Well done. Good pacing and thoroughly covered the features. I've always modeled with traditional poly tools and then used filters to crunch the model into pixel (voxel) mode. This is a terrific little tool!
The World View... I've been pulling my hair over it as I've seen some silent tutorials use it for different objects of the scene they're creating... Bananas! Thank you for this super helpful beginner tutorial.

Thanks! If we do anther MagicaVoxel tutorial, I will definitely show how to do that! (In short, once you go into the World View, you'll see a "+" icon on the top panel. Click that and it will add a new object space. You can then click the move handles to place the new object space in a different part of the world.)

i took your Gameboy render and upscaled it using 40 40 60 for the dimensions and it turned out alright actually. not bad to adapt a class project by going further beyond.

Which export formats carry all Magica Voxel properties out with them faithfully (material settings etc)? 2. Is it possible to keyframe and export animations (of say the transform value)? Thank you

I hope they improve the UI presentation more in the future. Such as when we hovering icon. Show the info next to mouse cursor instead of bottom. It's ok working on small size monitor, but I'm using 43 inch monitor and I realized it's strain my neck in the long run. Love the software ♥️ Great tutorial as well!
This update (released Sept 2020) is the last update for at least a year according to the creator, so you'll probably have to wait a while for those UI changes.

my model is floating few grids up from the clear cube, I want to put it down but can't move the model separately from the basic cube.. whenever I try to add voxels they add up from the floor cube not from the same heights the model is

I have dowloaded voxel and extracted the files but it does not open. Any tips. I am running a 64 bit on windows 11
