Dilla ws the biggest puppet of them all. This guy was so untalented it wasn't funny anymore. One of the worst producers of all times. I shit on his grave.
Dope Dilla face sticker on my back windshield rollin' around Detroit showing respect like I'm spose to. Dilla will always be our Hometown Hero! Rest In Beats
I don't feel sad after watching this, but rather blessed. Blessed that in JD's short life, he left us with his ultimate gift. His music was apart of his soul. This doc captured that and paid homage to J in a great way.
Dilla was the best!! IS still the best. It's so amazing to see how many people have taken his music and honored him by doing tributes. The Roots have a free download called "Roots Dilla joints". It's awesome!! Miguel Atwood-Ferguson put out Suite for Ma Dukes. I think Dilla would be blown away at how much he affected people. I'm still discovering beats till this day that I didn't know he did. Truly a beautiful soul.
ya know, i went into the CD store at the mall in my city, and i went straight into the hip hop section and i was surprised when i saw people like MF DOOM and all of his different personas, J Dilla, A Tribe Called Quest, Mos Def, and several other great artists and i was just so happy that J Dilla was in there, i bought all of his CD's the store owned and i told the cashier thank you for having good music, and he looks at me and says "Dilla may be dead, but his legacy lives on"
It's nice to hear from folks that know of his California work. Sure wish he and Madlib made more music together. But completely grateful for Jaylib!! 🔊🎶
Dilla’s beats are G.O.D on vinyl. It’s literally the boom-bap rhythm of my soul. Makes me want to be great. Doin’ me. #musicheals #MŪZïQRx™ #bipolarlife *Do you.* _J. Dilla._
Thank you for posting this..from the bottom of my soul. Dilla's legacy needs to be preserved, and this mini doc is a step towards this. One of the most brilliant musical icons of our generation. Thank you Jay Dee, you changed my life.
@@20yearsago88 yup! It was upstairs. I would go there to cop mixtapes from 2004 up until it closed in 2010. I think DJ Truly Od from Fridaynight Flavas worked there to at one point. I remember he put out a mixtape called the Take Over in 2006.
When B+ is talking, that one record that is alone, with two dudes on the cover, is an amazing brazilian record: Antonio Carlos & Jocafi's Mudei De Ideia. Awesome album!
@@newflavaz1583 no dude. i was tripping balls one night in the D while on a cross country roadtrip in 2014. this dude was trying to scam people for parking outside of a club, around 3am or so. i countered him by telling him the story of how i discovered J Dilla as a teenager and how that led me to this moment in Detroit, and offered him the mixtapes as a token of goodwill. good times...
11 YEARS AGO THIS DOC WAS POSTED AND IT STILL RESONATES WITH ME ON AN EVEN HIGHER LEVEL TODAY. DILLA WAS AND STILL IS THAT FUCKIN' DUDE, AND SADLY MISSING FROM THIS DOPE GAME CALLED "MUSIC", HE WOULD STILL BE MAKING THAT ILL SHIT TODAY. IT'S STUFF LIKE THIS DOC THAT KEEPS LIFE VERY INTERESTING.
I always hear slum or frank n dank say dilla had a formula. Then engineer sort of gave away or hinted something about dilla. So like someone else commented: Respect on a higher level! Shoots! it all makes sense, they said he use to spend hours in the basement. By the time he's doing mixdowns with the engineer in LA he has time under his belt. I am definitely going to re-listen to Donuts!
That stonesthrow cat said he had 2 discs Dilla gave him. Donuts the way Jay made it. 20 minutes long. Anybody else wanna here that? Shit release it, I'll buy. No bootleg.
that's a really good question... i'd definitely would like to hear what Madlib would have to say about Dilla and what its like working with him specially on the Jaylib project.. he prolly just wants to keep it all a secret...but damn, now that you gave me that idea i wanna know so bad!
I read that there was a tape called Pizza man from j dilla out there.wonder why that didn’t get leaked and the 2nd installment series that he sent to madlib got leaked.
I watch this video at least twice a month, Dilla lives on in our soul, music is full of puppets these days. Rest in beats Dillla.
Dilla ws the biggest puppet of them all. This guy was so untalented it wasn't funny anymore. One of the worst producers of all times. I shit on his grave.
Made some of his best work while on his deathbed. Still blows me away.
May his memory be a blessing.

RIP J Dilla!
so whose idea was it to play Madlib's beat for the entire video?
Thank you for putting this!
"I was like what the hell is this, this is like a dream come true for hip hop-music". couldn't have said it any better
It would seem like Madlib would've been in this since EVERYONE ELSE from the Stones Throw brain trust was on it,PB Wolf,Egon and Dave Cooley.
