Thank you for video....this is EXACTLY what happened to mine. Also...your viewers should note that there is a terminal block spring (plus mount) that keeps tension on the battery terminal block. Easy to lose and probably a good thing to put back in.....provides rigidity to the terminal block that the battery plugs in to.
Thank you for repairing that Sawzall that Dewalt Sawzall I'm 69 and I got my one working and it's it's look well it works but it was hot so I'm tearing it apart and I'm pretty sure that's exactly what's wrong with it thank you again
Thank you very much. It wasn't the same problem I had with mine but I managed to fix it from the vid info .Luckily tracing the wiring I noticed one of the battery pins was hitting the outside of the battery post instead of going on each side (could only see with it taken apart ) ...also the safety button has a separate switch it appeared (?) and it was dusty , slightly a pain to put back but maybe the safety switch gets sticky too (?) ...I am refering to a 18 Volt That I run a 20 volt battery adapter in and the problem lately is the battery is heavy (7ah iirc) , different leverage when saw bopping stuff occasionally ....SAVED me today I was figuring borrow one maybe , buy a new one or hand and hack saw the nails from different angles ...thanks again EDIT: My fix for the battery clamp pin was to bend one side inner in and the outer in with a small knife , dull side of course ...I used a flashlight to make sure it slid on correct and it did , instead of one pin over it, other mashed in on one terminal phew too long explain ...
This helped - my tool is no longer working. When I pull the trigger I hear the click and the light in front turns on but saw blade will not engage. Hope this will be an easy fix too. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼.
Last night I found a DCS381 in a dumpster at a construction site. Not sure whats wrong with it, but the second I saw it I grabbed it to repair. Its missing the battery, so I will have to buy that, but the videos I have been watching give me good hope that its very fixable. This video, and one where the shaft was the issue both give me hope. Keeping things out of landfills is important. Saving good tools is too. Thanks for the good video. I might do a repair video myself when I figure out whats wrong with it.
Thats Crazy .. I too found mine in a Bin without the Battery, but all it needed was a Battery ... Im looking here to find out How to dismantle a Saw, Service and Lubricate it .. But this vid doesnt show how .. Nice to Re-use Tools that dont end up as Landfill ..
Good fix it should give you many more years of good service. As a creator I wanted you you know that I found you by searching for entering Dcs 380 that is the sawzall model number. Keep fighting the fight and God bless from frozen Alaska 😁
Thanks so much for the feedback and checking out the channel. I love making the videos and am getting ready to get back on putting some new stuff up. Kind of took a break during the holidays. My wife and I took an Alaskan cruise on our honeymoon and loved it. Beautiful up there for sure. Take care and God bless!

I don't want it to turn off when it gets too hot I want it to set on fire. Then I'll know to throw it away
HAHAHA I understand. Thanks for commenting
Most modern-day Tradesmen throw them out, buy a new one and pass the cost onto their customers in this Disposable World
