    Absolutely fantastic !
    It's almost as if I could read Savys mind when she couldn't describe the mistruck shots. Shawn nailed it when he said get the ground first from the top. This let's the club shallow and is a critical part of the kinetic chain. I can remember an old video posted by Shawn years ago describing a kid on a swing set and adding that " UMPHF " at the bottom. So many of us try to add the umphf at the top which prevents the right arm from going external thus steeping the shaft. Great comparison to the pro at the beginning of this video. Notice how open his hips and shoulders are at impact. Sorry for eluding to positions it's just another way for some of us to learn Shawn.

    Brilliant video again, but notice that just before takeaway Sav raises hers hands so her arms are almost parallel to the shaft, as opposed to hanging down?? Is that a conscious choice? It contradicts your wisdom so I guess it's a similar tensing up to what I suffer too, causing an unwanted fade. I find it so hard to keep the hands hanging down / relaxed

      @paddy brown better yet, have a look here at the man who's been called, "the greatest ball striker of all" ruclips.net/video/H22KxAkIanY/видео.html Moe Norman's skills as a ball striker are legendary.
      Sam Snead described Norman as the greatest striker of the ball.
      In January 2005, Tiger Woods, the biggest golf star of the modern era, told Golf Digest's Jaime Diaz that only two golfers in history have "owned their swings": Moe Norman and Ben Hogan.
      I'll add in here, Note how every shot Moe takes, his arms ARE always in line with the shaft! As Shawn says in many of his videos, "you want to make the club/shaft an extension of your arms bones, your hands are like the muscles in your arms, connecting you to the club!" That's our only connection to the club and if one sets up in the same exact way, your contact point is at, it's almost impossible to go wrong! IMHO any angles created at address, off parallel to the shaft/club relationship is causing one to have to manipulate the club to get back to the contact/striking point...it's also making the total radius of your arms length with club shorter if the arms are bent vs. straight! Therefore the straighter the arms are at address, the longer your lever just got, vs, arms bent = shortening your levers.....have a look at Moe here and listen to the sounds the ball makes off the faces of his shots!
      Purest I've ever heard and I'm fairly certain Shawn will agree.....excuse me if I've confused you as to write out what I'm getting at is hard to do via text!

    Sav rotates the face shut as the first discernible move in her take away.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  2 года назад

      The grip-club relationship is unchanged from address and throughout the swing; what you see there is a raising of the hands and she stands up a bit going back and that shuts the face momentarily. Watch how Bryson stands up in the backswing now the same way as Kenny Perry did when he played the tour!

My 5 year old granddaughter hits it better. Effort spilt over to all the other clubs. Frustrated +++. Shawn you know i'm a 22 handicap. 2 days later..tough mountain course at Riverside (scary views). Irons and 3 woods off the tee. Low effort. Club choices from the tee back to reduce stress to produce distance and discourage ball focussed hit....guess what? Felt like the throws were going "out there'. As Savvy said it is hard to describe but just felt right. BROKE 90!!!. No lost balls. Shot 87. Very few blackouts and when I did damage control was good. At 1.44 you advise Savannah to get a feeling of throwing the club ''above the clouds''. That to me feels different from your older ''throwing the club'' videoclips in which you were showing a sort of underhand throw, keeping the club flying low above the ground. . Why this difference ? I am still struggling with my swing in spite of trying your underhand throw drills. Thanks in advance. Btw any plans for near future European teaching sessions ?

    Hello, I just came across one of your older power videos the other day and watched it. Question: With the picture of that pro golfer (can't remember his name), I'm wondering how much of the power is being supplied by his right arm either consciously or subconsciously pushing or throwing the club through. I know that a lot of power comes from the rotation of the body but I'm right hander that golfs left handed and I just cannot generate the power that I'm wanting no matter how fast I rotate my body. Thanks for your videos...enjoy watching them!

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  4 года назад +1

      Ok, so see “lower body in the backswing shawn clement” for the understanding of this first; then base it on your task; an example of a task is cutting grass like a grass whip: see “grass whip training shawn clement”
      So when you cut through the stem of the dandelion, growing out from the centre of the ball, if you overturn the shoulders, you pull the centre of the swing out of place and you no longer can perform the task. Have a purpose to the backswing and you will turn the right amount and keep yourself in the shots!

      Working on that too - I find that making a concious effort to move the lower body towards the target (even over exaggerating a bit to get the feel) to initiate the downswing and then opening the hips - BEFORE even thinking about throwing the club - works well. When the arms go too early, the throw is early and thus the wrists are fully released at the ball and not out in front of the ball as needed. So imagine - weight is very forward, hips open so you feel like you are actually facing the target - THEN throw the club.

    It'd be nice if you had participants on the channel that had swings that resemble the other 99% of golfers :)
    Her grip is super strong and stance is super closed.. Nobody swings like that. You cant argue her results but its not typical at all...
    Regardless, your instruction is great and I do love your videos, but between your swing and her's, it'd be nice to have someone more "typical" on for reference once and awhile

      Thank you for the wonderful suggestion Scott! I have quite a few actually; and also, if you go to our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com and see the list of videos by date, you will see several series with a bunch of different students with a wide range of issues and the results speak for themselves! Only $9.95 per month too, cancel anytime!

    Did anyone ever hear about an owl or some other animal picking golfballs in the garden at night?
    Its the second time i lose almost all my golfballs. I didnt have time to pick them up yesterday.
    Only the ones in the net arent gone..
    I'm being punished for hitting next to my little pitching net.
    Somewhere there must be a bird with about a 100 golfballs in his nest right now..

      At our course, it’s the fox that does it! They grab golf balls off the 6th fairway all the time; they are the talk of the club!

    I do so much better when I jump up there set and swing fast. When I sit too long at address my brain messes me up. I. Tryna make it a reflex action subconscious. Im so erratic ive shot 69 77 78 79 83 89 95 99 105. In different orders. I have 10 different swings and puttn strokes. I cant ever stop experimenting. Its pathological. I need pick one and just sharpen it. Dangit this game. How can someone shoot 69 at a home cpurse then go to a course theve never played and shoot 105. Thats way too big a discrepancy. Something is wrong with me

    Shawn I just found out that I am losing yards because I am not releasing my hands? How do I fix that?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  4 года назад

      There is no fixing; just acquiring by letting! See “fencing for power shawn clement” and on our premium channel it’s “lead hand release” “trail hand release” and “release fine tuning” videos. You will also see this same release in these youtube videos: “dominant lead hand shawn clement” and “throwing the club shawn clement”. Enjoy!

      @@golflessons do I grip down on my club at address or on the down swing? I have a very tight grip at address and so as my back swing. Does this have anything to do with me losing yardage? I wish I can have a session with you. I got so many questions.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  4 года назад

      @@ca44gmail a nice secure grip is essential; and should not prevent you from getting that release; never think of the grip during the swing; just feel that the grip will do the job when you throw the club in the direction you want to start the ball (without letting go of course). When doing the practice throw without letting go, you should feel a nice full snap of the trail hand over the lead hand past the intermediate point.
