Well, with most screen protectors i have bought yet, you don't need scissors to use the glue. You're supposed to keep the cap on and turn it. It will break open properly. Other than that, really informative video. Helped A LOT. Thank You!
Holy cow. Works perfect! Since i got phones with ultrasonic fingerprint scanner i using UV glass and never using the sensor, because it's never work properly with those glasses. Your solution works in 100% and finally i can use my fingerprint scanner in S22 ultra :)
So happy to hear! In a nutshell, the concept behind the technique shown in this video is both to reduce the distance, and the amount of glue the pulse travels through. Even though we feature older phones, we've tried it on most of the newer devices including the s22 Ultra and looking at the specs of ultrasonic fingerprint sensors, they can only all work using this technique. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further. Best regards,
Very helpful! Thanks A LOT! Without your video, I wouldn't have had the courage to actually try it out! Greetings from germany and keep up the good work!
Pretty much. I meant to do a side-by-side comparison video, but curved screens indeed make the glass more fragile. While flat glass can flex when the phone is dropped, dissipating impacts, curved glass can't. Curved glass can twist a bit, but due to the curved sides acting more or less as the side members of an I-beam compared to flat metal, it's more rigid. It's kind of like the difference between how trees snap but grass is fine after a strong wind.
Thanks a million for the fingerprint tip cause when i first installed the uv screen protector i had to be pressing hard on the screen to get it to unlock and was moving slow to do so. Thanks again.
This trick works man... I bought a glass for s21 ultra from a local market n the trick which u showed for fingerprint scanner worked wonders... Thanks a bunch brother 😊
Not a problem at all Jaywrat. Thank you for taking your time to comment and thank you for letting me know you found the video helpful. It is very rewarding to hear that. Any questions, please do not hesitate to comment further. Have a good one.
Hey mate nice video very instructional. I bought x2 of these screen protectors and the only instructions they had were 4 boxes on the back and no writing. The boxes didnt even show you how to use all the accessories that came with it. I stuffed up the first attempt and watched a few videos (not yours) to see what to do. Next attempt was better but I got a bubble in the middle of the screen. lightly pushed it out with my finger and it made some of the glue come out the sides. I cured the glue for about 15 minutes with the UV light. It looked pretty good glue seemed to be quite even. When i got up the next day there was a spot down on the bottom edge and side edge where it didn't stick. Looks like it didn't cure. had to pull it off and throw it out as well. How are you getting it to stick with only a few minutes of using the UV light? I cured it for 15 minues.
I applied the simplest way I can and the installation is 99.90% perfect just 1 needle point sized bubble which can't be seen unless you try to focus hard on that. Also while applying UV light I didn't care about fingerprint sensor area I applied equally at all places and guess what fingerprint works flawlessly so it's indeed not necessary to hide the fingerprint area while applying UV light. Believe me or not it's just a gimmick about fingerprint UV light direction that you told in your video, UV light just need to apply a little bit longer I applied it for about 10-15 minutes and the results are incredible for me!
Thank you for sharing your experience! May I ask which phone you are using? As someone who have tested over hundreds of different protectors for various models, I can confirm the technique I demonstrate here is not a gimmick. What you may have is either a phone with a longer range ultrasonic reader or a thinner than usual tempered glass screen protector.
Hi there! I loved your oka blade video and I'm wondering if it would work with the OnePlus 7 pro and if you have any advice or tips for my specific model! Thank you very much! If all is good then I will buy it tomorrow
@@QasemElagez LOL and here i was thinking i had a chance😂😂😂 maybe ill keep my minimally cracked screen the way it is and wait until its fully cracked everywhere to try and replace😅 Do you remember what went wrong?
Thanks for great tutorial. I applied it to my phone perfectly. Fingerprint sensor works as same. My biggest concern is some people claim it is too hard to remove after 3-5 months usage because it got harder and more sticky in time while absorbing more UV light at outside. Did you had any experience about that? One day it may broke and we really may need to remove it.
Hello Ozan, Thank you for your comment! I am very sorry for having missed your comment. It is partly true. The glue does indeed get stronger/harder. It does require a bit more force for it to come off but it is definitely not too hard, and you can still remove it with your fingernails. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further. Best regards,
just after 5 days of using this shitty screen protector, I had to remove it because it was causing touch screen problems, and it was hard removing it, i dont recommend using these type of screen protectors tbh
I have used it twice. The first one was in for almost one year. I has to remove it with a heat gun and a surgent knife. For installing and durability i give it a 10/10. Removing it - 5/10. Make sure this is gona be you're last one on you're Phone.
I just got a curved screen phone which is VIVO v40 pro, too much work on installing a tempered glass.. dang ..my question is..does it make it hard to take the tempered glass due to the glue we put on it?
Great explanation! I have three of these UV lights, would it hurt or help if I used them at the same time for one glass? And should I move them around or fixture them obove the phone and not move them?
Hello Aleksandar, Thank you for taking your time to comment and thank you very much for your compliment! As for your question, no it would not hurt if you used multiple lights at the same time. The only thing you would want to be mindful of is the fingerprint sensor area (For S10 and up If you are wishing to use the fingerprint unlock after), you'd want to cure that area separately while gently pressing down on the area as shown in the video. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further/contact us. Have a great rest of the day.
@@ecdiy Thank you very much for the fast reply! I've noticed that for the fingerprint sensor in your video. I will try this tonight with the help of your video, hope it goes flawlessly 👍
Thank you for the video. I have bought a UV protector for a new Oneplus 12R. The screen has a cut out hole where the front camera is. I assume that the glue will go into this hole - will this affect the front camera? Will it affect the quality of photos? I would prefer not to risk damaging it in any way
Hi I ordered p30 pro front glass/ leans replacement from your eBay store. First of all thanks for your great customer service/ assistance! The item should be delivered on the 28th or 29th so that's fine. But my question is I've ordered full kit and it comes with wires instead of the thin plate which you showed and used in your S8 replacement video. Would I be still be able to separate the outtter glass with the wire if heat applied without talking out the entire phone and screen?? What's your suggestion thanks!
Hello, thank you for taking your time to comment and thank you very much for your kind words. With the wire tool kit without the OCA blade, you would need to remove the display so you can sneak the wire tool in between the correct layers (between the outer glass and the rest of the display panel. As noted on our site, OCA blade can be added to any kit for an additional charge ($7.99) at the time of purchase. Although you mentioned your kit has already been shipped, we should be able to offer the same discount. If you are ok with partial tracking (tracking would stop once it leaves the country), you can have it shipped at half the cost also. If we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further. Best regards,
