Agreed ! I recently (finally !) watched the Addams Family movies from the 90's and, while Wednesday was a solid Mood and the whole cast was amazing, it was Morticia that really stood out for me. I just love how she's always so ridiculously graceful and perfectly composed, like getting her to raise an eyebrow would be the greatest honor. Her presence commands respect, but she's also surprisingly loving.
This whole family is superior. They are so genuinely close knit in their own way and they aren’t malicious or even slightly ill natured toward others EVER, and the absolute god tier marriage Gomez and Morticia have is what i live for
Angelica Houston is freaking outstanding in this role - not only does she carry herself with this almost unearthly sort of grace as Morticia, she beautifully embodies her hilariously morbid sense of sweetness and innately loving nature. I don't think Angelica has an equal when it comes to this role. Just phenomenal.
No one will ever capture this role the way Angelica Houston did. She is the absolute epitome of style, elegance, grace, beauty and dark mystery in this role.
2:30 right up corner - there is a boy with Adams spirit - he smiles the entire time Morticia is telling her tale But he is not there, when the children are crying. xD
Love this so much. Especially how even though they became horrified with their child being different they still wanted to support him the best they could.
Angelica Huston checks all the boxes here. the poise, the tone, the darkness and the passion. she's the type of person that makes you feel like sleeping in the ocean at night is ok, even though it's riddled with danger
Honestly you could probably knock on the door and be like “hey you house look scary as hell, I love it, can I crash here?” And they would just never let you leave
Can we take a moment and appreciate Morticia's unique way of protecting her family. At 0:50 she helps Fester unpack. But here is the thing. She knew something was off. If the man wasn't the real Uncle Fester then she with that line about the cyanide would keep him on edge. If he was the real Uncle Fester then she has been nothing but a good welcoming host. She never meant to help him unpack because she just took out 3 things before saying good night. Love a woman that can psychologically find ways to protect her own.
One of the differences between Wednesday Netflix show and Addams family movie is that there is more of a showing of how weird they are in the movies whilst on Netflix Wednesday, Wednesday is just saying how weird her family is and it got boring after a while.

I can see why Wednesday is popular, but I wish for more Morticia cameos and characters like her.
They are so genuinely close knit in their own way and they aren’t malicious or even slightly ill natured toward others EVER, and the absolute god tier marriage Gomez and Morticia have is what i live for
YES
@@redeemededits.5336 WEEWOO HEALTHY FAMILY DYNAMICS
Does Wednesday trying to electrocute pugsley count toward malicious? LOL
Anjelica is so beautiful...😩 the mommy of all goth girls✨🖤
i love her
she's literally stunning 🤩 she's
Wish more goth girls were as elegant and refined as Morticia
Lady Dimitrescu is the Vampire Aunt of all goths. X3 Strong and slaying classy women!
I've not seen a single person mention her voice, but that's one of the best things about her! That soft, smooth delivery was everything.
She is the absolute epitome of style, elegance, grace, beauty and dark mystery in this role.
she truly was made to play morticia
"But Debbie.... Pastels?"
Iconic. I will never get over how incredible Anjelica Houston is as Morticia. Born to play her.
literally 😩
Debbie: Don’t I deserve love? And jewelry?
Morticia: (about to be killed by Debbie) (Giving Debbie a very empathetic, loving, agreeing nod)
That part always makes me laugh
The Addams make it seem as if death is simply another door to walk through to reach the family dinner table.
The casting for Morticia and Gomez in these movies couldn't have BEEN more perfect. My bf and I are gonna be them this halloween
yesssss 😩🫶🏼
omg that's so cool.
You kids have fun!
god she is the BEST morticia and no one can say anything otherwise
And Gomes is the best here!I love them so much, they’re iconic
Love how the Adams were sympathizing with Debby even though she was about to kill them 😂😂😂
Game recognises game.
I love when she’s talking to the teacher, “college first’ 😅
She is literally a queen. MY queen. I would worship her.
As a German I have to note: It was Gretel who pushed the witch in the oven not Hänsel. 😂
One of my favourite bedtime stories btw haha
Not in "Hänsel and Hänsel" by Hans Christian Lockerhueven.
@@musicaltheatergeek79 what the heck?
@@musicaltheatergeek79 Oh yes the famous poet who also wrote the story of Tunda The Mediocre Tiger
@@musicaltheatergeek79 *Hans Christian Andersen you mean
She would love the Struwelpeter LOL
Such a great character, always moved like she was floating. Such elegance~.
1:57 “Don’t worry we told Wednesday ✨college first✨”
😊😌 *proudest look*
Literally every one of my favorite lines from Morticia in this clip (most of the best lines from the movie, period).
she carries both movies
I love how they still love their baby even though he was transforming into a Republican
Oh no!! Not a Republican! Anything but that! 🤣🤣🤣
W h a t💀
🤣🤣🤣
😂
Hahahaha best comment in this whole thread
Shes and gomes are so beautiful
4:24 The shade! The SHADE of it all!
she is such a queen 😭
0:17 lol when Gomez is about to faint. The shock this wicked loving parents had
debby: "dont i deserve love...and jewelry?"
