SEO on YouTube is Overrated, Do THIS instead

In today's video we're going to be chatting about why I believe SEO is overrated on RUclips, and what you should be focusing on instead if you want more reach on your videos.
I've had a lot of experience over the past 10 years of running my original RUclips channel, and I can definitely see the positives and negatives of how it has affected my reach over the years.

But remember there have been countless updates online regarding SEO, especially recently. Google loves Videos so effectively you're on the preferred platform for pushing long form. BUT SEO is crucial to create cross platform content that points back to your video. Of course even more weighting will be atributed to our videos if in a YMYL categorisation (Your Money/ Your Life).

Agreed, there have of course been updates over the years.
I do still maintain that SEO on RUclips should be done as a base level practice. However I don’t think it should determine the type of content you’re consistently making, and it shouldn’t always determine your titles either. I think this is a common mistake many creators make, and it can potentially end up hurting their channel. (Like it did for me.)
