That is non-acid type of primer. Such primers are pretty common among russian nail techs.
That thicker texture and shine creates a sticky layer. It increases adhesive between natural nail and gel nail. It is also works less aggressive, than what you called alcohol base primer.
The beetles light has a timer so once it’s on it will turn off automatically once it’s done curing. I love this set!

@apolishedtouchnailstudio I've been using beetles for months now and I love them the gel polishes with builder gel have changed my nails forever!!! I can grow them long like really long!! So long I do not get tips anymore and do the strickly at home and they look better than the salon!! The clears don't yellow and it doent chip I use gel remover to changer and I can EASILY go 1 month !
Hey Evie! Just a lil tip, if you want to find out if your tips are gel or plastic, just soak them in acetone. If they turn white, they are plastic. If they turn into a clear gelly consistency, they are made of gel. Love the video! You always put me on! ❤️💅🏾

You can also bend them down the center and they will create a white line. If when u bend it back in place the white line disappears, it’s gel. If not, it’s plastic.

So y’all, I got this set, but I also bought a bottle of builder gel on Amazon as well as a set of dehydrator and primer, and attached these tips with the builder gel using the mini-lamp. I guess I wanted to be sure the nails were attached with gel because the bottle provided says it’s glue. I may not have needed to do all that but my nails have been on for 3 weeks and they’re strong!
By the way, my mini-lamp turns off after 60 seconds 🤷🏼♀️

You didn’t really need to get the builder gel, although the Beatles bottle says glue it’s UV basecoat and does the same thing as a builder gel you bought.

@@ndawi-9947 I doubt its their basecoat. I have that and its a very thin consistency. It is probably just their gel top coat, That stuff is thick and super clear. although Beetles top coat gel is not sticky.
I use this one all the time! I love it and it’s cheap. Mine stay on for 4 weeks and that’s with me doing my everyday job of lifting heavy stuff. I didn’t even want a Kiara Sky kit after I got this.
Yes use primer and I filed the inside of the nail. Cure it for one min. I do them the way I would my other kits
@@keahburton8740 I’m a newbie at this. What specific primer did you use? I’m still learning about the different types of artificial nails! I see a bunch of different primers on Amazon and it’s hard to tell what kind of primer works best for these types of nails. Also, do you just lightly buff your real nail with 100 grit? I think accidentally buffed my nail too much with a buffer and now it is sensitive if I press down on it kinda hurts! Like I said, I’m a newb!

Fun fact: Apres nails are not actually made of the soft gel that we know and love in the salon. It is Symantecs. They are 100% plastic just like every other full coverage tip on the market. But they call the plastic “soft gel” because, what really IS “soft gel”? A moldable product that is hardened when cured and can be removed by soaking in acetone. All of those qualities apply to the million other plastic tips out there. This is 100% true and an irrefutable fact, they are not made of the soft gel polish or builder gel that we were led to believe they were made of. The nail company Young Nails had them tested by a chemist and it has been proven that they are plastic. Plastic in its melted form can also be referred to as a “soft gel”. So save your money, they are absolutely exactly the same as the $5 tips you can buy anywhere else, and actually are even more of a hassle because you have to etch the inside so that the builder gel or nail gel can grip to them, unlike the other brands that come already etched on the underside at the cuticle. Apres nails are a scam IMO

@@drippykickzz88 You may be able to, but it'll be more time consuming. Trying to work and curing one finger at time vs cond size lamp that allows the full hand to cure .

I bought this kit a couple months ago and they updated the little lamp to only turn on when you touch it, I love it, the first set I did with them lasted 5 weeks and could have lasted longer if I didn't want to take them off, not a single one broke or started peeling either

I’d love to hear about ur nail prep and any tips you use to keep them on that long without any lifting. Mine stay on usually 3 to 4 weeks but there’s always some lifting within that timeframe. 😢
@@nicolemazza1971 I have this same kit and they popped off almost instantly. So then I skipped the base gel and used clear poly gel and they popped off of the poly gel in the same day. I don’t want to give up but I’m struggling here.
@@92spice18 Are you prepping your natural AND the artificial nail properly? You have to use your drill and scuff the inside of the artificial nail very well. I scuff the entire area that will cover my natural nail. It gives the gel something to hold on to. My nails almost always stay on for weeks. Hope this helps!❤️

I've been scouring amazon reviews on Soooooo many polishes, kits, polys, gels, builders etc etc. Have yet to make up my mind until now.
SO! I'm ready to get my beetles kit bc it does seem to be the most popular one, but can you tell me how you are able to take yours off when you're ready to let your nails breath or just start a new set? I use floss for my acrylics and nail drill then a soak for a simple gel mani.

I did etch the inside, and apply primer & base coat before applying the nails with the nail glue & OMG !!! I kept my nails on for 6 weeks and I still had to soak them off..