Hi. Thank you for your tutorial , work perfectly for fingerprint on Honor Magic5 Pro.. I dont like others type screen protector (hydrogel, tpu).. Thats why i buy this tempered glass + UV glue, but hold for about 3 4 month 😂.. When saw your video, immediately go for it..
Not a problem at all! UV tempered glass screen protectors get a lot of criticism but when it's installed properly, it's just as good as the conventional flat tempered glass screen protectors. I'm so happy to hear my information was helpful in helping you protect your display! Any questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further. Have a great weekend!
hey, i just did this and at the part of the video where u put the sticker on the screen to "uv light" the area around the fingerprint sensor i did the same thing, but when i finished it all it left an outline of the sticker on the phone, can i fix it somehow?
Assuming it is just adhesive transfer from the sticker, you should be able to wipe it clean with isopropyl alcohol or any glass cleaner. Hope that helps! Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further/contact us. Best regards,
I get but also don't get the UV glue installation. It seems messy and semi permanent and I'm concerned about what to do once the screen protector is finished, ripout the protector possibly damaging the screen or not removing it forever?
The adhesive used for UV glue application isn't any stronger than the conventional silicone based adhesive used on flat screen protectors. You won't damage the display when removing the screen protector. Some residue may be left which can easily be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol. Unfortunately for curved display phones, when it comes to tempered glass screen protectors currently, you're left with either UV glue or a thicker pad based adhesive that is weaker because the glass cannot be as thick.
Hello, I am planning on replacing the glass only on my s10 screen.. and I was wondering how do I keep the loca from getting in my camera or speaker without taking the phone apart if possible?
Hello Nathan, thank you for taking your time to comment. Unfortunately, as is right now I'm afraid you would be looking at removing the back to clean the camera area at least. Now for the good news: We have developed a special seal tape to go around the camera lens and we've been experimenting with it yielding good results but it's not ready to be distributed yet as we're still trying to determine the best/easiest way for the customer to achieve consistency. (The top right corner beyond the camera has to be brushed with LOCA but if it's brushed too thick, it can cause the excess to seep in to the camera). It requires some tweaking but there are 2 alternatives one is having film based adhesive applied on the corner. The other, more exciting: We have found a very cheap alternative to bubble remover/auto clave you can assemble (pre-assembled will increase the shipping fee un-necessarily) at home with a $15.00 item (estimated price) we can offer which along with our pre-laminated front glass, you'd be able to install the front glass with OCA, We have finally concluded our testing with consistent results but before we get into distributing any of the above for the newer phones, we want to perfect the glass removal tutorial/process because we have been having customers who do not succeed the glass removal process. Most of them were due to not following the 1st thing we mention in the video before inserting our tool which we mention is "very important" (curling the tip of the tool and inserting it in a way that the tip is touching the underside of the front glass) in the video. I know some may disagree but we find that if there are multiple people making the same mistake, we take it as a sign that something can be improved on our end. We have been taking all feedback into consideration and we have something exciting to share. Stay tuned!
@@ecdiy ok thank you for the information! I did successfully remove the glass off of my old galaxy s6 edge without any issues, I did it as a test run for my s10. The bubble remove would be awsome if everything goes well, do you know about how soon it will be available?
@@nathanberger2680 Hello Nathan, we are not sure about the timing at the moment. It might be one of those things others go "why didn't I think of that?" as it's a very simple combination of 2 low cost items that already exist. While we do not have a problem sharing knowledge to empower DIYers around the world, we are not sure exactly how we would feel if someone were to simply copy our idea (Which we spent a lot of time and resources over the past 6 months to ensure it works for all cases). For this reason we may wait until the patent is granted rather than release it during the 'pending' phase. Our decision on how we proceed has yet to be made. I apologize. Also, we want to tackle the common errors first, again the common errors are due to not following cautions we already mention in our videos but we're going to be releasing 2 new videos first with stronger emphasis on those points and wait to confirm we can indeed eliminate the common errors first. Best regards,
Hello, does pressing the fingerprint sensor while curing also applied to Spigen Glass tr Platinum? I see that Whitestone include a rubber for that purpose on their package, while spigen glass tr platinum doesn't. Meanwhile, other certain spigen type included a weight (similar to whitestone rubber) on their package. Does that mean tr platinum doesn't need pressing on the fingerprint sensor? What if I apply your method, will it affect that spigen type's glue?
I already purchased both a screen protector and screen glass replacement kit with UV glue (bu lai en b-7000). Is it possible to use your universal OCA Blade add-a-glass kit for the screen glass it's self and use the UV glue originally intended for the screen to bond the protector to it? It might be worth mentioning that the protector has those touch enhancing bumps, but I didn't realize that until it arrived. Edit: also can regular tape help to keep the glue out of the buttons and speaker? If not can you bind the protector to the screen glass first then install them both as one piece? And what do you think of using the liquid glass "protectors" to enhance the tempered glass?
Great video,But have a question, My S10 plus has scratches ON the edge (right corner), and ON the right corner and a hairline down, from the right corner scratches. Do I need to glue that first (perhaps with LOCA UV?) , or is this a cure , also for the scratches
Hello, Thank you for your kind words! To answer your question, the glue included in the UV screen protectors can fill scratches, but please note that if the screen is cracked, I advise against using it. The glue is quite viscous and may seep below the crack. Instead, we recommend using our LOCA adhesive when the screen is cracked. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further. Have a great rest of the day.
I already installed this type of uv screen protector and fingerprint sensor stop working (Samsung s21 plus) and i ordered ringke screen film Extra like for this appreciated work
Hello Mostafa, Thank you for taking your time to comment. I'm sorry to hear of your experience but I can confirm that the same method works for S21 series phones as well. As long as the glass is brought closer to the screen a little bit during the curing process, the sensor will be able to read the fingerprint without an issue. Any questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further. Best regards,

