A Lasting Legacy | F/A-18 Legacy Hornet

The F/A-18 Hornet was and still is the Navy's best multirole aircraft to date, even receiving a newer variant in 1999 after a 15 year lifespan, the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet which served side-by-side with the Legacy Hornet until it's retirement in 2019. The Super Hornet will continue to serve the Navy, but not the Marine Corp unlike its sibling because of a need for funds going to the F-35B program. The Legacy Hornet saw a huge number of sorties during the 1991 Operation Desert Storm to free Kuwait from Iraqi control, serving constantly alongside its predecessor, the F-14B Tomcat.
