You are one busy mama! I think it's wonderful how you teach and help your children grow. ❤
Your children are very lucky to have you as a mother and teacher;
I am learning so much from you! Although I’m in a different phase of life-my kids are all grown and I didn’t homeschool them. But I’m the kind of person who needs routine and consistency. A situation like the one you’re currently in would completely throw me for a loop. But you manage to see it as a blessing and an opportunity. You are amazing, and I want to be more like you!
I love how you go about your homeschooling with your children. Love that your children like to read. Your an amazing person. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family.🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️
Learning from experiences can be so much more rewarding than through text books. I really wish I could have home schooled my kids. You’re doing great mama with all the directions you’re going. Prayers for the entire family.
You are doing an amazing job with your children, being their mom, their teacher, and a great role model to them. The field trips that you have taken them on are definitely very educational and interesting. Continued prayers for Azariah and for all of your lovely family. 🙏✝🤗🫂❤🧡💝💛💚💙💜
You are so amazing. I just can’t imagine going through as much as you have and are able to make sure everyone is safe and happy and healthy and still be staying at the hospital and not getting much sleep. God bless you and your family . I am a avid reader. Love, hugs and prayers to your whole family.
MommaBear, your children are blessed in so many ways. They have real life skills that most will never receive. Not to mention how kind, loving and helpful they are. You rock! I couldn’t have done all you are doing. Much love to you all. I know you have inspired others moms here. This old lady absolutely loves you for who and the way you choose to do life. Many thanks for sharing.
You're doing great keeping them out of the world! I "unschooled" my two sons in the 80's and 90's. They both turned out to be good Christian men who have their own stained glass business and work at home. The most important important thing is spiritual 🤗
Boston has so much history, music, architecture, mass transit systems, etc. to explore
I love the old buildings!!
I was a teacher who then homeschooled my kids. Agree with you on all of this. Critical thinking is not taught in public schools and they also rely on digital material and learning. Homeschooling was a huge blessing for us, even through the hard times. Good job!! Love your heart in facing all your challenges right now. And Thriftbooks is such a great resource!
When i was unschooling years ago, we did themes. The kids chose a topic, and everything revoled around it for a week or so. Food, colors, shapes, environment, community, books, people, histoy, present time and the connection to history, habitat if the is one. Crafts, exploration. The sky is the limit. When kids love learning because it's fun. ❤❤❤ Love what you share about homeschooling unschooling.
❤ Sweetheart you are the most loving, amazing, and dedicated Mama to each of your children!!
Thank you so much!! But please know I’m definitely not flawless.
@ none of us are flawless! We are all doing the very best that we can!!! 🙏🏼❤️
Neisha , Momma bear Thanks for sharing another video ❤..Our daughter has always been homeschooled and loves it . Our school systems are kinda messed up around in the beliefs department. If our daughter wants to read the Bible and Pray she can and there is no one here to tell her she can't. My Great nephew actually got into trouble at school one day cause he pulled his bible out at break time one day to read it and then he was praying before he started to eat his lunch and the staff told him that was not aloud and sent him to the office . (He's now being homeschooled as well aling with his siblings by my Niece and Nephew.) It's getting ridiculous when you can't even pray if you want . Our kids get to do so much more hands on stuff by being homeschooled then they would get in public school and the one on one time is amazing, you can focus on what they actually need to improve on , they are not being rushed and can learn at there own speed. And the field trips are a plus also, we can take them as offen as we want for a great learning experience, the museum is a wonderful place. One of our next field trips will be to the Ark hopefully soon..there is lots of amazing learning that goes on there .And Your doing a Amazing job momma bear 🐻 . Your one amazing go-getter of a mom 😊..Your kids are so blessed and very smart . And we also love reading books as well . Thrifting is a big thing around here, We find so many books , And we love the library as well . Thanks for sharing and there is lots of great educational videos on youtube as well if someone wants to explore them ❤. PRAYERS FOR YOU ALL 🙏

P.S I've said it before but ill say it again, I love how you say "idea'😊❤
I can't wait until one day. We can all see a picture of a beautiful baby boy when he's not hooked up to all the tubes just for his dignity and your family's dignity. I know he's absolutely beautiful. Kind of got a little bit of a glimpse of him but that was maybe a couple days after he was born with all the kiddos. Were all there absolutely beautiful baby❤
Aww thank you.😊
I also mentioned the Science Museum but that post appears to have been removed. Maybe because I posted the link?
