    J dilla was so humble,when we met after one of his performances at the Jazz Cafe on the Jaylib tour
    I told him that "he was the greatest,and that nobody couldn't touch him".,,,he was like “thanx man I need to hear that”...I was like "don't you know your the truth ?!Everyone is here to see YOU fam"
    He was like "nah" lol
    I legit didn’t understand how he could be so great yet so humble,madlib was on stage before KILLING IT
    But when Dilla came on…I swear I saw that sh*t in slow motion 😂 😂

    The legend man. Lupus took him too soon. You can say anything about him, but you can't say he wasn't dedicated to his craft. Not many producers that I listen to banged out beats in the hospital. #Restinbeats

      The man had lupus but died from cardiac arrest due to a rare blood disease that he had gotten and there was no operation for it at the time so he was stuck with it, RIP Jay Dee, you inspired me to make a produce beats

    Man it's just so heartbreaking to know that a dude so incredibly talented, so gifted, and such a humble cool person was taken from this world so soon. But at least we got to have him while we did and he left us with some amazing beats to enjoy. RIP Dilla, you were and always will be the best.

    The sound of hip hop changed when he passed. His sound generated so much life, rather it was the samples, or beats from scratch, he had his own distinctive sound.. He didn't care for the attention or the spot light. Very humble dude. That dude was always different from every other producer out there. One of a one. JAY DEE

As much as I love the classic Dre and Timbaland beats (props for Timbo for being as equally versatile making a r&b beat as he is making a hip hop beat) but in time, my taste has switched more towards Madlib, Dilla, Pete Rock etc. And of course, to keep it current, MF DOOM was a one of a kind producer too..

    Dilla was so ahead of his...you can listen to a Dilla beat from '95 & it sounds new. people slept on J when he was alive, but now you got a lot of aspiring producers & even legendary producers looking at his music for inspiration. R.I.P. James Yancey

    I just started REALLY digging into dilla’s catalogue a few days ago, and I’ve gotta say, he. ALREADY has a shit ton of influence on my own beats... even more than Madlib, Tyler, DOOM, and Kanye who I’ve listened to for quite awhile now, and it’s only been a few weeks of studying this king of beats!

    Dilla took a page out Eric Sermons book (mid 90s sound) real listeners know. Bass lines & claps, Eric Sermon did it first but JD took it somewhere else.

    he was talking about the song called "Shoomp" feat Shaggy. It was released on a '12 as a single.
    The sample is "Genius of Love" by Tom Tom Club,from 1981
