Haha thank you! I'm challenging myself to do more content going forward aiming for 1 video every week if I can prioritize it enough. I'm not thrilled with my video quality to this point and the only way to truly improve is to continue to crank out videos and get more comfortable with it
A solid DIY option! For anyone with more ceiling height looking for a more polished attachment, you can get one from Porter PEF for a couple hundred dollars.
my solution is an incline bench. I lean my chest on like doing the chest supported row. then pull the pulley. benefit is that it prevents your body from leaning backward when doing lat pulldown. I feel the most contraction of my lat.
Very clever solution! I have two of these towers as well and I DIY’d a pulldown setup with a titan crossmember that just barely fits with my ceiling clearance. I had to buy special thin nuts and a thin wrench just to bolt it in place, lol. It gets the pulley about 4-5” higher than this and I sit on a 12” box so the ROM is more than enough for me at 5’11”, even with some long attachments. However, this is way, way easier and much cheaper as well. I might actually do this on the other tower just to have the option.
It does look good, and makes us wonder why BoS didn't put a pulley there. However, it feels like the direction of the force on the bolt could make it break over time. It's not the biggest bolt and it was probably not meant to support that much shear force. Thanks for sharing!
I suppose we'll see! The upright is thick enough that I definitely feel like the weight is distributed well and won't negatively affect the bolt. But luckily there would be ways to reinforce it if needed down the road.
Hey Matt! Appreciate your suggestion! I want to ask if you have figure out any way to add more weights to the weight stack? I have the same cable tower and because of the way the stacks are situated facing forward instead to the sides, I can't use the Gym Pin to add more weights. I'd like to do lat pulldown and low row with higher weights but can't think of a workaround
Do you prefer to have your lat pulldown straight above your head instead of in front? Did you consider attaching a bracket to your cieling joist to move the pulley several inches forward, so it would be over your head?
To get lower, you can also sit on a step stoll - they can be small, foldable and pretty cheap too - mine is adjustable from about 6 or 7 inches high to about 9 or 10 inches high - so it is lower than your typical workout bench.
For sure. I was previously using a setup that was probably about 6 inches off the ground, but my issue was that my legs were so damn uncomfortable. I could get in and out and hold my legs down, but I feel a huge difference between my legs needing to be extended and having them sit at 90 degrees. Much more stability with my legs at 90 degrees IMO which is why I wanted to be able to sit up on a bench
Great video! Can you make one with all the excecises you can do with the lever arms and cable tower combined? Maybe another video with the cable tower and the seal row attachment?
I have run into the same problem and like you, went with the Vendetta adapters for my jammer arms. It looks like you added some fancy plastic shims on the inside of your leg attachment hack. Would you mind sharing where you got those?
I'm looking at getting the BOS cable tower. I have a cheap lat pull down that goes to my rack. It's not the smoothest or the most accurate. I have to keep lubing the post it slides up and down. Is this cable tower a smoother pull than the cheap lat pull downs. Mine is the Fitness Reality lat pull down attached to the Fitness Reality rack. I got it cheap but I want to know if I'm forking out that much money for BOS is it closer to the smoothness of a gym or closer to the cheap stuff?
For the red pulley you bought..it came with a eye bolt attached. Did you remove that? Or did that fit in the hole that housed that bolt? The actual how is missing in this video lol. Another great video though
No idea what Matt did, but the easiest way to mount a pulley and bracket like that *well* is to remove the pulley from the bracket, use a socket to remove the eye bolt nut, run a hex bolt through the hole where the eyebolt was, and then through your upright. You may need to widen the hole if the hole in the bracket is smaller than your hex bolt - super easy with a drill. Tighten a nut onto the hex bolt - probably use a spring washer. Bolt the pulley back into the bracket. Rock and roll.
Honestly the leg holder has been working out great and I havent had any issues. But I agree, I have no idea why those types of attachments arent more common
@@MattRosenmanit turns out Bells is coming out with commercial versions of the community DIY attachments! That includes a high pull extension and leg holder.
Less often, but sometimes. Snack review videos are fun, but I've found that a lot of times my reviews change over time with formula changes and new flavors. So I pivoted and I have a website dedicated to my snack reviews where I can keep them updated at all times: proteinsnackfinder.com/
Bells of steel now includes that T- adaptor now with the cable tower. Great hack. I am going to use this. Thank you
Happy to help
Do I have a home gym? No. Did I watch the whole video? Yes 😂 love seeing more RUclips content! Hope to see more!

Thanks man

That’s a great idea, thanks
Matt just did this to my BOS cable tower. It’s a game changer. Went with the 55” cable with a ball stopper. Works perfect. Thanks for the diy project.

please post more of your workouts whenever you have time. Love your hacks!

I'm definitely going to build that leg holder. I have the same lever arm pieces sitting around. Thank you for the tip.

great job & well executed idea
Appreciate it!
Well done!

You got it. I've got a list of videos I want to make and the hope is to start making one per week, so I'll try to touch on everything

What's the height of your makeshift pulley from the floor? I would love to try this. Thanks!
brilliant hack

Thats a great idea. The leg holder option is less than ideal, though. BoS should come out with a first party option

Fking brilliant!
Revers that jazz and mount the pulley to the floor and boom you got belt squats. I mean maybe it would work right?
thanks you saved me a lot of money. A company makes a lat pulldown attachment that cost a lot more than 50 for this tower.
clutch
Are you going to do more videos where you try different protein snacks?
