Now I know why my aunt cried the day Elvis died. Wow, his voice. What a live performance! How many of today's artists can keep it pure and deliver like that?
I cried so long after he died, I was so young but I recognised what the world had lost even then. He was like some kind of angel that was able to connect with our hearts then and now
I remember the day I came home from school - my mother was reading the newspaper - and she told me that Elvis had died. It was devastating. Everyone was in shock. I wasn't alive when JFK was assassinated so I can't compare Elvis' passing to that event. The only other time I have experienced people publicly mourning on a massive scale like that was the sudden death of Princess Diana. Those are the two times that I have witnessed people openly crying in the street. That is because Elvis was far more than a singer. He reached your soul.
I was seven and living in New York the day he died and it is one of my few memories I have from living back there. I will never forget it and I really had no idea who he was at that time. He is the greatest entertainer this country has or will ever produce.
He emptied the tank every performance. I saw him in Texas. I was 19 & I believe he was 39. I didn’t want to miss a moment. Stage presence was out of this world & he looked like a Greek god. I knew I’d witnessed a special performer.
Jamal.... Elvis fans the world over were crushed & devastated when he passed away & the impact was very long lasting & still is. I became a fan of his when I was 8 (am 51 now) & when my parents (both Elvis fans) told me he’d died...... I cried for ages 😭😭😭 As long as his music is played somewhere around the world, his memory & his legacy will live on forever...... LONG LIVE THE KING ✋️👑🤚⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
When Elvis was trying to set signed for the first time, he walked into Sun Records and the receptionist said to a very young Elvis, “Who do you sound like?” Elvis thought for a moment and said, “Well ma’am, I don’t sound like nobody.” Boy was he right. He don’t sound like nobody.
I'm 60...raised on Elvis....saw him in concert when I was a teenager; and He still rocks my world ❤ BTW my Dad was in the audience for this performance 😃
Z wow dude that's a really Cosmic connection you have to say that fact that must be great I wish I had that bragging rights lol you know I'm just outside perspective but God bless you and Heaven
I see and feel the impact he has had on you my friend from just a few songs. His fan base is still being born. I was only 13 when he passed and for me it was like the world stopped spinning for weeks. For me the very fact that he has an impact on you just through video says everything you need to know about Elvis
Not just the older generation Jamel. I’m in my 30’s and discovered Elvis when I was 8yo. He’s stuck with me ever since. Love the man. He was not only the best entertainer but a wonderful human being with a heart of gold. God was on his side for sure. 💙💙💙
The day Elvis died, it felt like all the air was sucked out of the world. Every where I went people were crying or looked like they were in shock. My mom loved him too. I was the one who had to tell her. It broke my heart.
The thing with Elvis was/is ......every song he sang ... it just flowed from him. Yeah even though he was lathered up most of the time, he never even appeared to be breaking a sweat vocally while singing........ and to anyone that has tried to make a living singing knows that ain't easy by a long shot. The man never took a singing lesson in his life and had perfect pitch. Simply a genius and I'm so damn happy I was around and influenced by him before he went off the deep end in the early 70's.
i am 21 and a huge elvis fan. last weekend i visited the european elvis festival in bad nauheim. this man was everything. he changed lifes and still does.
