WRX is the only AWD "Sports" Sedan left on the market that offers 6MT. The supply is plenty so most likely you'll get one at a discount. The value in base model is just insane. If stock performance is not enough just get an intake and a tune, and you're at 300+hp, even more insane value!

Depends on what you want. This is one automotive segment where the cars are really, really different. All small Utes are really the same (apart from reliability, etc.) RAV, CR-V, Sorento, etc. All small sports sedans are the same (A4, 330i, etc.).
Here we have a AWD sedan, a FWD sedan and a FWD hatchback.
I've owned six Audi/VWs and loved them all. That said, I didn't go that way this time as they were reliable, but when something did go (water pump, timing belt maintenance, etc.) PARTS are EXPENSIVE. Audi-VW turbos are super easy to tune and bulletproof. The GTI is a great car, but no AWD, which I need in winter here in NW PA.
I owned nothing but Honda/Acura products in the 90s. Ultra-reliable. First true all-engine high power cars. Now they've gone the turbo route, which I don't think they have the expertise like Subaru or VW/Audi. The Civic chassis and shifter are awesome, but a 1.5L engine doesn't have much headroom for tuning. Again, no AWD, and like the GTI, kind of boring looking.
The WRX is inexpensive ($30k), reliable (CR loves the car), plenty out there at a DISCOUNT (I got mine for $2k off sticker + STi shifter), AWD and with the 2.4 (not 1.5, 2.0, but 2.FOUR) engine, the headroom for tuning is huge. You can leave stock, or increment your power over 100 hp to whatever you want to risk.
I've owned 26 cars in my lifetime that were mine personally (not counting cars for my wife or kids). My '23 WRX is my all-time favorite. I laugh almost every time I drive it. Keeps me young.

I’d give a very narrow win to the Elantra N, call it 51/49 lead. I’ve tested both for over a day at a time.. Elantra more focused performance car stock for stock. The wrx is the better base if you want to mod and Japanese built. But stock for stock the wrx with its 6100rpm rev cut is not appropriate for a performance car.. to me it seemed like Subaru didn’t want to let the rally heritage go yet didn’t want to develop a ICE performance car so basically put the accent engine in an Impreza and that’s it. WRX is a nice base, awd, turbo, practical size and manual but isn’t hard edged like Elantra N. But for daily duties and not driving at 10/10th the wrx is also a great option

The WRX and STI have never been the best, but they are the standard bearer and have been pretty much since their introduction. With each generation there was a car better, the EVO beat them, the Focus RS beat them, Golf R, the Corolla GR beats them.
But those cars are always in limited numbers with mark up. And almost guaranteed to not last production for more than 5 years.
WRX/STI you get 90% there with less cost, no mark up, and availability. Given the STI is not offered at this moment, but they basically have trims of WRX that are equal, they just don’t want to call it an STI until they figure out the hybrid thing.

    • @DragonKnightX12
      @DragonKnightX12 2 месяца назад

Kind of a odd statement considering the Golf R has been in production since 03, and now has out lasted the STI.
The GRs aren't going anywhere anytime soon either. They just got a refresh, a new auto, and Toyota has been steadily ramping up production.
More 50% if we're being honest. The VA STI was not at all close to what the Focus RS or the MK 7/7.5 Golf R was doing. The VB has a better engine and but the GR is the full package, and MK8 Golf R is out there giving V8s a run for their money stock.
Availability and discounts are pretty much the most of the reason to go Subie.

    ruclips.net/video/Tyh6EiOIbNE/видео.html

@@rawevoli true once you start adding mods. I wanted this one to just focus on what you get from factory. They are all great cars, tbh.

True but you can get a base GT mustang for $37k after discounts. Run 11’s stock and slap blower on it run 8’s so you never gonna a chance. V8’s can’t be beat price for speed if that’s your jam. Mine ran 9’s under $50k nothing touched me unless it was boosted V8 or $200k built GTR

@FATmenDRIVEtrucks yup can't beat a v8 for the power/cost. Unfortunately I live in the mountains and need AWD. That's why I picked up a g42 m240i xdrive. My buddy is in the 9s already with just a few bolt ons and an upgraded stock turbo.

@@rawevoli those M240xi are very impressive awd B58 FTW. I had my mustang years ago today if I was aiming for 9’s again probably go that route too. Better interior, handling, and more sleeper. Everyone knows a mustang can be fast

Going by price it definitely does. There arent a whole lot of cars that provide with these cars provide under 35k. Its definitely something that a shopper will cross when looking at a turbo sedan.

GTI : FWD and German where reliability becomes an issue. Si : FWD and way less power and torque for what you're getting. Elantra N : FWD and they are not known for their reliability. Same with any of the Korean manufacturers not to mention the car is genuinely ugly as hell and looks like a cat fish all while have a practically non existent after market support at least in comparison to the WRX. Also keep in mind the listing may say MSRP but when you go to the actual dealer theyre gonna hit you with the markup on those Type Rs, GR Corollas, etc.
