I find the gooseneck uv/led lamp works way better than those where you have to put your nail underneath the light for gel x. A whole game changer!
@@RamoArt if you already have a UV lamp torch (like a flashlight but UV), you can attach it to a lamp or a book (so that it's elevated) and flash cure it that way! Works better than using the full lamp or the one this kit comes with.
@@RamoArt I suggest trying the solid nail glue, it's a game changer! It's actually meant for gel-x so it's not technically a "glue." But it helps so much bc the nails stay in place while you're working on the rest of the hand, so you can just put all the nails on at once and then put your hand in the lamp. You could flash cure them as you go if you wanted to be super safe, but I haven't found that I need to do that. Also I saw one video where the RUclipsr had a mild skin reaction, but if you don't have sensitive skin you should be fine - I haven't had any problems and I've been using it for awhile

Hey Evie, quick tip, always etch the inside of tips unless it says or you can see pre etched. The same science/ logic about buffing the tops before you put gel polish on the top applies to the inside before you attach to your natural nail. Gel doesn’t like smooth surfaces so for the best and strongest adhesion always etch and or buff. For people who don’t have an efile you can use primer on the inside of tips to chemically etch them. Hope that helps!

The tips are supposed to be gel. When using gel tips with gel adhesive you dont need to etch.
@@yoursurgerysister kiara sky’s kits are gel and it says etching helps with retention! I think it’s a case by case basis

I love how the gel holds tip in place!! But the size of tube is not enough
I loved that too but they definitely could’ve given a bigger size gel tube.
I have wide nails too and have always had issues with press ons. I’ve learned from your channel that I have to get the longer ones (I don’t really do long nails often) and I can jus cut them down to my desired length. I haven’t started doing my own nails yet, but I’ve been watching your channel for awhile and once I’m able to start, I’m getting everything I need! I loved this set btw!

The powder worked for me too! The first time I did this design I didn’t put acrylic and it was 100 times harder to blend the colors
This was my first time seeing the clear acrylic used. Her's definitely used less gel polish and the blending is beautiful.

Another tip ladies and gents: For those who struggle with the glue, in most of these kits, they have a liquid "glue" gel to adhere the tips. I found a solid glue on Amazon and the grip is amazing! There are numerous brands of these on there so just look for solid nail glue. They will come in pots and not bottles or tubes. They also come in nail bed color or other base colors for French tip affects. Good luck y'all!

@@elle8017 honestly the Beetles dupe she does a video on had a decent size zero. I just had to file the round part away 😞. Other than those I’ve neveeeeerrrr found a nail that actually fit. And I’ve tried so many brands 😞.

When you use the powder, use an orange wood stick to clean up the edges before you cure 😊

Would u say this type of gel is better than the ones with brush applicators? It did look easier to deal with especially since you did not need to hold the nail down.
If you ever add nail tips to your product line, PLEASE include larger sizes. Size 0 is just barely fits my middle finger, and I have NEVER found a tip that is big enough for my thumbs. I am cis female but I bet LOTS of trans women would love tips in larger sizes too. You could even offer the tips in single size packages, that way neither you nor the customer would have to waste half the package on sizes you'll never use. I would totally buy a package with size 000, 00, and each of my other fingers separately. I just can't believe nobody else does this, but I bet you could definitely corner the market.
THIS IS A DAMN GOOD IDEA!! It's an actual pet peeve of mine to not be able to use ALL the tips supplied, so annoying 😠
This is such an amazing idea!!! I hope Evie sees this and drops a patent real quick so no one else does this first!! I'm the opposite of you my fingers are so small only the last 4sizes fit me, being able to just buy your sizes would be amazing to reduce more unwanted plastic out there!