The biggest problem with tempered is the glue is super weak. I have installed them perfect and they all lift up in the first week. Zagg makes some of the best tempered glass protectors if you have no curved edges, but they don't use the crappy uv glue.
I am aware of the issue you are referring to, and our products use a different type of adhesive. Could you please confirm if you are referring to a protector you purchased from us? Additionally, you may want to check how your case aligns with the protector. Even the non-UV adhesive, which is silicone-based and is used on all flat tempered glass screen protectors, can lift if your case is more flexible than usual and presses against the edges in a way that causes a lift. Check to see if the very edge of your protector isn't rounded/rolled.
Thanks for this nice guide video. It's the first time I used UV protective glass and the fingerprint has become very bad. Now that I have ordered again, I will follow your method. I want to ask a little question; How much pressure is estimated on the fingerprint sensor. Can you give a number in grams?
Hello Tolga, Thank you for your kind words! It's not a whole lot, if I were to estimate it in grams, it would be 80g-100g? Let me know if you have any further questions/concerns. Best regards,
I pressed like you said in the video and got the little bubble in the center over the fingerprint sensor like you said... I was pressing very lightly... Is there a fix to this?
Thanks for making this video! Seems very good way to protect my s22 ultra... for what i see this protector covers the front selfie camera... do this compromise the quality of the selfies? Or is it exactly the same result? And i wish to know more about the durability of this kind of protectors is it better than hydrogel protectors? Thanks for your help!
Not a problem at all. Thank you for your kind words. The adhesive and protectors are optically clear and the quality of the selfies are not affected by installing one of these UV tempered glass screen protectors. The problem with UV protectors I come across are edges peeling over time due to other objects in the pocket flicking against the edges of the protector. In my opinion, the glue should be a bit stronger but it seems to be the same across all the manufacturers we have tested. The problem is hydrogel protectors is that it's prone to scratches and little 'dings' as it's a soft material. It's great against protecting scratches, but it does not offer as much protection when it comes to protecting the display against damages due to impact. Kind of like getting punched in the arm when you are wearing a thick sweater (hydrogel) vs when you are wearing a solid metal armor (tempered glass; exaggeration but you get the idea. The impact gets spread across the solid layer), better than getting punched without anything on either way. It's of course, best not to get punched but sometimes the ground call our phones for a visit and it answers every now and then.
@@ecdiy lol!!! Yes sometimes grown really calls our phones! And if not my dog will definitely make my phone visit the grownd! 😅🤣 thank you very much for the explanations now ill go get myself a uv screen protectors because in my hands hydrogel lasts only 2 - 3 weeks tops... do you recomend an specific brand over another? Or all are basically the same?
Great question! No it does not. The adhesive is optically clear and it does not affect the camera quality. From my experience, not having a cut-out for the camera is a superior design; Protectors with a cut-out for the camera area can often accumulate dust/debris/sweat/oil from skin in that area, making it difficult to clean. It also leaves a narrow section of glass around the top/side of the camera hole which is prone to cracking very easily. Any questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further! Have a great rest of the day.
Unless you got a lot of it in there, I wouldn't worry as the slot the S-pen goes in to is a sealed metal compartment within the phone's frame. The connector for recognizing the S-pen in the slot is at the very deep end of the slot as well so I wouldn't personally worry. However, because the glue only cures with UV, you can always clean out the S-pen slot with isopropyl alcohol. The adhesive is said to have a shelf life of 1 year but I have personally used glue that's much older without an issue. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further. Best regards,
@@ecdiy thank you for the reply appreciate the guide. I just wanted to ask about the port like clean it will a cotton buds, how would I clean the pen that would be covered with the adhesive ? I'm afraid that the dried up glue will get to the bottom, hopefully I get the pen out of the port fingers crossed Also is there a way to get it out like try to pull on it over time or I have to wait it's been like 2 weeks
My glass on s22 ultra always comes out from sides no matter how may times i installed it. it will stay perfect for a day or 2 but 3rd day it comes out. Any Advice will be appriciated
Hello, Are you by any chance using a flexible case? So something we found across all brands of this type of UV glue is that the glue is a bit weak. If you have a tight fitting case that's flexible like TPU or silicone, when the phone is jostled around in the pocket the case can actually press against the edge and cause it to lift. Other than that, it could be a form defect where the glass isn't made to match the screen perfectly but these are pretty rare these days. (It was more of an issue when curved tempered glass screen protectors were new You can use stronger glue like our LOCA glue to install protectors. It holds much better. It does require a bit more force to remove as a result, and it does leave a bit of residue but it can be removed by hand without special equipment and you can wipe the residue clean with isopropyl alcohol. Let me know if this is something you'd be interested in. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further/contact us. Best regards,
@@ecdiy Thanks for your quick reply i really appriciate. NO I am not using fexible case i am using case from Spigen Tough Armor for s22 ultra. This LOCA glue what you mention will not be the same as we get with these UV glass ?
@@Abdl8sam Not a problem at all! Happy to help. You can try to squeeze the sides of the case to see if it causes the protector to lift/deflect. You should be able to see this under certain lighting. If it is a recent install, you might even be able to see the changes in how the glass layer contacts the glue layer as well. The LOCA glue we carry is indeed not the same as the one with the UV glasses. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further/contact us. Have a great rest of the day.
I'm very sorry for the late reply. I missed the notification for your response. I'm certainly biased in this but the brand we use is Stronghold. LOCA stands for Liquid Optically Clear Adhesive, there are several options but please kindly note many LOCAs require a separate UV lamp to cure. (Ours is specially formulated to by hypersensitive to UV, so much so that exposure to daylight on a cloudy winter day is enough to cure the glue. I'd also like to note that ours can also be cured with a UV light). When I use this glue to apply the screen protector, it does not lift nor fail before the glass layer itself does. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further. Best regards,
Thank you for your kind words! We will have tutorials for iPhones soon! We do have the same products (glass replacements and screen protectors) for iPhones now however. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further. Best regards,
Thank you for your kind words! Yes, UV glue hides scratches from the actual screen but it shouldn't be used on cracked screens as the glue would seep past the surface and leave an unsightly void. If the cracks are along the edges, the glue can seep into the internals and cause damage also.
i have a quesiton, does applying uv glue lessen the sensitivity of the screen? or its not reading the finger faster? or it improves the sensitivity? sorry my english is bad, i hope you understand and answer. pls thankyou
Do these UV screen protectors come off clean after a year or two? or does the glue harden to a point that you have to scrape it off the screen? or should i just get a plastic membrane?