There is so much at that museum - plus they have videos to watch.
Your kids are lucky to learn the way they do. I was a teacher and now I homeschool. I do buy textbooks from thrifty books. I use them as a reference for what they need to learn, sort of an outline. Then I find videos, movies, crafts, and hands-on activities that they can use to learn the same material. I love field trips, libraries and museums.
I LOVE THRIFT BOOKS!!
Another comment: Do any of your children like acting out what they're learning? Some of them could write a short historical play; others could dress up and act it out. If they get into it, they could draw/paint a backdrop on paper or cardboard (opened boxes).
One way you could get in some science is to bring the children to the Museum of Medical History and Innovation.
“The museum has three levels of displays, artifacts and photographs.
Visit our main gallery, Putnam Gallery and the beautiful rooftop garden.”
Note: I don’t quite understand the hours open during what months so you may want to verify it before you go.
“The museum is open Tuesdays through Fridays 10 am to 2 pm year-round and Saturdays 11 am to 4 pm April through October. It's free and open to the public.”

You are so right that learning can take place anywhere in so many different forms. I was thinking of you as I took my grandaughters to a heritage Museum today that is like a small village. They must have spent an hour facinated by a black smith who took them through every step of turning a straight rod into a heart and then gave it to them. They will remember it for so long as they could ask questions and he was so patient explaining it to them. You do an amazing job and I am sure your children are learning very well, things they will remember for years.
How cool all the places the kiddos have been to. Hands on is the best learning in my eyes!
I totally agree!
Praying for all of you! You are having amazing adventures!❤😊
Love your philosophy on homeschooling ❤. I also homeschool and enjoy it so much
I love your great attitude ❤️
I was blessed to have had a mother who loved reading, and read to us all the time. To this day I love reading! Your doing a great job with your children. I loved going to Gettysburg when I was young. It's like you're back in that time era. Praying you're all doing well. We pray baby boy continues to heal and thrive. God bless you mama.❤❤
Thank you! You too! So glad to hear how being read to helped you become an avid reader
My focus in our homeschool is to learn how to find information. Learn how to figure things out. We currently are doing long division in math. I showed her the process of how to do it on paper and she practiced a few but now I’m teaching her how to use the calculator to find these answers. No adult is taking out paper and pencil to do long division if the need arises but she will need to know how to analyze the information and use a calculator to find the answer.
The Science Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts are both wonderful.
Momma, always feels funny to say that since I am older than you, my husband and I traveled up the East Coast once for two weeks after dropping daughter off to college years ago and I was so excited to see our History and realize compared to Europe how young our nation is , and just so much to learn. God Bless Cindi
I love reading I was reading before I started kindergarten . I think you home schooling your children is absolutely wonderful. . My mother wouldn't do that she wanted me out of the house . So I was in public school . I think I would've done better if I'd been home schooled . My mother would work with my sister she ignored me . She didn't wanted 1 child . When I got pregnant with my
4th child she told me that she would pay for me to get an abortion . I told her I wasn't getting an abortion because I don't murder baby's .
Prayers 🙏 and Love 🤟 From Ginger
I’m sorry that was your story. God wanted you here. There was definitely no mistake there is a plan and purpose for your life.
🙏🙏🙏 for baby Azariah and family
Supposedly we learn a lot of physical science (ie physics) and the theorems of trigonometry through natural play during our pre-K years. I say "supposedly". You might see if your older kids can teach your younger kids, or hands on explore with your younger kids, Actual little lesson plans.
For example, you can learn shapes gut also go through the rules/ definitions of those shapes. Ie triangle has three sides, 3 points, amd three angles while fe.ling amd touching a triangular shape. You can go on to explore all sorts of trig type things from there.
For example, when at/oin a seee saw you can go on to identify it as a fulcrum, the point, what different weights do, what leverage is all about, a d in and in. Of course, flipping a pea across the room off a spoon is much the same but ...
