I just wanna say how much I love Tangled. This story wasn't "Poor, helpless female is in need of help from a *man* " And that makes me really happy.

Who cares? She's a well written character. You could have a damsel in distress who's a well written character too. The whole movie is well written.

Eugene: best male lead in a disney princess movie. i mean he has a great sense of humour. he genuinely loves Rapunzel. he didn't try to marry her the day after he met her. he has some of the best 1 liners. he literally died willingly for the woman he loves just to save her. he gives the best advice like "then you get to find a new dream". he's honest to Rapunzel. He doesn't try to make a move on her before she gets what she dreams. In the series his love for Rapunzel never simmered down or stopped even though she rejected him multiple times. He is constantly on her side and trusts her and when she's doing something stupid he doesn't say that she's stupid, he says things like "i know that you think what you're doing is right but think about what can go wrong". if she changes her mind then he comforts her and if she doesn't he still sticks by her. Damn i can go on and on.
Not to mention Rapunzel’s genuine good heart influenced him before he even fell for her, he started becoming a good person not to be with her or for the power of love but because he was influenced by how pure of a person Rapunzel was which is honestly something Eugene needed in his life after all the stuff he’s been through and done

I remember when this movie came out. I watched it with wide eyes because it was a movie with a guy who wasn't a prince. Not only that, he had amazing humour.

Tangled is still one of the best disney ever made for me. The characters being so well written, rapunzel and Eugene slowly falling in love AFTER getting to know each other rather than some instant connection, Rapunzel being naive about the world but never being helpless or in need of saving, and of course maximillian... just such a well written, funny and sweet film

When I first saw the film as a pre-teen, I didn't get how a frying pan could be THAT bad, since we only had stainless steel ones at home. My mom dug out my grandmother's cast iron frying pan so I would get why Eugene should've been dead after all those 3 hits. Cast Iron frying pans might as well be house bricks oml.....
I know I sound clueless to people who knew this already but it has always stuck with me. Like, that's straight up Home Alone-level of under-selling the real world injuries incurred from that kind of repeated injury from that weapon. Eugene has a skull made of carbon diamond!