Very happy to hear it's helpful! Did you by any chance buy from us? If so, happy to send you a replacement tube of glue as a courtesy. You can avoid bubbles by popping the bubbles (if any) prior to lowering the glass, and lowering the glass slowly. Any questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further. When it comes to curved tempered glass screen protectors, the conventional silicone based adhesive where all you have to do is line up the protector and press in the center to have the adhesive bonding throughout is not applicable. When it comes to curved tempered glass screen protectors, you would find that they either have adhesive along the edges only, or rely on liquid glue for full adhesion. There are some protectors that uses a thicker silicone pad, but this comes at the cost of the glass being considerably thinner, making it more prone to damage. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further/contact us. Best regards,

@@janvolckaert7704 For iPhones, and all flat display phones for that matter, there is no need for the UV glue. The conventional protector adhesive as mentioned above work just fine. @@ecdiy i have so much little scratches on the screen, with the glue, is like new. So i can use any screenprotector with UV glue if i understand you. Thanks in advance for the help.
I would recommend putting something larger to cover the area as the area that you're going to bring closer in order for the fingerprint sensor to work will pull the area around it closer to the display ever so slightly. If the uncured area of the glue is too small, it may not work. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further. Have a great rest of the day.
Got you! Jk. I think it's a pretty good gauge. Most likely yes. The shelf life is stated to be 1 year but I've personally used glue that's over 4 years old as an experiment and have not found it to be different. As long as it was kept factory sealed, in a relatively stable environment temperature wise, and away from direct light, it should be ok to use. Any questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further. Have a great day.

is the front camera quality still the same after installation? since there is a layer of glue and glass covering it i'm worried the quality might change
Hello, I can confirm that as the glue is optically clear, the camera quality is not affected. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further. Best regards,
Hello, thank you for taking your time to comment. We know that you can replace the front glass and not experience the screen finger print sensor. However we do not have an experience when it comes replacing the display as a whole with a new panel yet. I do remember reading an online thread somewhere where there was an issue after a display swap. I am not sure what could have caused it or if it's even true (or truly the display's fault and not the connector/installer) but just taking a wild guess, I wonder if it's possible that this issue is experienced if the display was refurbished using thicker OCA than factory spec? I know that thicker OCA films are preferred sometimes as it is more forgiving but thicker OCA films may cause more ultrasonic attenuation through the material thereby cause inaccurate/partial reading? Just a guess. Ultrasonic is sound waves after all.

when trying to peel the thin film by pulling the sticker, the sticker just comes off without peeling. How can i get the thin film off? Im using XT-one xmart UV glass protector for my xiaomi 12 pro. Thanks!
This for some reason is quite common. I'm not sure why but it happens with some of our protectors too. The only way is to carefully pick at it with your finger/fingernail until you break the tension sealing the protective film to the glass. Once it's lifted even 1mm in the corner, it becomes much easier to peel off. Hope that helps!
Hello Shin, Thank you for taking your time to comment! I apologize for the delay in my response. Was this by any chance with a purchase from us? If so, it is not a problem at all for us to send you a replacement free of charge. Please let us know of your order details and we will have it processed asap. However, please kindly note that this is typically due to under-curing of the glue, or it being spread out too thin which can happen if you were pressing down too hard to spread the glue. For the most part, the glue will spread under the weight of the glass on its own. If we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. Wishing you a pleasant rest of the day.

after installing Tempered glass through UV glue my biometric finger print sensons takes time to detect and most of the time it fails, I havent covered the sensor during the UV Light. So is my sensor got damaged or changing the Tempered glass will it come to normal?
Your fingerprint sensor is definitely not damaged. The glue isn't able to permeate the glass nor the display membrane to damage the fingerprint sensor which is below the surface. So the concept behind the 'trick' demonstrated in the video is to reduce the distance between the finger and the sensor. Ultrasonic fingerprint sensors are a highly sensitive electronic and the ultrasonic waves aren't able to travel too far. However, by curing the sensor area separately while pressing down, it does bring it close enough. It's also worth noting that, either way you'd want to re-register the fingerprint after the install as the way ultrasonic waves travel through through the additional glue & glass layer is different than without.
You can indeed use it on an iPhone 11 and it will hide minor scratches. However, even a conventional silicone adhesive based tempered glass screen protector (the one where you align the protector and press in the center to see the adhesive bonding throughout) should hide minor scratches. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further. Have a great rest of the day!
Hello Darren, Thank you for your comment. The only problem if you will with TPU screen protectors is that it hazes over time as it scratches very easily. It also feels a bit rubbery and it offers very little protection against impact. OLED screens are quite expensive and they're not easy to repair. For these reasons we still recommend tempered glass screen protectors over all other types of screen protectors. If you have any further insight into this matter, please do not hesitate to share. Have a great rest of the day!

