. But he just could not help himself. He could not just do his job lawfully and be satisfied that he took a drunk driver and child abuser off the road and put him in jail. And that is the problem, because one day you might be out and about doing absolutely nothing illegal and suddenly have the police confronting and interrogating you and making demands and then be attacked when you try to leave. And all because the police think that they are the law and whatever they do is automatically lawful.
Badges do not grant extra rights, they impose extra responsibilities.

People with little means very little interest in education, no social graces and resent, ent to anyone that bothers to be educated.
I got a DUI when I was 21. In Maine. It sucked. Spent three nights in jail paid over $10,000 in fines and had to do so many classes and then I had to take my drivers test all over again. You can come back from it because now I am 37. I don’t even drink. I have a commercial drivers license, 4 young children and a nice house. This guy, though looks like he’s 50 so he decided never to straighten out his life. Sadly.
😂
For kids?
I was like "huh" then I was like "oh, four".
😂
Didn't notice that; i read four children.
But I'm as old as the drunk guy in the video 56 now...
He sounds at least twice the legal limit!!
Good for you! I live in NH and have no DWI myself but know people who do... I feel like they definitely are more severe in the northeast about it. My dad is almost 65 and just got his license back 10 years ago after years of DWI and driving without a license, obviously because of his bad decisions. But in other states you get a ticket for driving without a license..but here you get arrested for 1st offense driving without a license. Good for you for being able to come back from a mistake and taking ur life back!!
Yeah this dudes definitely older than 50 haha but either way sad story
@rick379 getting old happens super quickly.
I'm in my sixties, still angry at things from 30, 40, 50 yrs ago.
9/11/01 was like yesterday for me.
If I hadn't quit drinking I guess I would either be as dumb as that guy but more likely dead.
I always love how people scream "I didn't do anything wrong" as they're being handcuffed...usually for doing several wrong things
I know and they are almost always drunk .lol. I guess that’s why they call it “blind drunk”.
At least he knows very well his constitutional rights... (13:30)
1st: You are allowed to drink alcohol while driving. (If necessary.)
2nd: You are allowed to punch everybody, including cops and kids.
3rd: Nobody can arrest you, never.
4th: You can always confront your accuser.
Bonus points if it's the suspect parents
"They will strike you while crying out in pain"
Idk who coined that term but people like that are reeeeaal low

I will never understand the people who want to block people from passing them. If some hothead comes barreling up behind me, I'm gonna make it as easy as possible for the dude to pass me. I don't want him riding my ass for the rest of my drive. Just let them by, what's the point of fighting with them?
Its an ego thing.
Just like how my roommate never had an issue with me calling my vehicle a Truck til he got a pickup. Now he gets pissy when I call my Bronco a Truck
Yep. Ego battle. Both of them tbh. I'd have avoided the entire thing regardless of perceived fault.
This happens to me CONSTANTLY. I'll come up on someone doing 10km under. Fine, I'm patient and I don't want them driving faster than they're comfortable. I'll stay back and ride behind them until it's safe, hit the signal on a dotted line and go on past them. At least half the time they'll speed up... fucked if I know why, I've had people come out the other end doing 20km over the limit riding my ass. The problem is at that point I have to slow down because someone riding your ass means you need more reaction time out front to slow down gradually and avoid getting rear ended.
Happens all the time and it just boggles my mind, if someone tries to pass me the second they hit the opposite lane I let off the gas so they have an easier time clearing, I've watched professional drivers close the gap and make it so people have to FLY to get passed them and the guy in front of them. Last trip I went on we were in the oncoming lane and myself and the guy in front of me almost had to come to a complete stop because of two big trucks that wouldn't let a car in.
This guy was a class A Dick from the word go. I hope he never drives again.
It's a very immature mentality. Once I grew up a bit I learned to appreciate the folks who want to drive faster, they can get the tickets while I drive by
I really love the added squeak noises lmao they get me every time
the editing is magical in this video during the ride to the station. The fast cuts back & forth between the officer & the assailant was gold. More of this officer please
Agreed. That editing is on point and made for a funny video.
I think the cop is a natural at it too, I swear, it felt like I was watching a professional comedian dealing with a heckler

We were on the right track with Prohibition. Now we're going backwards legalizing everything. Can't wait to see what the country looks like when idiots can buy any narcotics they want over the counter.

Hear what the dad is saying. "Don't baby it." If you ever get assaulted by anyone, do not downplay how much it hurt, how it made you feel, or what you thought was going to happen. Officers need to meet certain elements of crimes in order to charge and arrest someone.
Yeah kinda wild how they told the dad to “relax” essentially, like for one if the son is under age, the dad should 100% be deeply involved in the investigation/interview. And 2 if it was my son I’d be pissed ahah 😂
@@TCG_CameronThey told him to calm down because he was getting aggressive. He was also talking over his son and not allowing his son to answer. That’s considered “leading” his son and it causes the son’s testimony to get thrown out. The police wanted to be able to press charges against William and they can’t do that if the irate dad is leading his son. All this being said, I have teenage sons and I would have killed the guy if he hit one of mine, so I’m not criticizing the dad, just explaining.
This was a great conversation, and I thank you all 3 for these ideas.

Outstanding Officer.
Poor Justice system.
Lawlessness increases.
Imagine if a man did this…
OH WAIT.
Very poor AND lawless justice system. $1500 for DUI, at least two felonies is a joke, the judge should be ashamed of himself or he was friends with the drunk driver. I've known several people whose bond were $2500 for DUI and crashing into other cars and I even thought that was low, but I guess it's just a bond and a bond isn't considered punishment as it's only an amount so the perps can get out of jail, and the promise to show up for his trial or case, but to me it's still way to low.

I think most fathers would have knocked him to kingdom come. I certainly would have, and I would not care about the assault charges. You can't let drunken bullies hurt your children. You are their protector, the dad was relying on the courts to give him some justice and they give him a spanking that didn't hurt as much as the child did. Disgusting.

Wisconsin has become a running joke for how light the bonds are and the sentencing.
They need to elect a judge who has a set and stop with these ridiculous low fines.
@billbray8797 they need to elect a legislature that doesn't pass such lenient laws. The judges can only do what the law allows
Get rid of liberals
Arrested for first degree murder. Released on a 500 dollar signature bond. Only In Wisconsin.
Cash bond isn't a punishment, it is a guarantee of payment. If you pay your cash bond it doesn't mean you get out scot-free. It just means that if you pay it, you are allowed to spend the time until your court case at your house instead of the local jail. Then, after your court case, if you are found innocent then you are given your money back and released. If you are found guilty, it is either given to family, held for you when you are released, or taken by the court (depending on your charge and where you live). So they will most likely spend a decent amount of time (based off those charges I would guess around 20 years) in prison. Also cash bond isn't determined by their crime(s), it is based on their fleeing chances. If someone is seen as a "high risk" of fleeing, their bond is set high. If they are at a "low risk" of fleeing, their cash bond is set lower.

FULL credit to the father for his self-control and being the bigger man. I'm not a violent person, but if somebody just ran me and my child off the road into a ditch and then punched my child in the face whilst trying to escape from that ditch, well, the inclination to ensure that pos never actually leaves that ditch would be very, very strong in that moment. But then a boy would lose his father and set a terrible standard. So again, full credit, that's an in control man right there.