When Elvis sings, you will never hear anything that he sings. Médiocre. He will give it his very best every single time. I'm 61 & have loved Elvis for as long as I can remember. I was told by my parents since I was around 2, I would always go up to the TV & stand, whenever Elvis was on, singing or watching one of his movies that I loved, and I would start Kissing him, on tv. My love for him never stopped. I've always loved other artist & I was completely crazy over Bob Seger but I had to say, even though I say Seger is my favorite, he is to a degree, but not more favorite, than Elvis! He's not just the King of Rock-in-Roll, he's a Legend, that nobody will ever touch, not even Michael Jackson, and I love Michael Jackson, but I'm sorry, he's touched & sang to a whole lot of people too, He just can't touch the King, as far as his music ability, the people all over the world, that loved him, his songs & his music. You have to consider all the ones he touched, that are already in heaven, as well. Alot of his fans were like my parents, who now live in their Heavenly home. In either "72" or "73", my daddy, mama & aunt got alot of my family tickets to see Elvis in Atlanta, at the Omni! I was so impressed at what I had seen & heard, it was a once in a lifetime concert, that 'll always Cherish & remember forever, as long as I live! 💖 I'm not sure if you know, or are aware of the fact that when Elvis did his Concerts in Hawaii, That was such a special big night & for me it was a monumental occasion! It was the 1st time a Concert & to my knowledge, anything, had ever been shown via satellite, all across the world!! It was a big moment in time, for everyone watching! The concert was Phenomenal, as always! I'm so glad that all of you do these reactions for everyone. Thanks too all of you, a new generation & even some older generations, are finally hearing Elvis sing, get to watch his moves, his style & his charisma, but most of all, you get to hear his Beautiful voice & get to see for yourself why he's the King of Rock-in-Roll & why he'll always be considered a Legend!!! I will always love Elvis!! I love your show!!! 💖💖💖💖💖
Oh man. You made me cry here. I still miss the man. He’s been in my ears since my childhood and I never heard anyone put it into words like you just did. Our generation still feels the heartbreak of his departure. He influenced and impacted us in a way that is deeper than words...until now. Thx for finding the words.
Possibly the best Elvis performance ever...tears are streaming down my face, by the beauty of his voice....thank god we have this to listen to and watch...
Wow, you're reaction brought back many memories. The day Elvis died (august 16, 1977), I was driving along when it came over the radio and I stopped dead in the middle of the road and sat there in disbelief for almost an hour. I don't know if anyone honked at me or yelled for me to get off the road because I was completely numb. That was a very sad day because of all he meant to the world. My brother said there wasn't a thing I didn't know about Elvis and he was right. A few days later, Ronnie McDowell wrote and recorded the song The King is Gone and it was eerie because he studied Elvis for a long time and sounded so much like him.
He meant that! Thank you for not only doing Elvis but for really feeling him and understanding the connection between Elvis and his fans. I was 14 when Elvis passed I was devastated! And felt a tremendous loss. I don't know of a time I didn't love him. Even now.
I’m 62 and I still get goosebumps from every song. It’s like a spirit to spirit connection I’ve had since childhood. Elvis was the first celebrity crush of this little black, Detroit girl who lived music and movies.
Bridge Over Troubled Waters is a great vocal performance by Elvis powerful and soulful 1970 this is his best year of the 70s he was in good physical and vocal condition around this time much better in 1970 than 1977 great performance should have won award for this
This was a huge hit for Simon & Garfunkel in 1970. Paul Simon who wrote this said when Elvis recorded this it was much better than the original he recorded! Simon later wrote a tribute to Elvis called "Graceland" that would be great for a reaction!
Elvis by far the greatest entertainer/singer/performer. But what’s even more important is how incredible of a person he was. Elvis gave at least half of his money to others and charities. If you take the time to watch and listen to the many videos out there with his family and friends. It’s truly astounding how he helped people and donated to charities. If he had it, he shared it. Such an incredible human being. One dear friend of his described Elvis as second to Jesus, that there was not a better man that walked the earth other than Jesus. Pretty incredible description. Tears still flow down my face with certain songs of his when he performs them. I’m still in awe of Elvis. Truly timeless. I’m so glad the younger generation is giving a listen to Elvis. May he carry on forever.
Jamel he had a song called "Walk a mile in my Shoes" it's a socially conscious song that should let him speak for himself. Thank you for keeping his legacy alive my man.
Minute 1:56, "when you are down and out, when you are on the street" What a powerful message of encouragement from the King of Rock n Roll to be thinking of those in such hardship.
I listen to this song every single night in bed. It's always the last song I listen before I fall asleep. Always with the earphones. I feel taken to another place. Heart touching. Beautiful. It's another song Elvis owned after performed it.
You know, Jamel, I can just imagine how he'd feel now, 42 years after he's gone, to hear your words about him. Truly, virtually the whole world was in love with him and mourned his untimely death. Thanks for another beautiful reaction video....