Hello Casey, Thank you for taking your time to comment. I am not quite sure what you mean by 'without any scratches on the original screen'. The protector is installed/uninsatlled the same way whether the screen is scratched or not and the process itself does not leave any scratches. If we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us or comment further. Have a great rest of the day.
Yes, you can. It can be peeled just with your fingernail, just as with the traditional flat tempered glass screen protector with silicone based adhesive (the one where all you have to do is line up the protector and press in the center to see the adhesive bonding throughout - just as a side note, this type of adhesive cannot be used on curved screens however)
i fuck it up, i put my glass and it had 2 bubbles and i didint know what to do so i lifted it up and when i place it back again it created more bubbles so i dont have now protected glass :D : D XD
@@Sp3NgL3R_MF I'm so sorry to hear that. Did you by any chance purchase from us? If so, we can send you a courtesy replacement. Please contact us for further details. If you happen to get bubbles when the glue is dispensed, it is best to pop it first (you can just use the tip of the glue tube) prior to laying the glass down. Have a great rest of the day!
Yes you can! The process is slightly different, contact us for details! Our glue is stronger so it isn't prone to lifting even when you have something like a key in your pocket flick along the edges. It is still removable without special equipment should the need be, however it does leave residue which can be cleaned via isopropyl alcohol/glass cleaner. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further/contact us. Best regards,
You can apply this on flat screen phones also. However, in my personal opinion there is no need to because for flat screens, the silicone based conventional tempered glass screen protector adhesive (the one where all you have to do is align the protector and press in the center to initiate the adhesive bonding throughout) works well. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further!
Yes, it peels off the same way. Sometimes a little bit of residue is left on the screen instead of coming up with the protector (it really depends on the condition of the oleophobic coating on the screen at the time of installation), but it can easily be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol. Best regards,
You can remove it just with your fingernails. It's about the same or slightly less difficult than the conventional silicone based adhesive found on flat tempered glass screen protectors. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further. Best regards,
In the video your fingerprint scanner seems to work quite fast, even with the tempered glass. I have a UV tempered glass, and while the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner does work, I have to press harder and it takes longer to read. Is this just something that looks better in the video or is it actually faster? If it is quicker, how would you recommend I do an installation that allows for faster unlock speeds? Thank you in advance!
Hello Edgar, Thank you for your comment. Did you apply gentle pressure on the fingerprint sensor area and cure it while holding the pressure during the installation as shown in the video? The glass by the fingerprint sensor does indeed need to be brought slightly closer by doing this in order for the sensor to read the fingerprint fast. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further. Best regards,
@@ecdiySorry for the dumb question but wouldn't pressing down on the fingerprint area while curing it cause the adhesive to push outward from the fingerprint scanner and make it worse?
@Edgar Molina Lomeli Hello Edgar, Not a problem at all! It is not a dumb question please do not feel bad. So why this works is that, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on these phones only read fast & accurately as far as 0.40mm away from the screen. When tempered glass screen protectors range from 0.25~0.33mm, there isn't a lot of room for the adhesive. To put it in perspective 0.1mm is about the thickness of standard printer paper. You can't push all of the adhesive outward so you are not applying high pressure. As mentioned in the video, it's about the same pressure as you'd push the bottom of your nose up to make a funny face. It's not a lot of pressure. When done properly, there should be a slight 'dimple' as shown @1:20 Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further. Best regards,
Hello. I sincerely apologize for having missed this message, but any excess glue that seeps past the screen protector area can be wiped away before curing. Even if you do accidentally cure the glue as is though, you can score it (so it doesn't tug on the glue under the protector) and peel it away. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further. Best regards,
Hi, i have use it for my samsung note 10 plus and succes but because previously the glue flowed out and got on every side and I immediately cleaned it and I put on the lamp after it was finished and stuck I had a problem,: 1. Front camera was blur maybe it got glue on it 2. I dont know why, the back cover of my phone is open from beside and comes off. Please give me solution. Thanks
I installed a glass on my note 10 and very next air comes around the display corner...why does it happened. Is there any way to install this glass by which no air comes back . And how long we have keep the UV light close to glass so that it works properly.
Hello, From our experience, this can be one of 2 things. 1. The edges of the cell phone case being used is too thick/wide or the screen protector is not aligned perfectly. The screen protector needs to be aligned precisely so the cell phone case does not end up pressing on the edge of the protector. 2. The glue was not cured completely. The glue needs to be cured completely by holding the UV light close to the device as shown in the video. If you have happened to purchase from us, simply send us a message as it is not a problem at all for us to send you a courtesy replacement. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further. Best regards,
I nearly got it perfect apart from 3 small bubbles in the center , i didnt see any bubbles in the liquid so thought i was safe . How can i take the screen off easily and the glue ?
This is indeed a bit odd. This isn't something we have experienced on our end. Did this by any chance happen with our product? If so, we are happy to send you another tube of glue free of charge. The only thing I can think of is maybe the protector was more or less dropped on there rather than lowered slowly as shown in the video and air got trapped? In any case, the protector can be removed easily with just your fingernail just like a standard tempered glass screen protector. In most cases, the glue remains stuck to the protector but if your screen has a lot of fine scratches, the glue may bond to the screen better vs the protector and remain on there after the glass is removed. If this happens, you can clean the residue with any glass cleaner. I've also tried it with general multi surface cleaner with good results too. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further!
I wish I could see this video before I apply my UV glass. One side was lifting if I try to put another side attach to the display. At the end, I had to remove the glue and wash the glass. Now I am waiting for the new UV glue arrive. On the flat surface, the glass turned out to be perfect. Not much movement noticeable. So how can I fix the one side lifting problem?
Was it lifting right after the installation? or after some use? The problem with these UV glues is that it's not as strong. If you use it with a flexible case, the case can get squeezed and push up on the protector, when say, the phone is placed in a pocket and it gets jostled around. This ultimately depends on the case and the condition of the glass (if it had scratches/how much oleophobic coating was left at the time of the glass installation; scratches actually help the protector stick better). If it was lifting right after the installation, it's likely a defective protector. You can use our LOCA which we use to replace the front glass to achieve a permanent bond. You can still easily remove the protector with just your fingernails without any tools, but it takes a bit more effort and it does leave a bit of residue that can be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further! Have a great rest of the day.
