    Woah! Thank you! Huge help! Took my rappy apart. Photographic memory is good so I threw all internal parts in a messy pile. Well money was short so two months later I'm looking at these parts like wtf. Even with a service manual I'm clueless right now. Thank you!

    This video was much needed. Its not one good 660 bottom end video on youtube. Really wish you had a part 2 installing the clutch basket, fly wheel, gears etc.

    Thank you for this video! Finally someone made a bottom end. I’m in the process of tearing down my 2001 660 that is completely locked up. For the 2001, and 2002 model years they had an issue with 2nd gear - best case apparently jumps out a lot, worst case it grenades, when I tear it apart what should I be looking for in terms of wear?

      KG Productions thanks for watching! I would start with seeing if any teeth on the gears are chipped or broken.

    When installing the bearings, people say to heat the case in the oven. Will the heat damage the oil seal behind the counter balancer bearing?

    • @MotoEsh
      @MotoEsh  3 года назад

      Yes the temp needed to heat the cases to drop bearings in WILL damage any rubber or plastic components in the engine including oil seals. Great question tho.

    So is the gasket not necessary on the oil strainer, the gasket kit I got didn't come with a new one, there was one when I took apart,

    what about when the markings are on both sides of the bearings? lol

  • @LifeofAedan
    @LifeofAedan 3 года назад +1

    Hey, do you know if the bearing next to the pto is a sealed bearing? I can't tell from video and my kit came with of the same bearings, one sealed one not

    • @MotoEsh
      @MotoEsh  3 года назад

      Usually any bearing going from inside to outside cases is sealed.

    • @LifeofAedan
      @LifeofAedan 3 года назад +1

      @@MotoEsh perfect, guess it is not sealed. Thanks!!

    So as for the camshaft balancer I installed my crank and all the bearings are seeted and I put the crankshaft balancer in and it hits the crankshaft just the slightes bite. When the cases are together will the crankshaft balencer gear pull the balencer in to position

    How can you be sure that the rebuild of the gear is good 100%?

    • @MotoEsh
      @MotoEsh  3 года назад

      I would like to think because I followed the Manuel and have rebuilt transmissions in the past. The ability to see if it’s wrong more so than if it’s right

      @@MotoEsh i am going to separate the cases this week, I thought what if I turn the crank and test the shift at the same time, just to have a little advice but thank that tells how simple it is if we are concentrated

      Michel Hervis I use the Clymer, and dealer copies. but would advise to buy an original copy or get at least the torque specs printed off from a dealership for that specific year.

  • @curtisnstacey

    what manual are you using?

    • @MotoEsh
      @MotoEsh  4 года назад

      curtisnstacey using a clymer Manuel as well as online diagrams, clymer can be off in a few areas.