This special man was here for millions of sad lonely kids through many a tears , and a lifelong friend He left a legacy for all, to be tapped into , for whatever gap needs filling and a returned laugh or smile. Dd
I was 14 years old in 1977 when Elvis died. My uncle had introduced me to him around 4 years before. I'd just bought his last studio album. Over the years, I've grown out of a lot of the music that I listened to in my youth, but Elvis is someone I will always listen to.
As a young man like you are now. An I heard him sing songs like this I thought they were his an anyone else sing them was a cover. Elvis Presley is the only artist that I've ever known that could sing someone else song an not only sound better but actually sell more album than the original. An he done that with several songs that was not his.
As a young man I never gave Elvis the credit he deserved. He was more of a joke act but the more you watch and listen you realise just how special he was.
Also the cheesey movies and songs that came from them. I spent my youth thinking he was that clown in the movies, come to find out he hated them, the songs and that image. The more I watched his performances the more I saw what a phenomenal talent he was.
My mother was obsessed with Elvis Presley. If one of his movies aired on TV, or he was on television for any reason, we watched it. I appreciated much more as I got older. His death impacted everyone I knew. Many people were completely stunned and lost when he passed. He was a special man.
Thank you man for doing that! I love seeing the way other people souls reacts on watching and listening to the best singer this world have ever see.. And please do a reaction on "Just pretend" live version :)
You nailed it buddy. Thank you for understanding Elvis and for understanding us fans. I still cry every August, listening to him all month. Then, again in January.
I was just nine years old when Elvis died and I can still remember the impact of that day. I remember the sense of shock and great loss. Elvis was and shall always be the king, he was the complete package and he will forever be missed.
Just a beautiful rendition, shakes one to the core. It was a big loss losing him. I always begged my mom to take me to see him in Vegas when I was a kid. Never happened. A teacher of mine in Elementary school, Francis Smith, in Bakersfield CA was from Memphis, beautiful woman, dated Elvis just after he hit it big, 1956 or 57. She told me he was as sweet as could be, so kind, a complete gentleman, very humble. She even brought a picture of them together, she just thought he was an amazing person. I live in Vegas, work in the casino business, an old friend, a boss who retired, worked security in the 70s at The International Hotel where this song was filmed, said Elvis was just a unique person, treated everyone as a friend, came in the employee cafeteria many times and spent many nights talking to them, tell stories and take pictures. Everyone just loved him, never heard anyone say a bad word about him. Drugs took it all away, a lesson to everybody. A kind, gentle soul, robbed of half his life.
I remember driving home from Houston to Lubbock when it came on the radio that Elvis had died. I was shocked, literally. I could no longer drive I pulled over and wept. It was surreal.
All you could do was throw your hands up huh?! I feel you!! The more words you try to come up with, the more you feel like you're mumbling and not making sense!😂😂😂 The man is incomparable!!
So cool to see that this affects you like this...I think the sadness that Elvis fans felt after wasn't just the fact that their favorite singer had died but the realization that we never have that feeling again. Keep doin what you do!
I think the most incredible thing is the impact Elvis has on YOUNGER GENERATIONS. The elders lived at that time. We, children of that generation, have heard so many bands, singers throughout the 80's, 90's ...... and only Elvis causes that kind of feelings. I speak for myself ... I became an Elvis fan at the age of 10 (I'm 40). I saw pictures of him on TV, it was the 12th anniversary of his death and I was fascinated with his beauty. And what a beautiful voice ... that night I dreamed of him. Today and thanks to youtube, I'm addicted!!! This man must have something very special and different. It's not just beauty, it's not just voice ... he has an aura that captivates anyone, like he was not human, real....
Enjoyed your reviews, Elvis was one of a kind and special he was so young 42 when he passed I was 7 yrs old and cried hes all my family listen to. He has so much passion and connected with those that listened to him
Roger Mogstad ..... You’re only as old as you feel & “age is nothing but a number” when it comes to showing appreciation & being a fan of The King. I’ve been a fan of his just a bit longer (I’m 51 & a fan since the age of 8) & am loving these videos of the great man in action ✊️👑🤚
In addition to his incredible talent, he surrounded himself with the best band and backup singers. So versatile, non judgemental, music was music and he could interpret any genre at the top of his game

The only other time I have experienced people publicly mourning on a massive scale like that was the sudden death of Princess Diana. Those are the two times that I have witnessed people openly crying in the street. That is because Elvis was far more than a singer. He reached your soul.
