Kats are eventually going to find out soon enough as to how underground the San Jose music scene really is. There's a deep love for Hip Hop here going way back. Some of the legendary MC's from the Battle Rap Universe reside in San Jose. Kats like Jay Turner & Dirtbag Dan have been laying the foundation for a minute now and its local music scene is a hotbed for bands looking to do their own thing. As for Peanut, I honestly want this Kat to check in to his Home Town and see what's good. :-)

For one hes known to use samples heavily in his productions so he doesnt want to deal with the whole sample clearance hassle. Nowadays it's much more difficult to release sample based music because of modern technology and "sample snitching". I think on the recent red bull interview he had he mentions that most of the beats he does are specifically made for him to listen for his own pleasure and then afterwards he would then put them on cds and give them out to certain artists to pick out from. He even joked about telling one of his children to burn his studio and music when he dies so no one could capitalize off from it.