On Xiaomi Mi12 s Ultra the glue is entering the speaker and now it makes unclear noise when ringing and when watching and listening something. Any idea how it can be fixed?
Hello, If you happen to get glue in the speaker area, you can use isopropyl alcohol and toothbrush to gently dissolve the glue and clear the area. Preferably, you'd want to use 99% as it does not conduct electricity (technically speaking, it does but it is such a poor conductor that you can dunk the whole phone in it with the back panel removed and it will be ok.) If you are using 70%/60% alcohol, you should wait until it has completely evaporated before using the device as it is 30%/40% water. Hope that helps. Let us know how it goes and if you have any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further.
Hello, Unfortunately, with this glue you'd need the UV light to cure it. Did you happen to purchase the protector from us? Please let us know as it is not a problem at all for us to send you a replacement. However, it may be worth noting that most of the times when the light doesn't work, it is a simple contact issue. Cables that are well used can have trouble making the connection and just a slight wiggling & holding of the cable often fixes this. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further.
Hello Irfan, I apologize for the delay in my response but are you still experiencing this issue? If you have pressed down on the sensor area during the installation as shown in the video, all you'd need to do is re-register the fingerprint, this is because the fingerprint reads a bit differently through the additional piece of glass). If you did not press down on the sensor area during the installation, unfortunately the protector needs to be re-installed. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further. Best regards,
It is, but it's kind of pointless. The conventional silicone based adhesive where all you have to do is peel the film, line up the protector, and press in the center to see the adhesive bonding throughout, is available for all flat protectors. I personally don't see any advantage of UV glue over this. If I'm missing something, please let me know. You'd go the UV route for curved screens because the current technology does not allow the silicone based adhesive to be applied to curved glasses without forming bubbles when it is installed on the phone. Best regards,
While it's possible that the protector is defective, it is quite unlikely. These days all manufacturers that I'm aware of check for optical clarity with a laser scan on each glass. It's more probable that there is either a smudge on the phone's screen or on the protector. If it's on the phone, unfortunately the protector would have to be removed for it to be cleaned. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further. Have a great rest of the day.
Hello Emil, There are a couple of solutions I can offer but first, are you by any chance using a case with the phone? If so, see if you can press on the edge of your case to cause the protector to lift/glue to come off? On these phones with very thin bezel, what we find is that there is very little room for cell phone case to flex. Protector's edges ends up touching the edges of the case and when your phone is being pushed around in your pocket as you move, it can squeeze the case and lift the protector. We do not carry the UV protector for OnePlus 8 Pro but you can use our Stronghold LOCA glue to glue on the protector which is a lot stronger (but still removable) which would be strong enough to withstand the 'squeeze'. If you are not using a case and it lifted like this, the protector may be defective (warped, we show this in the video). You can put the glue you have leftover in the void and bond it if this is the case. Please note though, you are not supposed to have any glue left with the installation. You are supposed to use all of it which may be the reason you are experiencing the issue. Any questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further. Best regards,
@@ecdiy wow thankyou so much man its most probably the case thats causing the problem. Ive noticed the glass creating void when i press the buttons. Ill keep these in mind when i install a case next time..
Would you by any chance be able to provide a photo? (You can post them here or email us). If the bubble is completely trapped, then there is no remedy for this but if the bubble opens up to an edge, you can dispense glue there to fill it. If this is caused by a case lifting it and you have a bubble that runs along the edges you can use the glue we use for screen glass replacement to fill it. and that should hold it strong enough to prevent it from lifting again. (The protector can still be removed with just your fingernails but it may leave a bit of residue which can be cleaned with glass cleaner/isopropyl alcohol) Please do not hesitate to comment further if you have any more questions!
If you happen to get it in there, you can clean it easily with isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush. One way to avoid it is to put the 'dust absorber' sticker included in the screen protector prior to gluing. However, it sometimes fall off and it's not difficult to clean it as noted above. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further. Have a great rest of the day.
I'm assuming that the glass is cracked as the screen is made of glass and it's not something that can get dented without cracking; It really depends on the crack whether it would be covered by the glue or not but I would not recommend using the UV glue included in screen protectors if your screen is cracked as it can seep into the internals through the cracks which can cause damage. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further. Have a great rest of the day!
If any glue gets on the power button, you can clean it with isopropyl alcohol. Most phones these days have the power button sealed from the inside so there isn't really a concern with liquids getting in through the power button. Just in case though, you'd want to use either 99% isopropyl alcohol or wait until all the alcohol is completely evaporated before using the device if you are using 70%/60% isopropyl alcohol. 99% isopropyl alcohol does not conduct electricity to harm devices whereas 70%/60% may contain 30%/40% water respectively which can cause damage. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further. Have a great rest of the day!
Hello Usman, we are indeed seeing that this is a common issue with UV protectors out on the market today. When the edge is caught on something, or when a case flexes/stretches and pushes on it while the phone it is in the pocket and being pushed around, it can lift and over months it can get worse. We've been working on our own adhesive that is strong enough to keep position against cell phone cases while weak enough to make the removal easy. We have the first batch ready now. Would you like to give it a try? Please contact us/comment further if you would like to know more.
I am not sure what could be the cause of this at the moment as we have not experienced this issue over the years of selling this but if you have happened to purchase it from us and this has happened, please let us know and I will send you a replacement to try free of charge. I can confirm though that any excess that leaks out the side can be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol or any glass cleaner. If your concern is a void caused by the leakage, if it is really close to the edges (within 6mm or 1/4") you may be able to fill it using another tube of glue. Dispense a little bit at a time where the protector meets the phone and you can press on the edge repeatedly in a pumping motion to get the glue to be sucked into the void. Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further/contact us. Have a great rest of the day!

