I do not for the life of me understand how Emma Thompson wasn't even nominated for an Oscar for this. She is absolutely brill in every single scene. She chews so much scenery you can't even believe the sets are still standing and yet never *quite* crosses the line. Unpopular opinion: as good as Ariana DeBose was in "West Side Story" that year, I feel she only got all the awards because, historically, the actress playing Anita always gets all the awards. For me, she didn't do anything transcendent or extraordinary- she was just very, very, VERY good. But that could describe a lot of performances. Emma does this role and I can't imagine how any other actor could come up with what she did AND get away with it. THAT is a whole, other level.
I love the movie but it would have been pretty funny if when Cruella asked "do you have a light?" the guy didn't have it, and she then had to keep awkwardly asking people for it before she could make her grand entrance.
Ok I know for the plot the Baroness had to wear the red necklace and she IS the Baroness so she apparently can do what she wants but she just reprimanded Anita for a little dark blue splot when she’s wearing red right in the middle of her gown. Albeit somewhat hidden but still.
Hoping the reporter grabbed her item and folded so that the ink was hidden. Evidently she couldn't point out the Baroness' necklace bc the plot demanded spotlighting the color rule (plus her job), butbat least keeping her property.
Technically it could be But I believe it would be something like flash paper, so not that good for anything that resembles an outfit I don't currently know of any cloth that acts like that though If you tried it with real cloth you would probably burn yourself and the outfit underneath