For the older kids, teaching something learned is considered a different level of learning. BUT organizing a lesson plan is a whole different skill set of multiple skills which is actually useful when wearing different hats through life.
I like the way you teach your children its awesome 😊 God Bless You ❤😊 Praying for Azariah and your beautiful family 💖😊
Thank you so much!
Prayers for baby azarahaih
Bostonnis known for some great music (more classical type) both vocal and instrumental. This is also the season of Cnristmas in which a lot of churches do great music. Where there is great music, schools with great music, and troops there are also practices, auditions, and recitals which sometimes you can get into for free. Typically the "free" is a rather dress- down affair in the form of a practice, an audtion, or a senior performance for proffs.
Thank you for sharing this! As someone who's kids love early US history but who live nowhere near the East Coast we are loving watching your adventures in Boston. After one of your videos we ended up looking into the Great Molasses flood as I'd never even heard of it. We'd love to hear more about the places you are visiting as we likely will never get to visit them in person.
A good middle read for the molasses flood is www.amazon.com/Survived-Great-Molasses-Flood-1919/dp/1338317415/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=1BQM83QQ8YXIB&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.GTaP1xuuYmeTMK0yjGPiMx-_BavFs9Fk1sFhnNThNwxw3kGaTLc9VfkclgSAkkFEC0oygTg08xCG6uUMON0QnrwYkFvHEkOsSd3cdRKE8K5_6ovlK9vKxC83CEkA_mFAZy8Zf0zwQ5skvmuxSn0g6c6IWaqrSfXZsQP6LMDmIC9TEfDg-uR3V9p-CUf08fSEhPqDku5jVbWGkfHitd6tjQ.p117W0c5RwFwclOokcW0LERy3nndeQ7i4llCWrK4Bvs&dib_tag=se&keywords=the+great+molasses+flood&qid=1734056043&sprefix=the+great+molasses+flood%2Caps%2C93&sr=8-1
@@mommabear2many thank you! I put a hold on it with our library.
Plymouth Rock, Plimouth Plantation, the Mayflower, the Wampanoag Village, Ocean Spray Museum, Sandwich Glass Museum, Sandwich Grist Mill.
This is so helpful
❤❤❤
You totally amaze me how you organize and multi task so many things at once for a large family. God Blessed you truly.
Thank you so much! 😊. Have a great day!
Yes! As a mom to a "large" but much smaller family than yours I'm amazed at your organizational skills.
I loved my public school and go to a state collage at 70 years. You never stop learning . I am an advide reader. Loved my library. I was born in MA. I am still exploring my state. The Whaling Museun in New Bedford. Fall River at Battleship Cove.
Thanks I’ll look into those
Thanks for sharing all your tips and ideas! 😊❤
I really enjoyed hearing about how you homeschool and how you are a lifelong learner yourself. I totally agree that we learn right from the very beginning. For myself, I really struggled to learn to read, which made reading not much fun for me. But I am happy to report that, as an adult, I have finally found joy in reading. I prefer physical books, but they are slowly taking over my home. Lol. I am just wondering, have you ever purchased from Pango Books or Abe Books? Thanks for all the sharing you do.
You are doing wonderful. God Bless ❤
Thanks for sharing!
Mama Bear I am praying 🙏🏻 for Your beautiful Baby you have a beautiful Family You have beautiful Hair I really enjoy you Channel You are a wonderful Mother God bless you all 🙏🏻✝️☮️🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🌲💕❤️💙💐🌹♥️🍀💗❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
Thank you so much
well done mom , great way to teach
Love your videos! Can you share where you got your data about people not reading complete books? Thank you!
Great information you are sharing and teaching your children
You have gorgeous hair. When I read an book I need to have the actual book in my hands. I can't do ebooks. I do read articles online but that's it. I love watching RUclips videos to learn about history or things like learning about the amish or learning about ingenginous people.
I liked where you related text books to shorts. That was a really good observation
Math and science is so important.
I'm a advid reader,l like books not books on tablet's,l hope your kids never give that up.Your a best mother out there keep doing what your doing
We were suppose to read the book: "The Great Gatsby".
I never did make it through the complete book.
I have a reading disability and I really dislike trying to read anything.