I think the lamp turns off automatically after about 90 seconds. At least that's what my other beetles lamp does, so it would make sense that one would be the same. I have a few different beetles products and I love them!💜💙💜💙

I love, love, love this video❣️ I had been having acrylics put on for close to 35 years and just recently decided I just couldn’t sit through it any more. Plus the cost. 😳 While I completely understand this is an art and the salon I just quit offered top notch services, I just couldn’t justify the expense anymore. Soooooo I love this kit. I wanted to wait a while before I commented on this video to give it a try . I did purchase after I watched your review but this kit is amazing. I've done about 3 sets with this kit so far and I've got nothing but compliments on my nails. The nail lamp is automatic timer and that is the only con I would give to this I just wish the nail lamp was bigger but I purchase another Beetles nail lamp and it works just as well .This kit is truly amazing.

That lamp my have a multi function switch. Some electronic devices have presets for time of exposure by number of clicks. For example, 2 fast clicks is 5 seconds, 3 clicks is 10 seconds, etc. To turn off, press & hold for 3 seconds.

I just bought this kit a couple weeks ago, and I love it! They have updated their light so that it comes on when you put your finger in, and it shuts off when it’s done curing or when remove your finger. The glue cures very quickly, and it WORKS! These nails aren’t going anywhere! For $20, this kit is worth every cent. You literally do just as you showed; put the glue on the inside of the nail, apply it to your nail and hold in place under the light, and you’re done! Well, except for polishing….. But if you want nails that are nice looking, inexpensive, long lasting and super easy to do, this is the kit you need. Beginners would be able to do this EASILY!

You can really do this with any decent full cover tips. I do reccomend etching the abs plastic nails, but any that I've tried stay on no problem. The key is proper nail prep and a good base gel. A nice base gel works great by itself, you can also use base gel and a builder gel to glue on. builder is a little thicker and easier to adhere and keep air bubbles out. Regular hard gel and polygel work too.
Most plastic nails will need a few coats of gel for strength but other than that, good to go. My soft gel nails are no thicker than abs plastic. You can even find the exact same molds for some shapes. I notice zero difference in lasting power between my gel and plastic tips. Dont go broke buying those kits, you can buy stuff piece by piece for way less.
What base gels do you recommend?
I did nails in the 80’s and 90’s and early 2000’s. Wish we had all the stuff you do now. You do a great job!

Evvie, this is one of my favorite sets. I actually bought this kit a few months ago as a gift for my daughter who was inspired by you to learn to do her own nails. She has been improving daily. This kit was a great first kit for her. I wanted to comment regarding the curing lamp, I think that it is on a 60 second timer. Also, although the button is a little bit finicky, I believe you can also turn it off.

I got the Beatles kit a few weeks ago. I really love it. I am rough with my nails so I put a couple of coats of builder gel and so far they have been on my nails for almost two weeks with no lifting! I love it!

I'm glad you made a video of these. I love them so much and I own the Kiara Sky line. Also, the beetles lamp turns off on its own when the 30 or 60 seconds is up so no need to unplug it.

I have exactly the same style lamp that I bought on Wish for $1 and it has an on/off button and it works just great for what it is. Much better than the battery operated LED flash light that I see being used on other sites. 😊

Oh and my light turned off after some time & back on with my finger under the lamp. But.... Not a real power button. Completely flat. Couldn't even push it down. Best $20 ever

I love this lamp!!! My nails with good prep lasts like 2-3 weeks. I did a set on my cousin and the nail stayed on for a month. My lamp didn't work with thr cord it came with and I thought it was broken, I just used a different usb-c cord and it works perfectly. Also beetles has some bomb gel polish, so creamy and opaque

Just an **update ** after using this nail set kit for three months now I can tell you I will not use anything else. They are incredible, durable, the easiest set of nails I’ve ever used in my entire life and AFFORDABLE!!! I don’t see myself changing for anything else anytime soon
@@carlgrimes464 yes For the most part, I do always score the tips with a drill underneath and I do use a nail prep dehydrator as well as a nail extra bond. Both I bought from Mia’s secret on Amazon.

I can see why the little lamp doesn’t turn off… it’s helpful. I’ve done these on my own and it’s helpful that the light stays on since both hands are needed to hold down the nail.

You can buy full cover nails tips and a mini lamp and get these same results if you haven’t already tried it. 😅 I use Makartt tips and gelish base coat

I’ve tried apres and kiara sky. I now use Gel X nails from AliExpress. They are the exact same!! I use either base gel or builder gel to apply them. I’ve also seen the same type of C curve kiara sky lamp from SHEIN or AliExpress. It makes it easier to do. Xx
@@Raven1303x same! They are super affordable on Ali express and more flexible than plastic tips. I adhere with acrylic though
