2020 is the time we need a J Dilla documentary that tells the world how important J Dilla was to music. This is great, but it’s time everyone knows how much this man has influenced popular music.

'I'm not mourning, I'm rejoicing'. His musical legacy gets bigger the further away we are from his passing. And we continue to rejoice.
Jay Dilla was, is and will be the best ever to do it! Truly a gift from the Gods👑👑
ms yancey, your son was one of the most influential artists in music,period..he embodied the true essence of hip hop and the only thing that overshadowed his intellectually eclectic fused creativity was his uncompromised ingenuity...his production was timeless and he had a great passion for life..he is sadly missed and his music will always uplift the masses..his musical expression empowers people and it keeps his legacy alive, no doubt...GOD BLESS!
His mother is taking his passing so well, totally inspired my music on my RUclips account
funny all the comments wanting a movie or newer doc. i really strongly feel the music speaks for itself ... a movie isn't needed, just put fantastic vol 2 on and get transported and you get everything dilla was about and more ... look at all those heads rocking at his wake at the end, priceless. cool doc here, some really intimate interviews with people who knew him deeply. nice one.
Thank for everything Mr. Dilla!!!👏😌
7:26 BILAL & D'Angelo... best male vocalists since 1995.
Its 2021 we still shining for jay dee,you forever the goat.
my greatest inspiration. Dilla manages to put me in a place I constantly appreciate, so much love for this guy.
I love him. I loved his music even when I didn’t even know the person and legend.
I also fortunate to see Dilla in London, at an underground performance in Central London. Unfortunately, he was in a wheel chair, as you illness had taken its tole, however he still presented himself to his loyal fans. He has and will always be my favorite producer.
J dilla would of kilt this age of hip hop him and Jcole or Kendrick omg 🔥🔥🔥🔥
incredible. j dilla is hip hop's soul.
Thank you for this
we need a movie on his life!!!!!!
J DILLA STILL INSPIRING........BLESSINGS FROM CHILE
20:52 wooow, even at a time when he was producing for some of the most popular artists on the planet he still took time to do some "underground" shows with his brothers from Slum, giving his all to the audience. An amazing human being.
Nah it’s only cuz he was still underground and that’s that’s in 1999...fantastic vol 2 wasn’t even out yet officially...he was still very very underground
@@unknownembassy by '99 he was nominated for several Grammies, and produced for Janet Jackson, dude. does that sound "very very underground" to you?
@@kol25 yeah tbh...he didnt even get credit for the janet jackson record...so if anyone were to be nominated it would be jimmy jam & terry luis.
j dilla was very underground maybe up untill...like 2002. even still...he doesnt get the recognition he deserves
1 of the best documentrys I ever seen.............
It's like Dilla said to himself if he's gotta leave early he's gonna leave us a huge legacy. Dilla won't die as long as people hear his music. He's still with us because we still love and enjoy his music.
