anastasia saying "no" at the altar is still one of the best parts of this movie, in any typical fairytale movie, anastasia would probably say yes or cinderella would run in yelling no, but because she's an actual human instead of a cardboard cutout of a stereotype, she says no
Her character development alone makes this a great movie. She starts off as the spoiled brat from the prequels but becomes a genuinely good person later on. I fucking love her
That’s the reason why up till this day Anastasia is one of the characters in the movie I greatly respect 😊😊 you can never be like someone no matter how you try to look like them. The original is still the best and she knows 😅
That's why I think this movie did her redemption better than Cinderella 2. She had actually developed and learned to value love and care about the Prince because he was so nice to her, so she gave up having everything she ever wanted to be herself and let Cinderella and her Prince be together. That showed real growth, more than just falling in love did, and I think now she's more ready for her baker boy. Also, Cinderella had no reason to forgive her in 2 but obviously she's just that forgiving. It makes plenty of sense that she'd forgive Anastasia if she withessed her say "I... Don't."
THIS! The fact she fell in love with a baker and realized that she wanted that happiness, not the fake 'happiness' she thought she'd have marrying the prince. I loved her character arc. I'm sad we never got an epilogue.
I love that even Disney acknowledged the problems that Charming had in the previous movies. he had no personality so they made him so sweet and patient and hilarious, they address the whole "finding Cinderella via foot size thing" because countless women have the same foot size as her, and they gave us the blessed scene of Charming jumping out of a window to rescue Cinderella. he is an absolute legend and I absolutely adore Cinderella 3 for fixing the issues with the first movie as well as being just a superior Cinderella movie can I also just gush about the redemption arc that they gave Anastasia? I absolutely love Anastasia in the second movie as well as this one. she shines as the stepsister that is truly beautiful inside and out. she's goofy, clumsy, and actually has a conscience. she feels guilt for what she's doing to Cinderella, she feels guilt for tricking Charming and the King. she revolts against her mother and sister because she knew what she was doing was wrong and didn't want to participate anymore. her redemption feels earned, I loved the scene where the King had a personal bonding moment with Anastasia, where he gave her an item that had immense sentimental value to him (I forget what it was), and it really moved Anastasia. she even attempted to give it back at the end because she felt she didn't deserve to have something so important to the King, _and he tells her that everyone is deserving of love and he lets her keep it._ I'm crying. I love this movie
okay yes charming is iconic and yeeting himself out of the window was a massive sass mood but can we talk about anastacia's redemption arc bc man i love that shit
@@taterpie9951 Real!! Anastasia got redeemed in both movies but it's way better here. Simply falling in love doesn't make someone magically a good person. Understanding it's value really shaped Anastasia in 3, and it made her actually worthy of Cinderella's forgiveness. Cindy had no reason to forgive her abuser in the second movie; but her saying "I don't" when she was about to marry Charming? That surprised Cinderella and proved that she had a change of character. That act of selflessness makes it more believable.
I love how he goes “okay” and basically flings himself out of the window since, you know, he was forbidden to step down another step of the stairs 😂😂😂😂😂😂 can you imagine him as a kid? Now I understand the dad’s white hair 😂😂😂
Well, guys, just imagine it. as a kid, i did NOT expect Cinderella 3 to be that good. especially after the second one being so bad. Really love how they gave charming a personality.
There was only one story that I really liked in Cinderella 2. It was when Anastasia found the baker. I just gush every time she finds him in the bakery and the part when they dance in the end.
I read somewhere that the whole ‘hand’ thing within the movie might also be a literal thing. Because Cinderella has been working so hard on a daily basis for a majority of her life, her hands are probably a lot rougher and calloused than someone such as Anastasia, or any other high class woman. Most of them probably have much softer hands because they have other ppl to do work for them, and thus why the prince doesn’t realize something is really off until he touches someone’s hand
It’s like they looked at the first movie and thought “Hmm… what kind of a prince would travel all around the kingdom fitting a shoe onto every girl’s foot until he found the right one?” “GOT IT, HE’S A HIMBO.”
I believe Disney wasn't expecting this movie to get this amount of love so they just threw it crazy jokes and Prince Bananas all over. Now they have to deal with us rewatching it every single year
A really cool detail about the second movie was Anastasia meeting the KING, the prince’s father, and him giving her an heirloom from his wife that he let her keep. And that Anastasia reminded him of his wife, who was also a curly redhead and clumsy and kooky. He made it clear that he hoped she, Anastasia, would find a man who loved her for her, and that it would happen some day.
He just got to actually speak and participate this movie besides the..... ....I genuinely don't remember him having any actual lines from the first movie besides maybe 1 or 2 XD
The fact that the prince didn't lose his crap over literally every single thing that Anastasia did throughout the movie shows the amount of gravitas this dude has 😭❤️
Can we appreciate the character development in Anastasia? In the beginning she was a bit selfish and ungrateful, thought that she would get her happily ever after by marrying the Prince but at the end she realized she didn't want to marry him because she didn't love him and didn't want to cause anymore harm to Cinderella because she knew they loved and belonged together. Anastasia's character is underrated:) Heck, she even tried to give the King the seashell back(that once belonged to his wife) because she knew she was undeserving of keeping such a meaningful trinket!
@Madam Rabbit exactly! I've always had a soft spot or liking for her for some reason-maybe because like you said she was gentler than her cruel sister-and I felt kinda bad for her when she was forced to marry the prince to please her mother:( I'm glad she got her happily ever after with the baker though:)
Finally someone said this! I noticed that too. I love Anastasia's character development and feel like her and Cinderella could be a good sister to each other 😍
Why did they make him such a good boy? Bros a golden retriever in heart and soul. He’s got such an innocent sassy vibe to him, my god, I love him in this one.
Why did they wait till the last movie to give him a personality💀, also am I the only one who used to think I dreamt this movie up? esp the scary pumpkin carriage scene. I was so upset when my CD of it stopped working
I mean, during the early Disney stories barely any characters had real character besides their stereotypes. Oh, but I think Pinocchio had nice character building
@@samanthanicoleibarra9955 no hes not🤭. the original cinderella movie was made in the 50s and mike douglas voice acted prince charming and in cinderella 3 the voice actor for prince charming was christopher daniel barns. the original actor for prince charming is dead.
@@sky-ol5rz Actually, Mike Douglas only did the singing for Prince Charming in the original Cinderella. He had a really thick Chicago accent in his speaking voice that wouldn't fit a prince at all, so William Phipps did the speaking part for Prince Charming in the first movie. By the way, isn't it nuts that C.D. Barnes happens to have EXACTLY the same vocal tone as Phipps did?
I love prince charming! Even in the 1st movie you could see a hint of personality, he was yawning at is own ball! On purpose to tic of his dad. But I'm so happy they went back and gave him a great personality!😂❤
I am honestly amazed that they took a character who barely said a word in the original movie and turned him into quite frankly, one of the funniest and charming “no pun intended” characters in any Disney movie. And the fact that they did this in a sequel movie is even more remarkable.
Honestly, not counting Flynn Rider, I think Charming is one of the only disney princes with a well defined personality. They let him be more than just a background figure meant to save the princess. Love him!
If you watch the movie his wife literally look like her tho. He has a painting of her. She's a red head and was painted doing something clumsy. And if I remember correctly, at the end of the movie Anastasia feels bad for deceiving the king and apologize to him (she knows the king adore her bc she reminds him of his wife) and the king forgive her

