Here's an idea. Don't build pickleball courts in areas where people live. People have the right to play pickleball, and people have the right to enjoy the peace and quiet of their own homes. And the people's homes were there first. Build the pickleball courts elsewhere, and everyone is happy.
Yeah. There should be indoor pickleball courts.
People mocking these complainers do not live near pickleball courts. Show some empathy.
Naw. This is get of my lawn not in my back yard behavior.
@@Mektah such a macho guy, big man....
@tony d yeah but I agree with him, people trying to get out and enjoy the outside and your complaining because it's too noisy? I wish I had that problem.
Get off my lawn Boomer !
@@GizmoBeach no but a major highway and two major intersections are. The parks don't even stay open all night.
A game that loud should be played indoors only.
ok boomer
@@homersenemy7105 Spoken like someone who has never had to live with constant noise complaints. Trust me, it really sucks if you can't even feel at home in your own home.
@@homersenemy7105 Maybe your mom's basement is soundproof, so you are OK with pickleball I guess...
Hope your home gets one behind it and your property value goes down.
Pickle ball sound is torture for sure. Everyday.
I own in a small HOA resort community and am a pickleball player. In order to transform one tennis court to pickleball we had to take an ownership vote to change the CC&R’s. The vote called for sound deadening blankets, “quiet” paddles and time restrictions. It’s working so far.
This video has my in tears. These people are insane!
Terrible, buy a home only to have to stay in side with windows closed.
Not so good for resale either..
Some have no empathy or consideration for others.
I live in a neighborhood where I hear gun shots nightly. Pickleball would be music to my ears compared to gun shots. Consider yourselves blessed.
That one guy was so Mad about it HAHAHA 😁😁😁
A lot of talking but very little audio on the reason for the story. How about 20 seconds of nothing but the noise so people get some idea if it is annoying
lady with the flower dress should pick up a paddle and burn some calories rather than complaining at a city council meeting @ 1:44
No empathy?
Hope it happens to you.
It is a terrible sound.
See how long you enjoy it right behind your house.
Will not help Property value either
Maybe Midnight Basketball should come to Chestnut Hill.
A room full of Karens
If you lived anywhere near one of these places you'd change your tune in a hurry.
such a macho dude, what an alpha...
"Location" is also the concern in our city - Evansville Indiana- plans for 24 courts in a city park-paving the last area of open grassy land, despite 70 acres of open barren land (including a closed Par3 golf course and municipal stadium) just a few hundred yards away. Nearby towns have elected to build courts in existing sports parks or other rural areas (former farm land).
At least you got courts and the courts have people as well. I got to go to a different city and hope there are players
It covers up the gun shot sounds.
That one woman looks like she needs to play some pickle ball and shed some lbs
She's too busy still wearing a mask when she could simply reduce her COVID risk by losing weight
@@alexanderhalloran I still wear a mask, due to receiving a organ transplant.
@@anthonylagunas6737 congrats on being in the 0.1% of the population that should wear one
I bet you do, too, Scott.
I still wear a mask because I am fugly!!
So Pong is back with a vengeance haha.
Keep it indoors!
Looks like a tennis match too me
I agree. Give the pickleball court to Mount Airy. In the case of the court in Chestnut Hill, either close it or convert it for tennis.
It is a tennis court. Nobody was playing tennis which is why they made it a pickleball court
How is this not satire?
It’s hilarious if it’s someone elses problem.
Not so funny when trying to relax in your own backyard.
Primarily because it actually bothers people. It's really funny if it isn't your problem.
Ban this evil sport!!!
Hahaha I live in the desert near an AFB, wanna talk about not being able to open windows 9 months out of the year because of the heat/noise? I'll trade you. Get over yourselves 😂
build projects in chestnut hill ! 😂😂
...wow. I sure hope not a SINGLE PERSON in that room DARES to ever try pickleball. Embarrassing.
Hope one shows up right behind your house. Karma. Lol.
I’ve heard this before. CT I think
In CT people crying about a new airliner in a residential neighborhood... they don't know how good they have it, apparently it could be worse! "I can't open my windows!"
Just because something CAN be worse, doesn't mean it doesn't totally suck. By your logic, so long as we aren't dying off due to nuclear winter, then hey, things aren't so bad.
Haha, I'd have glagly taken this for the shorleline crips and V13 bangin at Oakwood Park 25ft from my house every day of the week. 100 cars and 10 blasting music, the slap of the domino's on picnic tables, followed by the inevitable encore of that rat a tat ak47 driveby. Oh the 80s/90s in Venice Beach was a wonder.