Thanks A LOT!

5j,
Lesson learned from this video: never buy a curved screen phone again.
@@ecdiy I ended up getting a glass protector that has adhesive only along the edges. Touch isn't as good as without it but not too bad.

2024 and this is still one of the best tutorials for ultrasound fingerprint, like S24
Got glue in my speaker port on note 10 plus how would u recommend cleaning

Thanks for great tutorial. I applied it to my phone perfectly. Fingerprint sensor works as same. Did you had any experience about that? One day it may broke and we really may need to remove it.
Hello Ozan,
Thank you for your comment! I am very sorry for having missed your comment. It is partly true. The glue does indeed get stronger/harder.
It does require a bit more force for it to come off but it is definitely not too hard, and you can still remove it with your fingernails.

Hello Aleksandar,
Thank you for taking your time to comment and thank you very much for your compliment!

Now for the good news:
We have developed a special seal tape to go around the camera lens and we've been experimenting with it yielding good results but it's not ready to be distributed yet as we're still trying to determine the best/easiest way for the customer to achieve consistency.
Best regards,
Do you have any glasses for the Asus Zenfone 8?

Hello, does pressing the fingerprint sensor while curing also applied to Spigen Glass tr Platinum? I see that Whitestone include a rubber for that purpose on their package, while spigen glass tr platinum doesn't. Meanwhile, other certain spigen type included a weight (similar to whitestone rubber) on their package.
Does that mean tr platinum doesn't need pressing on the fingerprint sensor? What if I apply your method, will it affect that spigen type's glue?
I'm glad I watched this video. I'm gonna try this soon.
Great video,But have a question,
My S10 plus has scratches ON the edge (right corner), and ON the right corner and a hairline down, from the right corner scratches. Do I need to glue that first (perhaps with LOCA UV?) ,
or is this a cure , also for the scratches
Hello,
Thank you for your kind words!
To answer your question, the glue included in the UV screen protectors can fill scratches, but please note that if the screen is cracked, I advise against using it. The glue is quite viscous and may seep below the crack.
Instead, we recommend using our LOCA adhesive when the screen is cracked.

I'm sorry to hear of your experience but I can confirm that the same method works for S21 series phones as well. As long as the glass is brought closer to the screen a little bit during the curing process, the sensor will be able to read the fingerprint without an issue.

Hello Tolga,
Thank you for your kind words!
Change it every 3 months. Believe me im talking with experience. Same Phone and a lot of trouble
Is that blur front camera??
Great question! No it does not. The adhesive is optically clear and it does not affect the camera quality.
From my experience, not having a cut-out for the camera is a superior design; Protectors with a cut-out for the camera area can often accumulate dust/debris/sweat/oil from skin in that area, making it difficult to clean. It also leaves a narrow section of glass around the top/side of the camera hole which is prone to cracking very easily.

The adhesive glue glue went in the s-pen slot how long will it take for me to get it out like whats the adhesive expiry ?
Would appreciate the help 🙏🏼
Unless you got a lot of it in there, I wouldn't worry as the slot the S-pen goes in to is a sealed metal compartment within the phone's frame. The connector for recognizing the S-pen in the slot is at the very deep end of the slot as well so I wouldn't personally worry. However, because the glue only cures with UV, you can always clean out the S-pen slot with isopropyl alcohol.
The adhesive is said to have a shelf life of 1 year but I have personally used glue that's much older without an issue.

I just wanted to ask about the port like clean it will a cotton buds, how would I clean the pen that would be covered with the adhesive ? I'm afraid that the dried up glue will get to the bottom, hopefully I get the pen out of the port fingers crossed
Also is there a way to get it out like try to pull on it over time or I have to wait it's been like 2 weeks
My glass on s22 ultra always comes out from sides no matter how may times i installed it. it will stay perfect for a day or 2 but 3rd day it comes out. Any Advice will be appriciated
Hello,
Are you by any chance using a flexible case? So something we found across all brands of this type of UV glue is that the glue is a bit weak. If you have a tight fitting case that's flexible like TPU or silicone, when the phone is jostled around in the pocket the case can actually press against the edge and cause it to lift.
Other than that, it could be a form defect where the glass isn't made to match the screen perfectly but these are pretty rare these days. (It was more of an issue when curved tempered glass screen protectors were new
You can use stronger glue like our LOCA glue to install protectors. It holds much better. It does require a bit more force to remove as a result, and it does leave a bit of residue but it can be removed by hand without special equipment and you can wipe the residue clean with isopropyl alcohol. Let me know if this is something you'd be interested in.

@@ecdiyIF you can suggest me any perticular brand that i can go for please let me know will check that.

Hey man great work, Btw can uv glue hide scratches from the actual screen?
Thank you for your kind words! Yes, UV glue hides scratches from the actual screen but it shouldn't be used on cracked screens as the glue would seep past the surface and leave an unsightly void. If the cracks are along the edges, the glue can seep into the internals and cause damage also.
i have a quesiton, does applying uv glue lessen the sensitivity of the screen? or its not reading the finger faster? or it improves the sensitivity? sorry my english is bad, i hope you understand and answer. pls thankyou
We're do U order the screen protectors from
Nope i order from China and they al work great. Even finger print sensor works perfect
Do these UV screen protectors come off clean after a year or two? or does the glue harden to a point that you have to scrape it off the screen? or should i just get a plastic membrane?
It comes off. Dries kinda rubbery

Hello, do all screen protectors work with UV glue, or are these special glasses?
When it comes to curved tempered glass screen protectors, the conventional silicone based adhesive where all you have to do is line up the protector and press in the center to have the adhesive bonding throughout is not applicable.
When it comes to curved tempered glass screen protectors, you would find that they either have adhesive along the edges only, or rely on liquid glue for full adhesion.
There are some protectors that uses a thicker silicone pad, but this comes at the cost of the glass being considerably thinner, making it more prone to damage.

would puting a small coin on the fingerprint sensor area work. when curing it with UV light?
I would recommend putting something larger to cover the area as the area that you're going to bring closer in order for the fingerprint sensor to work will pull the area around it closer to the display ever so slightly.
If the uncured area of the glue is too small, it may not work.

Most likely yes. The shelf life is stated to be 1 year but I've personally used glue that's over 4 years old as an experiment and have not found it to be different. Question. On the S10 and note 10 is it doable to repair the screen and still keep the on screen fingers print sensor?
@@ecdiy if I understand correctly, finger print sensor won't work after just glass replacement?

when trying to peel the thin film by pulling the sticker, the sticker just comes off without peeling.

Once glued how in future to change the protector in case of tempered glass getting damaged
Small bubble appeared in the edge of glass after one or two days after curing. What should I do then??

Thank you for taking your time to comment!

Hi, may I know how to solve if the glue doesn't stick well?
after installing Tempered glass through UV glue my biometric finger print sensons takes time to detect and most of the time it fails, I havent covered the sensor during the UV Light.
Wow.. thanks for reply.. appreciate your time in spending to answer each comment

You can indeed use it on an iPhone 11 and it will hide minor scratches. However, even a conventional silicone adhesive based tempered glass screen protector (the one where you align the protector and press in the center to see the adhesive bonding throughout) should hide minor scratches.

