    Just found your channel, and without a doubt you have a talent for RUclips videos and the touch for flying. You are light years ahead of “A lot” of aviation RUclipsrs, you can stay on the centerline.

      That means a lot, I appreciate it. Hopefully there will be many more videos in the future.

    The 180 H.P. Cherokee was a very nice aeroplane. It flew well and carried a payload very well.Nice low fatigue aircraft to fly

    Started watching this and looked a the notes: 8.2 hours... "didn't have autopilot". SHEESH! Well done! Look forward to some of these myself. And I was rolling with "can't make charile" followed by the direction to another plane for a go-around. I'm sure you felt that one.

      Yeah it hurt but I had to, it was too risky to try to make it. The winds were very strong with large gusts. Getting on the ground was difficult enough aside from having to race to the runway. They did their job though. And yeah I will never forget that flight. Physically and mentally taxing but was the moment my imposter syndrome of being a pilot kinda went away. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Hopefully there will be more in the future.

      Weather has been rough here for a while. Just now starting to ease up. Plus I’m just slow and working on 4 videos at once. Will get more consistent very soon. Hope to have new vid up this month

    Cool video! You passed over Tinker AFB where I have worked for over 20 years. You then went to AAR where I was a Line Service Attendant from 1986 to 2001.

    Just came upon your channel and glad I did. I’m impressed with the confident command you have of your 180, especially in those winds. I regularly fly a 1966 180 myself but can’t say I’ve reached your level of proficiency yet. Great job! Keep the videos coming.

      Thanks Sally! It taught me a lot! I have a much more laid back video tomorrow that should be a good change of pace. What did you fly btw?

      @@lukeslanding2230 trained in 150s and 172s and ended up flying a friend's Warrior a lot. Don't fly any more, but still enjoying simming.

      @@SallySparks that’s awesome. Pretty much the same as me, 150L to PA-28 180. I started out with simming and still do almost everyday! I’d like to fly a warrior at some point to see the differences

    Could tell you were getting tired. May have wanted to crash out a few hours and then went flying towards the end. I used to do those long haul drives across country and I would start falling asleep and just sleep in the car for a few hours. After 5 or 6 hours I am screaming to get out of the plane. Maybe it's just more stressful flying vs driving or I'm just getting old, who knows?

    • @lukeslanding2230
      @lukeslanding2230  2 года назад

      I rested for about 2 hours before leaving OKC. But you’re correct. I learned a lot from this flight. One thing was the exhaustion of flying for that long. But I was wide awake because I was “On” because I wasn’t necessarily relaxed being single engine at night. I lot of my fatigue was from my back from being in that seat for so long.
      Thanks for watching. Wouldn’t have known people actually enjoyed watching this stuff

      The video side is my career so I have a lot of experience with that side. This is actually only 3 cameras but I switch it up quite a bit to make try to make you feel like you’re along with me.
