    A fantastic continuation to our “WOMAN HITS IT 280” video! Once we have the loaded backswing, we need to ignite the dynamite to get the explosion in the swing to deliver that compressive speed through the shot.

    You are a great inspiration to me at age 64 to keep playing and improve despite the counter effects of aging. I currently have driver speed of 105 average and can tweak it to 112 with some inconsistency of direction and solid hit. Lol..... was wondering 1) what device are you using for launch monitor ? 2) what shoes are you using on that artificial turf ? ( I would think some lug pattern is what is needed for best torque transfer ) Really appreciate the family and friends you engage in your instruction. It allows me to see the cause / effect better.

      Thank you for such a nice post Bethel! We use the True Shoes which you can either go through our website at www.wisdomingolf.com and check out the pro-shop page or go to www.truelinkswear.com and tell them we sent you! And the best launch monitors in the business by far are the ones from FORESIGHT SPORTS; which we have the GC Quad. They can get you some nice GC 2 for a fraction of the cost too.

    Mickey Wright recommended wedging a golf ball under the outside of the trail foot to avoid sway and promote weight shift to the lead foot. Often an old ball that was cut in half by a lawnmower is more comfortable for this drill.
    Incidentally, Mu is awesome with the medicine ball drill!

  • @mslu62

    I noticed Savannas grip is very strong. The V's formed by her hands point to her left shoulder as opposed to her left ear. The logic behind this strong grip makes perfect sense. I understand many things such as ball position, swing path , club face angle and rotation has an effect on ball flight.
    Savy is left handed so if she started missing shots to the right or hooking the ball would you consider moving that grip a little less strong ? Maybe with the V's pointing to her left ear as opposed to her left shoulder.

    Shawn I noticed that when Savvy starts her takeaway she raises her hands about 1 inch or so. I'm wondering if this results in more of a one plane swing because of that. Impact also is inline with her left arm being straighter with the club shaft. Is this a hybrid one plane swing?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  3 года назад +1

      Not a fan of calling any swing a one or 2 planer... It is whatever the anatomy of the player has and how they use it as efficiently as possible to perform a specific task; her’s is to throw the club through her “arc-blur” and into the direction she wants to start the ball. Her strong grip with left hand more under GIVES THE APPEARANCE of single plane but it is not. And neither was Moe either BTW...

    Like the tee drill but wouldn’t it be the same if I just looked at a spot two or three inches in front of the ball?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  4 года назад +4

      The key with the tee drill is to be able to sweep-whip both items in the direction we want the ball to start; it is the image of the task that resonates first; then you can use imaginary tees once you have done it a few times.

      watch her hands at 6:52 . Can you imagine a stronger grip? I guess most of you wouldn´t agree, but more important than weak or strong grip is how firm you grip and how connect the hands are with the club and the hands (left/right). She has a very good grip in terms of connectivity.

    I have heard several instructors say that you shouldn’t stand up during the backswing like you are doing.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  4 года назад +7

      Yes, and 30 years ago, they were saying to resist with the lower body to coil against the upper body!! After hundreds of career ending injuries on all the world tours, now they are saying it’s ok to let the hips turn in the backswing...like Jack Nicklaus, Sam Snead, Bobby Jones, Tom Watson, Bubba Watson and Matt Wolff. Now the new trend is let the body come up in the backswing...WE HAVE BEEN TEACHING THIS WITHOUT INTERRUPTIONS FOR 25 YEARS. Why? BECAUSE HUMAN ANATOMY IS PREDISPOSED TO PERFORM THIS WAY. There still isn’t ANY anatomical material in the PGA manual for golf instruction. My training in anatomy started with a bang at age 17 in the Canadian Ski Patrol and has not stopped since and I stay at the forefront of human movement patterns and constantly compare to my notes for strain on the body.

      Shawn Clement - if that is the correct way then how come your daughter isn’t doing it?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  4 года назад +3

      @@ultimatejay what is important to note is that SHE IS NOT TRYING TO STAY DOWN OR TRY TO KEEP THE SAME FLEX IN HER LEGS OR RESTRICT HER SWING IN ANY WAY. She is free to evolve with her task the way she was meant to. There is no “be careful” or “watch out” or “make sure in her swing.