There are Residential Standard Rules public can't violate or selfish personal opinion. Under the Department Of Environmental : All residential areas are sensitive zone (24 hours Noiseless). Distance Guidelines 164 feet : 1. Background Sounds (not more than 15dBA) 2. Environment (Not more than 35 dBA USA, 55 dBA Malaysia) 3. Any loud noises invading any home owner's property causing bad quality living and mental stress felling uneasy, disturb and stress for it to be quiet). All recreational activities or sports must be build and gazetted to outskirt residential areas so that every household can enjoy quiet peaceful living.
Really? But gunshots are ok.....
Pa freaking lease!
Indoor courts only...or soft less noise paddle and ball...if kids sat up their loud Rap music there would you take it ?
solution to pickleball noise: Spec Tennis (played on a pickleball court but a lot quieter)
Imagine living and philly and your main complaint is people playing pickleball. Miserable and entitled people right there, my God
Haha, good point.
They need diversity?
Philly is turning into nyc
The residents are being harmed. The sport’s impulsive sound causes stress, fatigue and anxiety that can affect people’s ability to concentrate, relax or sleep. These people can't even open their windows. The complaint is not that you play PB, it's that a constant barrage of "impulsive noise" (think jackhammer or fireworks) are disturbing their lives. Move these courts or enclose them. The location of the residents preclude any other sound mitigation. Stop hurting people.
@@NaliniLasiewicz LOL
Definitely need another name for the sport pickleball sounds like a shaft and testicles 🤣
People should stop whining. Total peace and silence isn’t a human right. People make noise. I like to blast my music during the day and you can go fys if you don’t like it. It’s off by quiet hours (12-2AM depending on the day).
Move people. Your only hope. City don’t care
more annoying noise than a drive by shooting
I will trade you my Northern Liberties house for your little house on Ardleigh.
Noise travels upwards. The placement of these courts are cold-hearted and damaging to the residents. Hope you do sue and win punitive damages!
😂😂😂😂
Okay. That means someone, or group of people are buying it.
Better move.
The fastest growing spot in america. That’s why everyone is doing it, American greed
That chucky one needs to get on court with them.
Hey, there are a lot of chunky people who play, I'm one of them and could probably beat your cut rear end.
@@pickleballfaith7096 lol, you probably could.
😂 crying about this ! It’s in a playground 🤷♂️ I’m sure it’s not all night as it would be in Kensington and a lot worse
Some are just miserable. “You can’t open your window with a racket”
I know why you came here. You came here to read the comments of this video after it was in Danny Duncan’s video.
@NWProductions: No, actually i came to try and find out about the bruhaha going on in Chapep Hill pickle ball and AOC's involvement in it, but after reading about 15 or so comments i found nothing. You are wrong1
No
bunch of karens in a court room smh
Where is the justice
"It appeals to a wide range of people."
Lololol no it seems like a certain group is playing here. Go build them at retirement homes.
This can’t be real lmao
1:43 you need to stop your diet immediately
Everyone deserves more pickleball courts in their neighborhood. Pickleball everywhere, for everyone, all the time, I say. The sound is like that of whispering leaves. No worries! Open a new pickleball court in your neighborhood today!
Now do ghettos.
Hahahhaha people just complain to be complaining
Cry babies.
@Liberals are Gay Snowflakes 86 LOL, your name made me laugh. People see and hear what they want.
@EDC CZ P-10 S Not really. I’m old and as one gets older you become less tolerant of other things no matter how minor. These seniors forget they were once young and active. Don’t like it then move to a 55 and up HOA. Those nut jobs will listen to you cry all day long.
that's fine until you have a baby, kid.
Pickle ball sucks, play tennis
Wow, the fastest growing outdoor sport in the World, and they're complaining. The number of players has doubled or tripled in the last 2 years, and people are getting out and exercising. Their complaints leave me with only one thing in my mind: "Wahhhhh."
@kirkleach Clearly, you've never played or you wouldn't say that. It's a the fastest growing sport in all age categories, but older adults find it to be great exercise, and anything that gets them out and exercising is great. However, there are State High School athletic organizations contemplating adding it to Varsity sports in High School, and colleges who are moving in that direction, also. For someone serious enough to play regularly, it is very much "exercise", and not "just barely".
so much macho, what a big hauss...
Outspoken critic wearing a mask, when her weight is her real risk factor.
One has nothing to do with the other, you utter dummy.
Pickleball is an activity (not a sport) that unathletic, fat, immobile people can play and convince themselves they are playing a sport. And it never fails, they always think their right to play pickleball supersedes everyone and everything else on earth. Pickleball - the ultimate Karen sport.
pickleball will ultimately go the way of racquetball and putt-putt golf - be popular as hell for 20 years then fade into obscurity b/c it's not enough of a challenge.
Boomer it is more of sport then baseball or nascar .