What kind of thing do you use for maths? Or is that something you include within the other work they’re doing? I know some homeschool families use online curriculum and others print off or books?
ETA at my daughter’s school here there’s a big push on reading this year(she’s in a secondary school). So for lunch they have 30 minutes free time to eat, relax etc and 30 minutes tutor time or 2 out of 5 days they have year assembly. The other 3 out of 5 days is purely for quiet reading of any book (within reason) of their choice. She also reads each night before sleep so gets through quite a few books. I know next week from Monday she’s going to be reading a book about Chernobyl that she’s asked me to get for her so I know she’s not just reading fiction. X
Have you considered going to the local thrift stores for books, puzzles, etc.? Maybe even yardsales or estate sales for books?
I hear you on schools! And if there is no better reason to homeschool, just look what happened during the shutdown - after 4 years, they are STILL BLAMING it for why kids aren't learning. No - we have known kids were likely to "remote learn" for over 60-70 years, just watch some of the old tv programs - and they NEVER made adjustments for that. I am wondering though, if since you have been in Boston for so long, if you need to follow their guidelines for Homeschooling, or if you can continue to use those of Maine??
Have you been to castle island, or the constitution ship. Those places are great. We took our kiddos to castle island frequently when thy were growing up.
Are you allowed to put a mobile above Azariah's bed? I've heard black/white images are good for baby's development.
Also, I am trying to remember to let the ads play on your videos to help out in a small way.
I read physical books. I always have.
Have you read Make Way for Ducklings by Robert McLoskey? It was set in Boston and there is a park that has the duckling statues at the public garden in Boston Commons. Our nieces and nephew enjoyed walking around there.I am still a big reader of books. I do listen to audio books but I love having a book in my hands and reading.😊
Do all your kids love to read? You are doing great.
I understand how you 'unschool' your children but wonder how they learn to read, write etc xx
What a phenomenonal way to learn!! ❤❤
Thank you I think so too. I learn so much as an adult as well
Do you see Azariah daily?
Yes
I remember that there isna school which I believed to be in Boston that builds hand crafted wooden boats and furniture; notmsurenif its the same school or location. Amd alsomtjat per some TV based articles they have some sort of visitor program. Below is a link to an article about a hand crafted boat building place which I think is different than the one I hibk i was thinking of.
ruclips.net/video/1_kuBpSNWdI/видео.htmlsi=2buoe0trtC25o_yB
Thank you I’ll look it up!
What are you doing about their math, their English skills? Their spelling and vocabulary? Science? I began homeschooling in the '80s when homeschooling began so homeschooling is familiar to me. Have they been tested? You can only stretch yourself so thin. It would truly be a shame if they missed important skills they needed. Mine wasn't perfect either, but I was always aware where my kids were academically.
I went to public school, my son did and my grandchildren are now attending. We and they have always been required to read whole books. We all attended NYC public schools.
Interesting there has actually been a lot recently about the lack of whole books in education. My son went to public highschool and was never asked to read a book.
Your children are very smart& learn by all the stuff you do& where you go.Your hair is so beautiful ,by the way.🥰✨☃️❄🎄🛷🎅💖🌴
Thank you
What about math and science for the kids?
This was covered how they learn in the video.
Look into the Native Americans War of King Philiip. Plymouth Plantation is okay.
You have beautiful hair…you should wear it out!
I am a retired public school teacher, with a specialty in reading. I taught 27 years. I have some real problems understanding home schooling requirements. If one of your children wants to enroll in public schools or a university, what are they required to do?
Dear mama Bear. We are living through history right now. What's going on in the world. What is going on in our country. This is called social studies. Just make sure you're not teach them about communism. But you could teach them what communism is. Now what are you teaching them in music. Does anybody play the piano. Or a guitar. Banjo flute. You can take lessons on youtube. What are they learning about God and Jesus And Holy Spirit.. Bible study.
You are so amazing. I just can’t imagine going through as much as you have and are able to make sure everyone is safe and happy and healthy and still be staying at the hospital and not getting much sleep. God bless you and your family . I am a avid reader. Love, hugs and prayers to your whole family.
I’m just trying definitely not perfect. Hoping the Lord will forgive and guide me when I fail.
@ I am sure He is given you the strength and His wisdom guiding you.
