You are the first RUclips based production tutorialist that I can handle listening to. Well spoken, explained, and informed. I follow a few but I rarely go to seek out their videos or re-reference them. The examples you give are so universally applicable. Appreciate it massively.
Hi Sam, I really appreciate how you leave each setting for a few moments as you go through the different parameters so that we can really hear what each one is doing... awesome job (as always) !!!! Steve
great video! only small mistake: at the point about 15:50, the adjustment of the dB on the right is in reference to the scale of the post effect equalizer and not to the "Decay Rate EQ" control (in fact if you look at the blue one on the left it remains unchanged). It is the same command that we also find in the ProQ3. Thanks anyway for the info, you gave me some great ideas
Thank you for making all these Fabfilter tutorials! Been using them for months now but there are so many secret little functions that I wasn't aware of!
I've watched a bunch of review and tutorials on various things, bro your natural at this....Vid was not boring , and detailed at same time!.....Peaceeeee
Yes, your speech was very helpfull. The actual speech from the video: The brightness will change the brightness of the reverb. The character knob at clean will give you a clean ton. If you put the character toards the chorus the reverb will have chorus. The distance is far or close. If you se to close, is like you are close to the sound source. Far is like you are very far from the sound source. Yes, i would never ever guess that. Very helpfull.
Very informative. Best video I have seen on this plugin. I just bought it and I feel a lot better knowing that I can use this now after having seen this video. Thank you.
@@samsmyers I have the same pair. Bought my Dad a pair too because we both love music. I actually had to send it my pair back for repair. The left ear had no audio output for some reason. They fixed it. Great video btw. I see myself using the verb on vox for sure
I would appreciate it if you make some video about how to use these plugins in real life situation. What I mean is, now is like the Splice era which most of the production these days depends on the samples from there. The thing about the samples is it comes pre-processed with delays, reverbs etc. What would be beneficial to all is learning how to approach the samples using the Fabfilter plugins, as an example, removing reverb and changing it to different ambient, stereo image, how to EQ them to make them sits with the tracks and other similar tricky situation. Then all those creative gating, filtering and other manipulation, but using the Fabfilter plugins that I believe 90% of the people doing production have in their arsenal. Just an idea because you made really really good tutorial. I already know most of the stuff but still watching it and surprised how many features of the plugins that I've missed, for that thank you very much.
Thanks! Here is one on vocals, but yes I can do more specific ones on how to mix samples How to Mix Vocals with Fabfilter Plugins ruclips.net/video/Exd3QPavyGo/видео.html
You can’t remove a reverb from a sample to make it dryer. You can reduce the tail but that’s it. I think this tutorial was great and suited to my situation, I don’t use splice.
What about using it as a fx send? what are good settings for that OR is there something else better suited for a fx sent insert? TY and really gr8 video.. +1 sub..
@@samsmyers I liked the sound of Logic’s stock Space Designer well enough, but I just love how versatile the pro-R is. That’s the only other one I’ve used, hah. It’s nice not having to run your reverb through an EQ but just fiddle with the brightness and other knobs instead!
idk man you are just reading the knobs on the screen and stating the obvious, thanks but we can see the screen, you gotta work on your teaching skills, put in more effort

Full chorus sounds like Blade Runner ishh.. How cool is that..💯💯..The way you descibe things is golden and has a very unique way of expression..👍👍
Very good tutorial. Clear and concise, exactly what I was looking for. Thank you Sam.

Excellent video. Probably the best on this plugin that I’ve seen on RUclips. Subscribed! (Neither a Serum nor Ableton user, however, just FYI.)
Thanks for the sub!