Tpu screen protector is amazing no glue and very clear and comes with glass camera protector
Hello Darren,
Thank you for your comment.
If you have any further insight into this matter, please do not hesitate to share.

does this uv glue only applicable on curved screen phones?
You can apply this on flat screen phones also. However, in my personal opinion there is no need to because for flat screens, the silicone based conventional tempered glass screen protector adhesive (the one where all you have to do is align the protector and press in the center to initiate the adhesive bonding throughout) works well.

Will it still work if i didnt have the uv light?
Unfortunately no, this glue requires UV light unlike the glue we use for the glass only screen replacements.
what if i want to change the protector, is this easy to unmount?
Yes, it peels off the same way. Sometimes a little bit of residue is left on the screen instead of coming up with the protector (it really depends on the condition of the oleophobic coating on the screen at the time of installation), but it can easily be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol.
Best regards,
What about removing it ? If it doesn't get well or you have to change it ?
You can remove it just with your fingernails. It's about the same or slightly less difficult than the conventional silicone based adhesive found on flat tempered glass screen protectors.

Hello Edgar,
Thank you for your comment.
@Edgar Molina Lomeli Hello Edgar,
Not a problem at all!
When done properly, there should be a slight 'dimple' as shown @1:20

Hello. I sincerely apologize for having missed this message, but any excess glue that seeps past the screen protector area can be wiped away before curing. Even if you do accidentally cure the glue as is though, you can score it (so it doesn't tug on the glue under the protector) and peel it away.

I installed a glass on my note 10 and very next air comes around the display corner...why does it happened. Is there any way to install this glass by which no air comes back . And how long we have keep the UV light close to glass so that it works properly.
Hello,
From our experience, this can be one of 2 things.

Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further!
i wanna buy uv tempered glass, how much is it sir?
What happened? This channel seemed very good
I wish I could see this video before I apply my UV glass.

On Xiaomi Mi12 s Ultra the glue is entering the speaker and now it makes unclear noise when ringing and when watching and listening something. Any idea how it can be fixed?
Hello,
If you happen to get glue in the speaker area, you can use isopropyl alcohol and toothbrush to gently dissolve the glue and clear the area.
Preferably, you'd want to use 99% as it does not conduct electricity (technically speaking, it does but it is such a poor conductor that you can dunk the whole phone in it with the back panel removed and it will be ok.)
If you are using 70%/60% alcohol, you should wait until it has completely evaporated before using the device as it is 30%/40% water.
Hope that helps. Let us know how it goes and if you have any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further.

Hello,
Unfortunately, with this glue you'd need the UV light to cure it.

Works great, Thanks!
After installing . My fingerprint sensor in not working. What should i do next ?
Hello Irfan,
I apologize for the delay in my response but are you still experiencing this issue? If you have pressed down on the sensor area during the installation as shown in the video, all you'd need to do is re-register the fingerprint, this is because the fingerprint reads a bit differently through the additional piece of glass).
If you did not press down on the sensor area during the installation, unfortunately the protector needs to be re-installed.
Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further.
Best regards,
Is uv tempered glass available for normal display (not curved display) ?
Please reply me 🥺🥺
It is, but it's kind of pointless.

Have a great rest of the day.

My oneplus 8 pro started to lift off from the sides i have some glue left but is there anything i can do to fix this now
Hello Emil,
There are a couple of solutions I can offer but first, are you by any chance using a case with the phone?

Best regards,
@@ecdiy wow thankyou so much man its most probably the case thats causing the problem. Ive noticed the glass creating void when i press the buttons. Ill keep these in mind when i install a case next time..
I just put on my screenprotector, but it has a few bubbles on the side. How to get rid of these?
Would you by any chance be able to provide a photo? (You can post them here or email us).
If the bubble is completely trapped, then there is no remedy for this but if the bubble opens up to an edge, you can dispense glue there to fill it.
If this is caused by a case lifting it and you have a bubble that runs along the edges you can use the glue we use for screen glass replacement to fill it. and that should hold it strong enough to prevent it from lifting again. (The protector can still be removed with just your fingernails but it may leave a bit of residue which can be cleaned with glass cleaner/isopropyl alcohol)

My glue went inside the ear peice, how to avoid that bcz i can tqpe the mic and speaker bjt not earpiece
If you happen to get it in there, you can clean it easily with isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush.
One way to avoid it is to put the 'dust absorber' sticker included in the screen protector prior to gluing. However, it sometimes fall off and it's not difficult to clean it as noted above.

I have a dent in my screen, does the glue cover it up?
I'm assuming that the glass is cracked as the screen is made of glass and it's not something that can get dented without cracking;
It really depends on the crack whether it would be covered by the glue or not but I would not recommend using the UV glue included in screen protectors if your screen is cracked as it can seep into the internals through the cracks which can cause damage.

Does it hide scratches ?
Yup
How do u clean the uv glue form power button
If any glue gets on the power button, you can clean it with isopropyl alcohol.
Most phones these days have the power button sealed from the inside so there isn't really a concern with liquids getting in through the power button.
Just in case though, you'd want to use either 99% isopropyl alcohol or wait until all the alcohol is completely evaporated before using the device if you are using 70%/60% isopropyl alcohol. 99% isopropyl alcohol does not conduct electricity to harm devices whereas 70%/60% may contain 30%/40% water respectively which can cause damage.

But some times pooch start lifting up the protector so is their any solution
Hello Usman, we are indeed seeing that this is a common issue with UV protectors out on the market today. When the edge is caught on something, or when a case flexes/stretches and pushes on it while the phone it is in the pocket and being pushed around, it can lift and over months it can get worse.
We've been working on our own adhesive that is strong enough to keep position against cell phone cases while weak enough to make the removal easy. We have the first batch ready now. Would you like to give it a try? Please contact us/comment further if you would like to know more.
Hi some glue is not dried and leaking on edges how to solve?
