Man, by chance I stumbled upon your channel. I have watched so many videos about MagicaVoxel 101s but none, absolutely none of them explain the way you do. You are awesome. Lucky for me, I found your channel. Keep up the good work man.
Those lessons are well edited and organized and took little time to absorb, not boring at all, thanks for your effort. Im on magica voxel to make dioramas in isometric view, i like both simplicity of voxels and naturalism, your videos gonna help me a lot.
@@PedroCasavecchia yes I went through all the vids and keep on watching them, really cool stuff! Since the new version of magicavoxel, will you do one on how to use the animation feature on that?
Ola, Pedro! Thanks for the videos about MV. You've made these very useful and informative and I'd appreciate if you'd remain as elaborate as you were. This one in particular, might be seen as long and not for beginners but you've managed to wrap in all the explanations within 17 minutes. I'm sure your preparation was much much longer - hence, thanks again for an excellent introduction to lighting in MV
Fala!
Hi Pedro. Great lesson and thank you for doing this. Is there a way to remove the horizon line when rendering in perspective mode? There is an option to "blur" the horizon by expanding the ground menu, but I can't seem to find a way to completely remove it and have a smooth transition between the ground and the background.
Hey! The only "quick" solution is to do your best to match the background color to your ground color. Unfortunately there's not an "infinite background" option. I'll cover this and other specific questions into a final video on the series.
@@PedroCasavecchia Thank you so much - yeah, setting up the ground and then adjusting the background to match does the trick. Can't wait for the next video.
I really want to know if i Can import obj with all complexe material like fog, glass and clouds. 😁🙏 Thanks for your vidéos i actually learn lots of things !!!
Hey! I'm glad you are enjoying the series! Unfortunately the OBJ format does not store that kind of information within it. Only 3D geometry, UVs and color. ):
Hey! Thank you very much! That's an emissive type material on the color. I have a tutorial about materials on the series that you can watch. Let me know if that helps.
Hello Pedro, so this might sound stupid but. i use it on mac and i don't see the ground (no ground) option. i feel my pannel is hidden i don't know how to get it shown.
Hey! Unfortunately I don't have a mac to test it on and figure out how to make it show. But maybe on my discord server someone could help you. Here's an invite: discord.gg/Ff4Jn7f
How important is lighting in magicavoxel, or the rendering ability of it in general, when it comes to exporting the project to use in another program, like blender or unreal? Slowly been trying to teach myself unreal 5 for game dev, as well as how to make my own assets with magica and blender, so just curious if those other programs remove the need to use the render part of magica. Fantastic tutorials as well. Massive help.
Hey! I'm glad it's being useful to you! Thanks for watching. You can't really export the magicavoxel materials to other software. Only a texture color. So I would say not important at all. With this said, the concepts of materials in this tutorial still apply to other 3D software like blender.
Hi Pedro, i have a problem with MagicaVoxel: when you move the camera around the object, at some point in the video, you find the sun circle; but in my case, when i try to find the sun with the camera, my view only becomes white. I mean, there is still the object i am working with in the scene, but instead of finding a circle of light i only get a white flash in the scene. I tried to adjust the area and the intensity of the "sun" parameters (i also tried to toggle the sun on and off) but i ended up with no results. Is there something i'm missing? Thanks.
Hi there. It's hard for me to just by reading. I suggest you join my Discord server ( link in desc). The only thing I can think of is that maybe you have your IBL (image based lighting) turned on and you are seeing the light dome. Let me know

Hello, if I dont want to see the hdri background but use its light ?
Hey! Go to the "all" panel instead of "light". Find background and click where it says "transparent". Hope that helps you