You are so right all ages and all kinds of people were moved by his unique raw talent everything about him incredible
I love Elvis singing gospel music. The way he sings it touches your soul. He was just an awesome singer.
This is Simon and Garfunkel song just like The Sound of Silence. It does have a bit of a gospel feel just like the Beatles' Let it Be.
Chip Tapp if you've never heard Elvis sing He Touched Me, you need to. It goes deep into your soul and changes you.
@@belleferrar8898 I have I love his gospel music.
There is no one even close when it comes to his Gospel performances.
I was 10 I agree with all you said my parents also his fans what a loss he was to everyone
Elvis could sing the phone book. What an unbelievable God given talent!!
I love this quote too and so true
Amazing voice, you got that right. What a guy..
And on the 8th day God created Elvis
Elvis's tone was pure....baritone to tenor! His range was sweet to the core!
*I am 28 yrs old, I have been an Elvis LOVER since I was 2 yrs old. That's almost all my life.*
Beutiful reaction 😥
THE king from another planet 😍

Thanks Donald P!!!
Only once in the history of mankind does one person get the looks, the voice, the soul and talent come together. Add in his generous and kind spirit.
Whenever you had the chance to see Elvis, perform. I know in my heart you got your money's worth. Such a wonderful performer.
I see and feel the impact he has had on you my friend from just a few songs. His fan base is still being born.
I was only 13 when he passed and for me it was like the world stopped spinning for weeks.
For me the very fact that he has an impact on you just through video says everything you need to know about Elvis
so true.
I was 11 and will never forget that day. 😪
@@rodneyhill5960 I hear you .
I was 9 ,I drove my mom crazy.i played his music for 2weeks straight, and being sad the whole time.. Elvis fan for life!! I still listen to he's music
@@michellehubbard7865 only Elvis could do that
Elvis Presley could take any song. and make it his own. ELVIS will live on. FOREVER.
Elvis Presley version of this song was amazing he was a beautiful amazing God loving man w a heart of gold. Nobody like Elvis Presley.
Not just the older generation Jamel. I’m in my 30’s and discovered Elvis when I was 8yo. He’s stuck with me ever since. Love the man. He was not only the best entertainer but a wonderful human being with a heart of gold. God was on his side for sure. 💙💙💙
None better than Elvis. He could sing anything. Nobody sang with more feeling, and passion. Miss Elvis... he was the best.
Watch how I sang the song "Bridge over troubled water": ruclips.net/video/PZyb07p2D1g/видео.html
Elvis Presley, a legend. The best singer who ever passed this planet. Your voice is simply indescribable
i am 21 and a huge elvis fan.
last weekend i visited the european elvis festival in bad nauheim. this man was everything. he changed lifes and still does.
Amazing Lea 🙏🏾
Thank u for playing elvis.hes been gone.but not forgotten.
You are right. He lives in our heart!
Oh man. You made me cry here. I still miss the man. He’s been in my ears since my childhood and I never heard anyone put it into words like you just did. Our generation still feels the heartbreak of his departure. He influenced and impacted us in a way that is deeper than words...until now. Thx for finding the words.
Perfectly said

Possibly the best Elvis performance ever...tears are streaming down my face, by the beauty of his voice....thank god we have this to listen to and watch...
Few things bring me more joy than watching someone experience Elvis whom also clearly gets what Elvis is really all about. It’s a spiritual thing.
I was only 10 but I remember crying with my family your reaction so genuine and sad I'm glad you stopped driving and sat awhile..
Elvis had that rare ability to really reach in and touch your soul. Iv missed him every single day since 1977.
Greatest of all time I still get goosebumps listening to him!!!