as a kid, i did NOT expect Cinderella 3 to be that good. especially after the second one being so bad. Really love how they gave charming a personality.
Cinderella 3 traumatized me as a kid
@@rowan2361why?
YOU RIGHT YOU RIGHT OMG
But she was wearing gloves in the original…
@@redred212 Shhh. Let us enjoy this little headcannon. Thank you for putting in some logic, but it would be so much more heartwarming if it were real.
Nah. I believe it's their hand positions. Watch the scene when real Cinderella touches his hand.
Hey now my hands are still soft, kind of.

how did they make such a funny character out of a cardboard cutout with a three second scene from the first movie its amazing
except he's not SMH, you can see other comments showing that he was a sass master the background of cinderellas story
It’s like they looked at the first movie and thought “Hmm… what kind of a prince would travel all around the kingdom fitting a shoe onto every girl’s foot until he found the right one?”
“GOT IT, HE’S A HIMBO.”
he did not have a three second scene
I mean, his reactions throughout the ball scenes are actually kinda funny.
Basically in that order:
🙂🥱🙄😒😬😖😍
Thats exacly how they did it. He was a white canvas they had nothing to work with so they started from the bottom up.

AND SHE DIDDDD

Can we appreciate the character development in Anastasia? In the beginning she was a bit selfish and ungrateful, thought that she would get her happily ever after by marrying the Prince but at the end she realized she didn't want to marry him because she didn't love him and didn't want to cause anymore harm to Cinderella because she knew they loved and belonged together. Anastasia's character is underrated:) Heck, she even tried to give the King the seashell back(that once belonged to his wife) because she knew she was undeserving of keeping such a meaningful trinket!
@Madam Rabbit exactly! I've always had a soft spot or liking for her for some reason-maybe because like you said she was gentler than her cruel sister-and I felt kinda bad for her when she was forced to marry the prince to please her mother:(
I'm glad she got her happily ever after with the baker though:)