Morticia: *nods head and cries in agreement*
lmao
Watching this now really opened my eyes on the things that bothered me while watching Wednesday.
REAL
2:30 right up corner - there is a boy with Adams spirit - he smiles the entire time Morticia is telling her tale
But he is not there, when the children are crying.
xD
I don't think they could ever find another person to play Morticia as well as Angelica Houston. She is just amazing.
they could never topped Anjelica as Morticia and I must say, the rest of the Addams Family + values cast especially Wednesday.
Haha I love this actress. She has such an iconic facial expression in all the roles she plays but as Morticia Addams, she shines!
Love this so much.
Especially how even though they became horrified with their child being different they still wanted to support him the best they could.
they were terrified of them doing normal children things 😂😂
Angelica Huston checks all the boxes here. the poise, the tone, the darkness and the passion. she's the type of person that makes you feel like sleeping in the ocean at night is ok, even though it's riddled with danger
My plan to get into the adams family is to show up one day and call myself Cousin interloper, and just sit down for dinner. They’d let me.
Honestly you could probably knock on the door and be like “hey you house look scary as hell, I love it, can I crash here?” And they would just never let you leave
They would definitely let you. I may also suggest wearing a suit of armor for protection. You never know 😊
Can we take a moment and appreciate Morticia's unique way of protecting her family.
Can we just take a second and admire her voice? Honestly, it’s so silky and beautiful 🥰
“Cyanide! Fester, as if we’d run out!” 😂
One of the differences between Wednesday Netflix show and Addams family movie is that there is more of a showing of how weird they are in the movies whilst on Netflix Wednesday, Wednesday is just saying how weird her family is and it got boring after a while.
I honestly thought they just seemed pretentious and not actually weird.
I’ve just noticed how much emphasis they focused on Morticia’s eyes instead of her other movements. She’s a very simple and plain character but her eyes give so much more to it at the same time
Morticia is such a well spoken, elegant and caring mother.
morticia is my spirit animal
fr
I recently took one of those "what TV mom are you" quizzes and got Morticia Addams. Still the single greatest achievement of my life this far
She's so calming to listen to😌
literally
I love her so much shes so funny
Shes got so many good quotes its hard to pick a favorite
“It’s for widows and orphans…. We need more of them” 🤣
It took me a moment to realise that she almost always has ominous horror movie lighting on her eyes.
yes 😭
"But Debbie, the pastels" always gets me 😂🤣
Update:
Wow!!!!! 1.3k likes?!?! Thank you 🙏🏻 😁
Update 2:
2.1k likes? Speechless. Thank all of you and have a blessed day 🙏🏻
She's right tho.
she really said she could look past everything else but the pastels is where she draws the line LMAO
Me too! 😂
@@redeemededits.5336 😂😂
It's black or it goes back!😂
Morticia reminds me of my own mom. She loved tf out of the Addams Family. It's a shame that she's not with me today, but she'll always be there 🙏🏿
My favorite thing about the Addams family is that they actually have very healthy family values and healthy familial relationships. Morticia and Gomez's marriage is totally relationship goals! I want my husband and I to still look at each other like that after having kids.
I am so sorry Mr. Julia didn't live to do more as Gomez. Their on screen chemistry was spot on. He was an excellent actor.
Morticia is like a black swan queen
Both on how she looks how she acts and how graceful she is
She was FLAWLESS in this role. Every line delivered perfectly, even her gestures and presence was amazing. These movies are still favorites of mine largely in part to how perfectly every character was cast and performed.
“You have destroyed his spirit, you have taken him from us... all that I could forgive- but Debbie.... Pastels?”
Love that. 👌🏼👏🏼💪🏼
Years later, an Ivy League college is magically enslaved to follow the whim of an adult Wednesday Addams before graduation. Morticia is so proud.
"I deserve love and jewelry"
Morticia really sat there about to ride the lightning and went "preach, sis"
THIS 👏🏻 IS 👏🏻 HOW 👏🏻 YOU 👏🏻 WRITE 👏🏻 FEMALE 👏🏻 CHARACTERS 👏🏻 HOLLYWOOD
I love how they always put a flash in her eyes. Giving her that mysterious thriller vibe and also showing that she hides a lot of passion behind calm demeanor
One of the best things about the Addams is that their love is unconditional.
I’ve never see her like this in sooo long! Bro she’s so gorgeous this actor literally makes me red faced she’s so pretty-
she's literally so gorgeous i can't believe she's real
Love Morticia!!! So dark. So elegant.
I know this is about Morticia but the scene 4:57 cracks me up. When Debbie is talking all the "bad" things that happened to her and what her husband's wanted, Granny says "but what about Debbie?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I want to be as wholesome as this family is but it's been kinda hard
Same same
I would honestly love to have her as a mother
Honestly Ms Angelica Houston did a remarkably incredible job playing Morticia.
Nobody can match her acting in this role!
I've always adored the way Her hands were folded very poised and neat in front of her 🖤🖤🖤
yesss 🥰🥰
