Out of curiosity, what was your biggest sticking point on it? I’ve been running the Viggen as my go-to platform for a while now and understand how to get the most out of her, and I would be glad to help you past whatever hurdle you hit.

@@patricksawyer9779 While I don't own the plane (used it for a trial), for me it was the lack of straightforward-ness of operating the different A2G weapon systems that you would find in an American or Russian aircraft as the knobs seemed quite confusing with labeling and there were some other things about it I don't remember, but that was the main one

When I was deciding what I wanted to do for an edit, this random memory from a few years ago of my friend singing this song immediately made me think of FLIR/Drones/Targeting Pods. As for the ending, it was a clip I found and felt like a good mood lighten-er in comparison to what I originally had in its place haha

One could argue that the Fritz X used by Germany in WW2 was the real origin point for precision ordnance, but the Phantom definitely had her hand in making it possible

well at least we got the Tornado as a sort of european cousin of the F-111 and F-14. i saw one of them fly a few days ago at ILA2024. kind of crazy to think it's already 50 years old and the 111 is another 10 years older. the amount of time between the aardvark and the invention of flight is about the same as the time between the aardvark and today now.

While it definitely would've been a good system for the military as a whole, the F-22 alone caused a huge financial issue, so purchasing fleets of two would be detrimental haha

Definitely a scary beast in the right circumstances. Hopefull the DCS Kiowa can create a similar experience!

Great video dude! my step-dad was a combat medic in the Army and he fought in the Gulf War.

Ngl, I'm kinda disappointed in myself for missing the medics. I'll have to make that a priority for the future. Regardless, I thank him for his service and providing for a free Kuwait o7

@@phantom_phlyer4 they definitely made us a more powerful military, it just seems like we didn’t always coordinate it the best, considering the HMAS Melbourne rammed 2 other ships on seperate occasions.. it definitely would’ve been cool if we had Phantoms for more than 3 years though

@@phantom_phlyer4 well if you look up x series of US planes you will find alot of experimental planes but here are some few US prototypes that you can use yf-23, x-32 and Northrop YB-49

At times it definitely felt like it. Longest part was definitely compiling footage cause I've had this one planned for months as I've scoured for enough footage. Definitely worth it tho since the Soviets were horrible at documenting things, so this is like gold to me lol :)