I listen to this song every single night in bed. It's always the last song I listen before I fall asleep. Always with the earphones. I feel taken to another place. Heart touching. Beautiful. It's another song Elvis owned after performed it.
He never felt like he was any better than his fans..... He was always himself... such a wonderful man..
Yes that's right there's only one word for him, incredible, God blessed him with that voice
I'm 49 and 5 when he died.. Grew up with Elvis with my mom.. Such an impact on my life!
You know, Jamel, I can just imagine how he'd feel now, 42 years after he's gone, to hear your words about him. Truly, virtually the whole world was in love with him and mourned his untimely death. Thanks for another beautiful reaction video....
Thank You🙏🏾
This special man was here for millions of sad lonely kids through many a tears , and a lifelong friend
He left a legacy for all, to be tapped into , for whatever gap needs filling and a returned laugh or smile.
Dd
Thats right❤
So true.
Every time Elvis sings live it’s like I’m in church
James Lindsay Thank the Elvis impersonators for that!
Also the cheesey movies and songs that came from them.
I spent my youth thinking he was that clown in the movies,
come to find out he hated them, the songs and that image.
The more I watched his performances the more I saw what
a phenomenal talent he was.
I never appreciated Elvis until the last few years. He has such an incredible voice. No one compares to him.
If you do a reaction to ‘Just Pretend’ it will demonstrate the interaction he had with fans even whilst he was on stage!
Yes!! Just Pretend is my favorite Elvis song!
You nailed it buddy. Thank you for understanding Elvis and for understanding us fans. I still cry every August, listening to him all month. Then, again in January.
Yea dude. Thanks for giving props to us OGs. You are a blessed soul yourself, Youngblood.
Such a great reaction video. I think you're very right about feeling the loss of Elvis. I think a lot of people feel that way.
I was just nine years old when Elvis died and I can still remember the impact of that day. I remember the sense of shock and great loss. Elvis was and shall always be the king, he was the complete package and he will forever be missed.
I was 10 and totally agree the shock was worldwide he was and is so loved
I was lucky enough to see him in concert 3 times. I love seeing your genuine appreciation for the huge talent that Elvis was. ❤️
No other man on this planet that sings like Elvis ever no other performer ever he was the best his music still lives on
I remember driving home from Houston to Lubbock when it came on the radio that Elvis had died. I was shocked, literally. I could no longer drive I pulled over and wept. It was surreal.
Beautifil version.. GREAT ELVIS.. one and only!!
All you could do was throw your hands up huh?! I feel you!! The more words you try to come up with, the more you feel like you're mumbling and not making sense!😂😂😂 The man is incomparable!!
That man could sing, wow! My mom cried for days when he passed.
Bless her so did my mum and me I am 55 now and have listened to him always
I love Elvis. When I was a little girl I listened to him everyday. I thought Elvis was the only singer around. I'm 54 now mom listened
So cool to see that this affects you like this...I think the sadness that Elvis fans felt after wasn't just the fact that their favorite singer had died but the realization that we never have that feeling again.
Keep doin what you do!
I Totally Agree!
He has so much passion and connected with those that listened to him
Hi everybody! I’m younger than Elvis generation and watching him performing make start to think he the greatest performer of all time!
I'm 18 and I love Elvis's songs, just as it's only his songs I listen to. And I'm brazilian =D
I'm not old😬.. Only 46 years old 😎, and been a fan since I was 6 in 1979. You are great.. Love your reaction videos. Thank you👍🏼
Roger Mogstad .....
It's true... Elivs could sing the phone book back in the day and make it sound amazing
Hi Jamel, I stumbled across your channel quite by accident and I have to say I am so glad I did. Your reactions come across as truly honest. You can see how you are touched by the music you react too, such as this song. Glad to see you don't get into the negative and that you delete it. I was raised on every kind of music that was and is out there.....and some just touch you in a certain way to give you "goose bumps". Thank you for keeping it real! You have a new fan. (After listening to the last 10 of your Reactions)! God Bless.
Haha! Me Too! I stumbled onto this channel & after watching 2 videos had to subscribe! 😊👍
