Thank you for the informative video! I’m relatively new to the moped world and just became the proud owner of a ‘77 50L. I’ve read the manual dozens of times, but I feel exponentially more confident after watching the start-up process in action :)
IAlso a relatively new mobylette owner, I've been peering through the parts catalogue every night for weeks to try to get a feel for what I'm looking at
I have 2 of these babies! I love em they are so cool! Also after long usage and they stop running make sure to clean that exhaust pipe and clean those points!
Trivia: The Decompression Valve can work as a "Brake". Only on a emergency case when you lose all breakes. The Decompression Valve can slow down the speed a little bit.
Gonna be getting a '76 this weekend for 800 bucks. It's my first moped and I'm excited for it. A moped that I can ride that doesn't look girly(so many of them nowadays just seem too girly, lol). Sure, it's almost as old as my dad but it's a good moped that still runs after 45 years so I think it's good quality. Update: unfortunately, the '76 didn't work out. But I'm having an '80 delivered tomorrow. Same cost, too.
Now that's how you do it. A good running ped, should always start with a half a kick. You should have mentioned that the rear wheel must not drag on the ground, during this procedure.
Thanks, and yes that is a good observation as sometimes the kick stand is bent and the rear wheel will catch on the floor in which case push starting is needed
Im about to purchase one, a 1976 and it looks like its in great condition. Do you have any information on how much these should run for and a place to look at prices and what i should look for to see if i am getting a great deal?? Any info would be awesome. Thanks.
Sorry for the late reply but depending on the model, year, and condition they can go for 600-1200 on average. But up to 2000 fully restored. You can come into our shop at Orange County Scooters if you're in southern california as well as Myrons Mopeds.
@@hhrosalesI'm from Brazil I have a Caloi Mobylette XR-50 that i bought for 400$BRL [88 $USD] It's a very different model but is licensed from Motobecáne. [Different frame and fairings, But almost same engine.]

Let me guess you're the yellow power ranger 😂
is this a moby 50v?
C'est un 50V - Les 50 V ont des suspensions à l'arrière et pas les 40V
Let me know if you're intrested In selling this moped thank you......
